No feedback, but I have been looking for dolls from this company as well. Aaron really is adorable

 

I have not heard of this company, but I am also not good at browsing taobao.
I will say, though, I am in love with this little angel.

 

Yes! I saw this doll on legenddoll the other day and found him absolutely adorable.



I’m neutral about clowns but his red little nose is so cute!

I recently got True Love Ivan and he is AMAZING! Seriously. Right out of the box, he poses great, has lovely mobility, high quality resin, everything I could want. So now, of course, I'm eyeballing one of the girls. I have no idea what their bodies really look like though. Anyone have one?

It's time to resurrect this topic now that the company has been deemed worthy of being spoken of once again.

I just recently put the first payment towards a Nina through the dealer Inordi hearts. I did my first payment on the 13th of this month and on the 18th I was contacted by inordi that she was already ready! I'm waiting for my most recent paycheck to go through so I can finish off the layaway. I wasn't expecting her to be made so quickly. I have to wonder if the warehouse already had one ready to go.

Has anyone gotten a true love? Before the thread was closed no one here had one yet and I'm always down to see owner spam

I'm not owning any Truelove atm (and also not planning to). But, as far as I know, dolls from this company are...

Pros.
1) affordable
2) not bad at poseability
3) the waiting time also seem to be decent (2-3 month I'd say)

Con.
1) not many sculpt to choose (but they are cute enough )
2) the official faceup... seem to be not very good (this is owner(my friend) review, you could order them blank though)

@Geekmama I have a girl body hybrided with my Soul Doll girl. She poses great but she is NOT slim. She'll easily fit Volks clothing or other standard sizes.

I have two of their dolls, Alisa (with boy body instead of the girl one) and Ivan, Ivan is the cutest little crybaby angel I own, I love him so much! Alisa I ordered with the official faceup and I don't know how I feel about it? It's not awful or anything, but the preview pictures in LegendDoll looked nicer and were part of the reason I fell in love with the face so it was kind of a bummer. To share some pictures, here's Alisa without a wig so you can see the faceup better:

Alisa's face looks shorter in the promotion pictures than it really is. (or is it just me? I don't know...)

And then my shy angel boy Ivan (whom I've named Shiro, he has my crappy face-up and I swear he has eyebrows but they refuse to show up in any pictures )


For me I like the faces of these dolls (so cute!) and the posability of them, not like I have many dolls to compare with (old minifee boy I sold and Luts kid delf) but compared to those two True Love dolls are sturdy and can hold almost any pose without help. I literally couldn't believe how well they pose when I took Ivan out of his box and started toying with him for the first time, like, a doll who's not trying to kick or punch my face? What an absolute angel ♥ I also received both super fast, though to be fair Ivan was in-stock doll at the moment of ordering and for Alisa LegendDoll said she'd arrive in 9-14 weeks but I got him bit over 5 weeks later so super fast.

Currently considering ordering baby-Ivan so bigger-Ivan can have a little brother, I'd love the full set for him if only it had some actually nice clothes and not that awful squirrel onesie?.... but on the other hand, I can't seem to bond with a doll unless I paint their faces myself anyway so maybe I should just grab him blank and get the poor thing actually cute clothes and not that... thing he wears otherwise.

 

Which skin tones are these? I’m debating getting an Aaron and Legenddoll says the promo picture is pink skin but it looks very pale. Is their pink skin just that light?

 

They're both pink skin, it is pretty light to my eyes but I also took the pictures under a bright light. Here's it compared to Luts' normal skin in normal room light (first is Luts doll, second true love in both):

Imgur compressed those to hell but if anything Luts normal is to my eyes tiny bit darker / pinker than TL's.

 

Thanks! Most of my other dolls are Luts normal so that gives me something to go by. Luts normal is already very light so looks like True Love pink will be on the lighter side too. I got a DFH pink that looked way too pink when I first got her so I’m a little wary of “pink” dolls but the promo pics don’t look very pink at all so I should be good.

 

Since there are only a few picture of TrueLove kids here, I would love to share mine too.

Here is Cassie, with official face up (which doesn't look accurately alike promote image, but I still like it).

And here is Xiaomo. I don't like her official faceup, so I removed it and gave her new faceup myself (which is still not 100% done ^^") She's wearing Volks' MDD dress.


There are some concerns that I didn't see anyone mention here:
- The (girl) body seems to be a bit more plump comparing to other MSD. I have bought her some trousers and blouse from ACBJD and they're too fit on her. However, that's why I like their body ^^"

- Official faceup is not that bad, but somehow unstable in quality. There are also a lot of discount event during the year, plus free faceup.

- The yellow skin is a big no. I wanted to order Xiaomo in yellow skin once, thinking that it would look more natural, but the dealer told me that it's too yellowish, and not recommend that skin.

Please note that I'm still new to this hobby and they're the only BJDs I have. The concerns I mention above are gathered from the conversation with dealers, friends, and local BJD group. Hope it'd be helpful!

