I have a question, because I'm too indecisive xD Do you lovely folk think the pink skin or vivid skin will suit a fair freckly girl more?

Also, a more practical question with the layaway, does it take into account the predicted shipping rates, or will this be invoiced at the end? (I'm just joining the pre-order now).

 

That looks amazing so far, Kiyakotari! I tried to look up mock ups so I could try one for my Oryx but I am hopeless lol!

Kamia: I think viid would look nice and natural for a fair freckly girl. It just seems like a more natural skin tone than the pink skin

@$avage, yeah that's what I was a little worried about with the teal resin - it looks lovely in the sample resin colour photo but I'd be a little disappointed if the doll didn't come out the same sort of colour. Also I have no idea what character I'd make with her either.
Although I have to say that @Kiyakotari, you're making me regret my decision not to go with teal! I love your design (and well done on doing such a good job on your phone. I tried it once and... well, I'm not doing it again without a stylus lol), and I like idea of going down the route of making your Elbe an alien rather than an elf. I'd love to see what you can make with your silver-smithing skills!

Hello @kamia! I went for the pink skin and I've been thinking that a few freckles would suit her, but freckles on the vivid skin colour wouldn't look out of place either. I suppose it depends on how fair you wanted her to be - I feel like the pink is going to end up being seriously pale lol And I've opted to have an invoice for the shipping sent to me separately at a later date when the price for it is settled - then I don't have to worry about whether I've paid enough etc

 

I uttrely agree, you hit the nail about teal color, me neither i can think to a character with teal color so i picked-up vivid color that is much more easy to deal with an build some characters!
I should planning also some crazy wig hairstyle for my Oryx, still thinking on color of hair maybe black would be the best choice as mathc almost with everything

At the moment this is my current thinking, BUT it's changed so many times already... - Ingenue (+Gamine head), vivid skin, A bust, long torso, long legs, elegant hands + white stilettos.

I'm going to think on it a little longer though mainly because my choices have changed so many times already xD

Just to double check, am I correct in thinking these dolls are due to be sent out at December time? Or is this wishful thinking? xD

 

I think you're right, December could be probably shipping time for dolls, i mean from Twigling to us.
Love so far your choices, but you have still time to setting final decision i feel you cause options are many so take your time!

To be honest i would loved to get again black resin skin, no matter the issue for the face up..but wasn't available at this time. So i chosen pink skin, basicly i got old body but relaxed hands, and Pietà head.
I've already developed my character, no drawning or such..still big issue for me will be costume.

 

I like the thought of having optional sleeves that can be removed to alter the look, and having some sort of headpiece is a nice idea. This outfit sounds like it's going to be amazing, I'm really interested to see how it turns out when you've finished it.

I think most of us have had difficulty making those final choices - I thought I'd made up my mind until the order form was released with all the options! I struggled when it came to deciding on the torso piece and the resin colour, and I've come to the conclusion I'm going to have to get another Twigling doll at some point lol

I checked my calendar again this morning and unfortunately it's still saying August. I'm hoping it's defective XD
Argh! These next few months are going to be slow to pass, I just know it.

I love the black obsidian skin and I'm really disappointed I didn't get the chance to get a doll in it. I hope Twigling is able to make it available again at some point in the future.
My doll has all the original body options and I also went for an Ingenue SA head version to go with the OE head because I really couldn't make my mind up about it, and I feel like I'd end up regretting it if I didn't get it while it was still available. I've got a faint idea for a character in mind but I have so many different doll plans in my head that it's really hard to settle on just one idea. I think I'm going to need to collect some reference images and see what speaks to me the best.

The more I look at the heads the more I am intrigued by them all. Pieta is now a contender.... but for now I may have to just stick with Ingenue and Gamine. [MENTION=38965]$avage[/MENTION] I think I feel more worried about picking because I'm not actually on the preorder yet, so this does feel pressing! But I think because twigling went away, I at least have until then to decide :P

I currently have tabs of the different body compositions I'm interested in and double check them a few times a day to check I'm still liking the same ones... pretty sad xD

Has anyone done photoshop mock-ups of face-ups on the new faces? I'd love to see... especially Gamine - it's her eyes that are making me need her... What did everyone decide about face-ups?

 

Kamia i feel you, it's more hard setting a decision cause there's so many options, moreover if you didn't joined the long layaway since the start you feel pressure, i agree!
About reference pics have you tried on twigling facebook, or on flickr?I think she also have some blog or Tmblr but not quite sure
I was in the same boat as Zaliayn about options, i've ended up with old body but long nails hands i think that for character that i have in mind with Orix head old body would have suited better

Old body is so nice, it is what made me look further into Twigling, so maybe me picking long torso is dangerous?? So many hurdles in my mind >.< xD Also, I love different hands, I almost want to ask for one relaxed pose and one elegant pose because I prefer non-matching hands... (in terms of pose, but size etc have to be the same xD) The long nails are super beautiful too though....

