    1. I have also hinted on FB. She is going to be inundated!

    2. That might make her want to do a resin version :-) I don't think artist mind enthusiasm.

    3. That is really cool. Can you aske her if she is making in resin, hopefully where we can inset eyes ad if she would just sell the heads? Her work is incredible but the stories of her shipping methods is scary

    4. I did message her and asked her if she will be making resin heads to sell separately and also if there will be full dolls with this head.
Lets see what she says before I ask about inset eyes :-) I will reply here once I get a reply.

    5. She says porcelain only. Ah well. We did try. And we did let her know that there might be a market, should she change her mind some way down the line.

ETA: And her response to my FB question.

Unfortunately I' m going to cancel produce any resin Sphinx doll because of recasts of this doll. Therefore updated Sphinx body and head will be available made of porcelain only.

That is a crying shame and I can understand her frustration, but now the recasters have won. Whilst she was having money taken from her by some buyers going to the recaster, now she will have no money coming in from these. Wow. Such a shame.

    6. Yes, she replied and only in porcelain. There are recasts on this doll? amazing that a casting company has the cheek to do that! I didn't think they did that with rare dolls such as this as they need to buy the original doll to recast it...

    7. than
Thank you so much, with the resin and the heads as much as I do desperately love her body it would seem a bit safer to find a legitimate body here without fear of breakage.

    8. She showed me pics of her wonderful new boxes with foam cut outs in the shape of the doll for the regular dolls she did, after the cat issues. She said she created good boxes to be sure no more breakages happen. They looked to be professionally made, so I would not worry from here on. Though it is always good to ask if you do get a chance to order a cat.

    9. If she has ordered in boxes, presumably she is still thinking of selling a few more Sphinxes. I wonder when she is going to discontinue them. Those who are thinking of buying might want to ask.

    10. Well they were boxes she ordered for the two Mini girls she did. If you look at her flickr you will see them.

    11. Ah! OK. She hasn't said anything about discontinuing those. I keep forgetting she has done other resin dolls!

    12. that is really good to know and would like to hear if she has taken care of customers that had issues with broken parts in the dolls she had sold before

I just read this, sorry am new to attempting to post and still not navigating or catching everything posted properly. I have heard this explanation used allot lately by makers of porcelain and resin dolls and doesn't make any sense. I feel it is utilized to stick with a particular medium or to just stop production of something. From what I have heard porcelain would be as easy to copy as resin if not more so. My aunt owned a ceramics store and from what I remember as a child creating a mold from a porcelain piece would probably be easier by far. The recast issue comes up all over the place and has me terrified to even attempt to get anything without running it by friends who know first. As far as items being bought to copy in same or other form I know that Asian factories have done that for a couple decades with statuary and plaques: obtaining a bronze piece then making a mold to make resin pieces, it is a big issue as well as the electronic area pirating. I do know all the Russian artists I admire all make porcelain dolls and I think that is a medium that they are comfortable with and feel has more value. It is disappointing. Whatwould be more of an issue they should worry about is this 3d printing issue that has sprung up.

Hi there, just saw your post [yes, I'm slow on the draw] I agree and then some and wanted to ask: did you ever get the hand business taken care of? Was the factory able t help you?

    13. Me? I had no hand issues. Mine arrived fine, but was quite a while ago and I can't now remember if she was bubble wrapped or not. She didn't strike me as being badly packaged, so she probably was. I can't remember who had the broken hand issue, without looking back in the thread. I don't remember there being a resolution.

    14. Maybe the person will read this and let use know. LOL I am hanging out here but actually I don't have any of her dolls. I do admire her sculpting but I like SD size dolls.

    15. sorry I was speed reading through the posts and noticed every said they were poorly wrapped in saran wrap [but most miraculously arrive intact] and someone had a busted hand and se wanted to charge t send another

    16. Nooooooo.... :( that's unfortunate. Well luckily I have the sphinx, but I was hoping she would change her mind about the other head. Meh. What I hope now is that she won't only make new dolls in porcelain from now on.

    17. Hasn't anyone got any new ones to show off?

    18.
    19. Sorry I do not own her anymore. But she is very very very thin !!

    20. Art-Bird: check page 4 of this thread there are some measurements there.

    21. Thanks...I tried to see the russian pic, but it was only 146, too small to see, plus it did something weird to my computer & froze the page. I think I was successful in creating my own? I did this drawing last night, and placed a cm ruler next to it...sorry- its a quick sketch! Not sure if its perfect, but did my best...

    22. Does anyone know why my Flickr image links are always broken when I try to add photos? I copy/paste the img link into the image editor icon in the post...it shows up as broken.

    23. Thank you very much for posting this picture, it really help!

    24. You are very welcome!

    26. Oh yeah, me too.. I opened up this thread and I am sad now :(

    27. Don't be sad. We will just have to share the dolls that we have.

      Here is Pussy...

    31. Thank you!
      the Kiomi's preorder passed.

    32. She is lovely, @Lino4ka.

As I have little interest in the girls, I don't know if have talked about Sonia yet. 1:6 LE of 50 and seems there is a new way to buy them, via a site called Studio Milim.