(P.S. Cassie is not a famous mold but I strongly recommend her > w < b )

 

Ooh nice to see their girls too! I mean, Alisa is technically a girl but I didn't like the girl body in the pictures to much so I asked to swap it to the boy one. Interesting thing I just noticed about the bodies is that the boy one has joint at the hips/lower stomach (not sure what to call that area) but the girl one doesn't. (Pictures at inordi) Somehow that feels backwards since I'd imagine people would prefer their girls to have flexible hips for more poses whereas boy likely would pass with less posability.

Also I caved in and ordered baby-Ivan December 25th, I hope he ships as quickly as his older siblings did, especially since I got him as a blank doll. He'll be my first smaller doll so I'm looking forward to holding him for the first time Since he'll be Shiro's little brother his name will be Shion.

 

I didn't even notice the different between girl and boy body joint. Thanks for pointing it out! I agree that people would prefer more flexible body for girl ^^

I'm also interested in little Ivan too. But I have to save budget for my 1/3 boys lol. Good luck with the little boy > w < // Hope you will get him very soon!

 

I’m waiting for an Aaron in normal pink. I got the official faceup so I’m hoping it looks ok. I saw a couple owner pics on Instagram and the faceup looked pretty close to the one in the official pictures so I went for it. Almost got the full set since I really liked the wig in the official pics but when I saw it on Instagram it was more grey than brown.

Their yellow skin in the official comparison photos doesn’t look like what I’d call yellow. It looks more like a very yellow-based tan (and not in a good way). It looks way darker than the pink.

 

I have a True Love Ivan head. He is in normal pink skin which is very pale and mellow, comparable to some companies white skin. (compare to other pink skin on the chest and hands here)
BUT he is very cute, and he was delivered in about a month.

 

I'm so glad there's a thread for True Love! I've fallen hard for Tina; I'm just trying to decide how to order her. I love the company faceup one the site, but I watched an unboxing video and the faceup she received wasn't nearly as happy as I had hoped, so I'm wondering if I should skip it and do my own. I also love her outfit and accessories, but I'm not a huge fan of the female bodies, and I can't just order the accessories by themselves.

As it seems there are a number of people who have been disappointed by the face up, should I save the money and skip it? I can do faceups myself, but it won't look quite as sharp.

 

^ I don't think the faceups are necessarily bad or anything but they're just not quite as nice as in the pictures so I'd probably save the $50 and do it myself if I were you + you bond with the doll more when it has your hands mark on it right? ^^ (or I do at least)

 

Thanks! I'm realizing if I want the accessories, I'll need to order it with a faceup anyway. I guess I can just plan on redoing it if I don't like it.

 

I ordered mine with a faceup since it was only $30. If it’s not very good I’ll just get a custom one done later. The owner pics I saw on Instagram for Aaron had a couple that looked like the company faceup and it didn’t look bad. The wig did not look enough like the official pictures though.

 

I just got message from newclover singing that my baby Ivan has shipped! My smol bean is coming home in hopefully within couple of weeks I truly love how fast True Love dolls get shipped after ordering, this took pretty much exactly a month from order to shipping notice.

 

I got my notice a few days ago too! I was really surprised since it was just under a month since I ordered.

 

Congrats! I guess they're still such a small company that when they get orders they'll get to working on them right away so there isn't much delay. Once they get more popular/known it'll likely slow down but before then we get to enjoy these wonderful non-existing waiting times.

 

Waah, that's one of the coolest dolls I've seen in a while. What exactly is Legenddoll, by the way? Newbie question, but I've seen it mentioned a few times. Is it a brand on its own?

My Nina came in! Well she did 2 weeks ago. I'll post a picture later as I haven't hosted them anywhere yet.

She's definitely thicker in body the other doll I have, and while I don't mind that, it means I have no pants for my poor girl and all the shops I follow deal in slim mini, and she definitely is not slim

 

Congrats on Nina! I've noticed that it's really hard to find clothes for girl dolls that aren't slim minis too, but if you're doing your shopping in etsy there's at least BJD clothes Curvy and Barbie clothes Doll clothes by WarenBJD who offers "bigger msd/jid" size!

My baby Ivan has reached the country, now waiting for the post office to make their next move and either tell me to pay the custom fees or deliver it to me. Either way I expect him to be home soon!

 

My Aaron came in today - he shipped out less than a month after ordering through Clover Singing. I got him in normal pink but he is very pale - similar to Luts normal as was previously posted. His faceup is not great as others said about theirs. The eyes and eyebrows look nice but he has more blush than I like and the lips are ehhh....Very orange and painted oddly. I can edit them in photos for now.

It was worth paying the $30 just so he won’t be blank until I can send him off for a custom one. One of his eyelashes fell off before I could even dress him and the other came off easily so they weren’t glued in very well at all. They are very nice looking eyelashes though so I will save them to reattach or put on another doll.

The resin feels nice and he was strung very well, maybe a little tight. He stood right out of the box. Overall I’m pretty pleased considering the price though I’d say if you’re capable of doing your own faceups or are thinking of sending off for a custom one immediately don’t bother with the official faceup. At least it’s inexpensive so I won’t feel too bad about wiping it later.