Right! I'm heading back to look at all the options all over again, just to make sure I won't regret anything xD

There's a lot pics there i agree with you new torso is awesome, if you prefer taller dolls you should go for it i find such interesting, and you have great idea about hands in different pose, get 2 pairs of hands isn't bad at all!

 

I've been working on ideas for my Ingenue and I think so far one has sort of stood out to me more than the others. I was thinking about styling her sort of bohemian, mixed with some art nouveau (like the paintings by Alphonse Mucha) and also a little bit of a steampunk influence. Lots of flowy & patterned fabrics, beads, flowers, some gear and cog charms etc. I plan to keep her faceup fairly natural looking and maybe add a few freckles too, and I wanted to go for a loosely styled, pastel mohair wig with waves or curls. Here's a sketch I did of a dress idea I had going around in my head, along with some possible hair colours (I can't decide on the colour yet):


I'd like to make it out of a peachy-coloured chiffon material and use leather for the belt, as well as a little cog for decoration (I have accumulated a huge stash of cogs and gears that need using for something lol). I was also thinking of adding some delicate loops of chain and beads to the belt, and I want to make a hairpiece out of cogs, flowers and beads.
My other dolls are mostly dressed in darker colours and styles, and I want my Ingenue to be different in that she has a much more graceful, lighter and feminine style. At least that's the current plan - by the time she arrives, it could have changed quite a bit!

I feel like it would work better colour-wise with other outfits I've been planning out too. I can always save the other colours for my next Twigling doll! I still have to decide on the eye colour though - now that I have no idea about, eyes are always the hardest part to decide on for me.

This dress will probably be the most complicated thing I've attempted, but I'm going to practice making a few similar ones to work out the best way of doing it. I'm not confident enough to make the actual dress until my doll arrives though, plus I need to get hold of the right fabric for it, but I'm going to make a couple of simpler pieces of clothing just so she actually has something to wear when she gets here!

Ah you hit the nail dear, same here i'm keeping bsy planning style of wigs, characters and clothes i think that i'll be super excited when Oryx finally arrive!

 

I've started fiddling around with colors. Namely I'm still not sure for eye colors or even a wig style. Might take advantage of a random wig order or two and throw it up to the RNG thing.
Ingenue with C bust, short torso, long legs and elegant hands. I feel bad doing something so "run of the mill" but she is what I want for this gal.

The outfit will have a yellow sleeveless catsuit underneath with the shorts (unsure of color), a cloak in black and a scarf in pink.

[MENTION=48509]Scarele[/MENTION] , I always stuggle picking eye colours for my dolls, I usually have to change it several times before I find the 'right' colour. I like your concept for your Ingenue, especially the bright colour contrasts - I don't think she sounds 'run of the mill' at all! And even if she was, I don't think there's a problem with that I'm sure she'll look great after you've finished.

Ahhh I still haven't paid the second half and haven't locked mine. Still debating between short and long torso. I'm planning for a B-bust, original hand, (short/long? undecided) and long legs. (I'm only getting the body by the way)
I'm liking the look of the long torso but I kinda worried about the height, I want her to be shorter than my dollshe boy.
(Given she will never ever wear high heels of some sort) Help, please.

 

(I was tempted by the long torso too, but I stuck to my original plan and went for the short one. I'll save the long one for next time.)

I'm not too familiar with Dollshe sizes - am I right in thinking he'd be 68-70cm tall? If so then you'd have to decide just how much shorter you'd want your Twigling doll to be, factoring in the size/height of the head you were going to use - long torso + long legs would only really make her a little shorter than him, possibly not that noticeably different in height especially once the wig is on, while the short torso + long legs combination would give you a clearer height difference between the two, and a little more room to work with. If it was me I'd probably go with the shorter option since I'd reason that it's easier to make a doll look taller than it is shorter (shoes with slightly thicker soles or slight heels, how the wig is styled etc.)
If it's of any help, Comparison Heaven has both Twigling and Dollshe doll photos in their database so you can compare them side by side.

 

Thanks. I am really tempted by that long torso look. It's sure true that it'll be a lot easier to make them look taller than shorter. Sadly I'm not that fond of the short leg maybe if it's was a bit slimmer I will consider it. Guess I'm going with my original plan then.

 

Guys! </3 I won't be able to order my A bust, long torso, long legged perfect ingenue/gamine girl D: I had thought about it so much I felt like she was already mine. I found the perfect wedding dress and I was offered the sample at a discount, but have to pay immediately. Goodbye savings! Oh no Kamia, that's a shame! But it is for a good cause and I'd imagine finding your perfect wedding dress isn't something that happens every day (especially with a discount too!). You'd likely regret it if you didn't go for the dress. Still it is a little sad that everything has come around at the same sort of time. It's good to know you'll still be hanging out in the thread though!
I'm pretty sure Gamine will be available again as she's a brand new sculpt, and as Skimo said Ingenue is going to be available one last time but only in the purpley-grey Agyria resin, and since it'll be a limited edition I wouldn't be surprised if there was only a set number of them. I did think about waiting for the Agyria Ingenue but I decided that I'd prefer a natural resin colour instead and besides, knowing me I'd end up managing to miss out - I only found out that I could still get in on this pre-order less than a month ago, I thought I was too late!

