So many of the prettiest faceups have dolls with eyelashes that are at least two colors. The lashes appear to have white or blonde lashes mixed in with darker ones. Are these lashes bought this way as one set, or are the artitsts mixing two different sets of lashes? I can't seem to figure this out, but want to buy some if anyone knows where to get them. thanks!
I have a CH unique doll that has two eyelash colors. The artist put them in together, so that there are actually two pairs of eyelashes on my doll (or 2x in each eye). It's a pretty neat effect. The lashes are close together and curled tightly. I'm not quite sure how they got them to curl that closely, but without close examination, you can't really tell that there are two pairs used!
I acctually want to know where to get the eyelashes that start one color and turn a different one at the tip... like the Dollmore Noir Asha's black to red ones.
I don't know where you can buy them premade, sorry! But when Armeleia did my Buzz's faceup, she painted the tips of his pink eyelashes black. So it can be done that way. Sorry if that doesn't help.
bump for trying to find out where to buy the ones that are actually two different colors....I don't think my dolls are wearing two sets...there looks like one lash line, but there are definately two sets of colors. These heads were painted by various Korean artists among others.
Eacretp - I've seen eyelashes that start out black at the base and turn to a different color (my favorite is black to hot pink, but that's neither here nor there) at costume shops. Places that carry higher-end cosmetics also carry eyelashes of this sort on occasion (MAC stores, and those kiosiks in places like Sak's). I have occasionally seen some at places like Hot Topic as well, generally under glass near the cash registers. You could always try looking there for human sized lashes that could be cut down for your dolls. Good luck with finding them!
thanks Addie... I know which lashes you are talking about that change colors toward the end of the lashes. I'm referring to the 'mix' of colors that I see. I have seen the lashes that look like there are both pale (almost white) lashes mixed in with dark lashes...they are separate lashes. These are the ones that I really want to find.