My baby Ivan also already arrived and I'm waiting for warmer weather before I get to paint his face so he's sitting in his box waiting for now. At least his clothes arrived so he doesn't have to hang in his underwear.

Did anyone notice they now offer 2 1/3 sized dolls and have a new body for dolls in that size available too? (still not possible to get the 1/4 body separately for some reason though...) I wonder it poses as nicely as the smaller bodies do?

 

I have seen their 1/3 dolls from dealer website too. The price is affordable for me, but both the faces aren't my type. But using their body for hybrid is quite tempting!

I suppose it could pose as well as their 1/4 but I can't put a finger on. From their promote pictures, there are only very basic pose...

 

I have an Ivan (1/4) and he's gorgeous! The resin is lovely, the poseability is great. I adore him! The only thing I will say is that it was not obvious to me in the pics that he is crying. Someday I will wipe the tears away. I love him to bits!

 

I should have posted her a few months ago, but here's my Tina! Her name's Olivia. She's my first doll that ever came in (and the last one I ordered, go figure), so I'm still building up a wardrobe for her.

 

True Love makes the cutest dolls. I have the yo-sized Ivan, and he's such an excellent poser- on par with Loongsoul. I caved and bought two MSD boys since they've got them on discount. I wish they were more popular, they're so lovely!

 

Just bought myself an Arvin. Hopefully he fits the character I have in mind!

I hope you'll post pictures of him when you get him I keep going back to look at pictures of him, Cole and Aaron I'd love to get all three + Xiaomo one day but I don't have room for them all the new 1/6 doll Koi is also very cute, but her clothes, just like baby Ivan's squirrel onesies, are kind of awful

I'm glad I was able to find a thread on these dolls here! They're all so cute. I caved and decided to order their SD boy March Hare. I saw him and fell in love with how sweet and gentle his face looked. And here I told myself no more dolls ... oops He was just such a great deal and I felt like I couldn't pass him up.

 

@Justjordy0 March hare truly is adorable! Please let us know how the bigger body poses when it arrives, I keep eyeing it thinking I want it for one of my bigger boys but I've never seen anyone have it so I've been hesitant to order it.

New clover singing has these dolls in 20% sale by the way so now is good time to add one in your collection if someone has considered it! I keep going back and forth wanting to order Arvin, Aaron, Cole or Xiaomo but I need to wait and see what Luts brings in the rest of their winter event first so I can budget. ^^;

I just ordered Elsa from Jane's doll land and I can't wait! She looks like she will be an amazing companion for my Vieruodis. Now I will have one tiny elf and one msd elf! I'm not sure what will come of my Xun, because I've been a little less impressed with the detail of her sculpt since I got the Myou and now that I've seen the true love. And there's a 20% off sale right now too, so it was the perfect time! I just don't know how I didn't see her or know about them before I bought my resinsoul. From looking at YouTube videos she appears to be a much better poser than I'm used to!

 

My True Love Elsa arrived and she has vastly exceeded all of my expectations. If anyone is on the fence, I'd say go for it with True Love! Her body is thicker than the slim mini I was used to, which I love! She stands so easily and poses really well! I even got her to stand on one foot! She's super heavy too, which I also really like.

 

Wow, I knew True Love shipped fast, but that was crazy fast! Congratulations!

 

Oh I got her from Janesdolland, a us dealer, she was in stock so that's why it was under a week but I will definitely be wanting another so I'm glad to know they ship quickly if I do do a preorder!

 

Hello! Does anyone here happen to have a True Love doll in white skin? Is it slightly warm or a plain white? I'm thinking of getting a body to hybrid with my Dearmine head, but as it's paper white in colour I'm not sure how well it'll match @__@

True Love's white is pretty paper white, yeah. I have three TL dolls now in ws and they're all super white, lol. Should be a good match, I think. I can check the match with (admittedly a few years old) Dearmine tomorrow when there's natural light.

 

Ooh, I'd love to see if it's not too much trouble! I was thinking of passing it up in the end since I'm concerned the TL bodies will be too childlike for them but the affordable resin match + poseability I'm reading about makes it tempting....

 

Sorry it took so long to reply! I forgot I hadn't finished wiping the Dearmine's faceup, haha. Lighting isn't great but...

Not sure if this'll show up, but. The two redins both have a warm, creamy undergone that's not super apparent in bright light. The Dearmine head is about four years old but hasn't been displayed much; my TL boy is about six months old. I think the match would work well! They really are lovely to pose and have a nice weight to them.

Do you happen to have an MSD body you could try the DM head on by any chance? I'm just concerned if the proportions/chubbiness would look odd since DMs seem a bit more masculine/mature and I've never tried a hybrid before, but they look really great in every other aspect!

 

@jaywalk I should have clarified! This is an SD head. Now, if you're looking for that kind of match, I have an MSD-sized TL body I can put her on.