Swinging by with a little reminder as I am trying to make sure nobody misses out:

...the current twigling preorder is open till the last day of August. The masters have arrived at the factory and they have started the molding process. In about a month we should have *some* resin samples, but not a full set because some parts need revision before they can be molded, so they will take a little bit longer before we can see them in resin for the first time.

In order to not overload myself completely, I will close the order when it reaches 100 participants but there are still some slots left, and more preorders like this will be organised in the future.

There are some stragglers who have not submitted their order details yet, even though they have been paying for their doll for over 6 months. This is super important to do before August 31 if you want to a) take part in the draw to win your doll for (almost) free and b) if you want me to actually send your order to the factory along with the others, which I cannot do if I don’t know what you want.

Finally for the moment I will not be making a separate form for those who just want to order heads or parts at this time, if you want a head, shoes, hands, bust stand etc but not a full doll, please email me (link at bottom of post).

Can't wait to see the vivid resin Kentarin D'Ley, I almost went for it myself before opting for the pink resin. And I'm still glued to those pictures even though I've filled in my order form - planning out future dolls lol I definitely want Pieta at some point so maybe she'll be next, depending on how the new sculpts turn out.

I'm still planning out my Ingenue - I think I'm going to call her Jasmine. I'm going to commission a wavy mohair wig for her in a pale rose pink, this sort of colour (am I alright to link this?) and I was currently thinking perhaps a pale mint green or a shade of pastel blue for the eye colour - I'm going with gentle and delicate colours for this girl, nothing too bright. AND I was also thinking about getting her a pet fennec fox from Eve Studio since they're so adorable and I think it would fit with with her overall style and theme. Plus I really want one and need to justify the idea I may have found a source of peach chiffon for that dress too, I just have to work out how much fabric I'm going to need. It would be so much easier if I was experienced with dressmaking lol

I actually have a head already, it's the body that I'm having hard time looking for. I'm really picky and specific with this one because this mean so much to me. This was for my oc from my high school days when I used to write fan fiction, more like 15 years ago. I had been looking for a lanky and yet still tone female body. Being said it has to have small chest and you know most of the small chest body in the market is like child like or really girly. If not they are like too short or too tall or too expensive (and I don't love to pieces as much as the twigling body.) So when I saw a twirling body I said "this is the one" with grabby and sparkly eyes. Haha
I kinda stray there, anyways the head is a Little rebel Tenten/Seven. Not sure how it'll look like but I'm crossing my fingers. If the hybrid didn't work, I guess I could always get a Pieta or Ingenue head which I also love to have in the future.
I'm also excited to see what everyone will do with theirs.

 

I have a LR Haichi, and I'm pretty sure the neck is going to be too thick without modding (these girls have massive necks - which I love - but yeah, massive necks which makes hybriding more difficult)

Also LR has a photo comparison of Tenten and Seven in a 10.5 cm neck (doll factory) that helped me decide. But who actually knows, we'll see on December. (Fingers crossed)

I can't be completely certain Lilla but I have a pair of Impldoll boots (also 8.5cm x 3.5cm) that fit my Iplehouse girl. Since Twigling dolls are supposed to have a similar foot size to Iplehouse dolls I would have thought that those shoes would fit them too

And that's a great idea ElvenMoonBlood16, she sounds like she'll be pretty interesting. I hope that you don't have to to mod anything to get the head to fit the Twigling body.

Twigling's feet are pretty wide...I have a couple pair of shoes that my EID can squeeze into, but my Twigling doesn't stand a chance.

 

Yeah, that's my hardest issue right now. I thought my Souldoll girl had large feet but this is quite a bit more fun. Especially when there's a pretty concrete idea of how she'll look and then finding shoes based from that idea!

 

Hmm, if that's the case Raesha then it's starting to sound like my girl may end up living in her Twigling resin shoes for a while then (pretty glad that I ordered some now). And I thought finding my Iplehouse woman shoes was tricky enough. One day I'll get myself a doll with more normal sized feet!
I've got the same issue Scarele - I'm hoping that Dollmore Model F shoes will fit as there's a couple of pairs that would really suit the style I'm planning for her.

 

Tallulah has multiple pairs of Dollmore Model F shoes (Male SD sized shoes/boots usually work too)

Oh wow! I had been lurking so long I didnt see the update to the threads! Been searching the internet for clothes for my incoming Succubi to no avail just not sure how to capture her punk rock sexiness with those dang THIGHS! Also shopping around for a faceup artist to capture the model she based on correctly. Everyone else counting down the months?