      Соня (альфа)

    33. thank you so much for the compliment :)
MadamMauMau you are right Sonya is a co-project of Tatyana and Studio Milim they will make 50 pieces only, but she is also busy now with some porcelain projects

I do not know if I am allowed to post here so many pics, so I post the links only.
      And my Ethel (Kiomi) again
      [IMG]

    34. Yes, it all seems to be porcelain at the moment. The boy I know will only be in porcelain. I don't know about the man. I wonder if the recasting situation has warned her away from resin casting. Be a shame if it did.

    35. :atremblin:atremblin:atremblin

    36. It just breaks my heart that these gorgeous ethereal creatures have been recast!! There are several unscrupulous dealers selling them on ebay. And every one of them has TONS of negative feedback. Why would ebay allow thievery like this? This is the same as selling fake Coach bags or Rolex watches. I have two of the REAL girls. They are my treasures. Such a rape of art.

      • x 1
    37. Indeed, it is very frustrating.
I was never interested in recast, and went to ebay to check it after your post . I was shocked that one of dealers (i think he is the primary source of other dealers), has 100% of positive fedback, NO NEGATIVE at all. such a shame... on people who buy all that fake stuff. as long as someone buy recasts, they will make ones

    41. Lino4ka,your Kiomi is absolutley stunning!It's a real treasure!

    42. Dimitria, thank you!

    43. I have foud her facebook and deviant art but dn't think I have foud her offical website as the one I found looked really old without new entries. I dd find enough to see I was totally wrg on the price of her dolls: I thought they were closer to 2,000 when I found how reasonable the sphinx was at closer to 700

    44. Oh, yes! The price is relatively reasonable :) and the quality is a super cool!!!

    45. I am really glad to hear that, what is her current website? I think I have created a whole new crew of doll enthusiasts by showing off her fighting kittehs! I also put up in a couple of comment places wheither she would make the mold with the ability to add your own eyes in the dolls and am hoping that comes to pass.

    46. Unfortunately, she isn't making any more sphinxes in resin, or so she said a few months back when some of us asked whether she would make the new, open-mouthed cats in resin. So, they will be sold only as complete, porcelain art dolls. It's a shame and I do hope she reconsiders. She does make human resin dolls, though. Have a look back a couple of pages for some pictures.

    47. she had what seemed to be an old website I found as I hadn't found new posts on it. I can remember reading her thoughts of just doing porcelain and was hoping she might change her mind also to include resin. I saw her new packing boxes also and they look like they are sturdy. I m going to have to read back from the beginning this thread to see what I might have missed. I had seen her other dolls and they are lovely but am hooked on the cats

OMG! She is stunning in black too!

    48. Her open mouth Sphynx is amazing. Maybe she will reconsider and make it available in resin too. The porcelain is just out of my reach price wise.

    49. I think I like resin more than porcelain: I feel it is less fragile or at least less intimidating to me. I have been are porcelain all my life and have to say with my childhood doll my grandmother made me though the porcelain has that "look" only one f the legs got busted.

    50. Tatyana has had a change of plan. That beautiful little boy (and his sister) are now going to be produced in both resin and porcelain. No details as yet but I'm thinking 45cm or so in height, perhaps? I have asked if the resin versions will have opened eyes, as that would be very useful.

The little boy! Not often do you see a face that has so much character and life. I don't usually opt for expression faces as they can be limited in their use, but that frown is so engaging. He is a boy with a difficult problem to solve.

    52. She is lovely, Lino4ka.

Just to note that Tatyana says the children will be released in November. I am thinking they will be too rich for my purse, but let's see.

And I went on her website just now and she appears to have the sphinxes back up on sale. I am assuming they are the resin ones, as they are available without blushing (and that doesn't happen with porcelain, does it?). However, they are $920, which seems to be a painful amount for resin, with shipping when I got mine being over $100 in addition. Anyway, it is there if anyone needs it. Order Sphinx

    53. Gosh, those Sphinxes are absolutely amazing! I'd been eyeing a Pipos Roah for months and months, and the two would make a killer pair. But wow... $920 is far out of my price range. Especially considering she's so small. I'm sad to hear I missed out when she was cheaper.

    54. Yes, they were $780 when they went first on international release, which was already an eye-watering amount. It is a shedload of money now, more even than a Popovy. However, I suspect they will still sell at that price, although not as many as if they were cheaper.

    55. I love her work!! I am fortunate enough to have two of her girls, both authentic. One I purchased directly from Tatyana and the other from a reputable seller here on DoA. Though off topic, she has the most gorgeous snarling version of the Sphinx in porcelain. I want one so bad my teeth hurt but when I inquired as to the cost I found they are a jaw-dropping $5000 USD so too much for me. I hope more collectors will grab up her lovely resin cats. I was so sad for her when I saw them boot legged on Ebay. What a miserable thing to do to any artist.
This is Fussy..named for a real live Sphinx cat. She was blushed and air brushed to resemble a Chocolate Point Siamese by the incomparable Angel Toast. She was my first kitty from Tatyana.

    57. Reminder~

The new boy and girl dolls being worked on by Triffony have not been submitted for topicality. Until we have evidence of changeable eyes, and they are approved for Topicality, they cannot be discussed.

We will leave the images up for now, but if they lead to more speculation, etc. we'll need to edit them out to keep the thread On Topic.

    58. Has anyone got any more of these gorgeous kitties?

    59. i would love to have one of the too :)

    60. For any who are waiting on info with as much impatience as I am on information about the children, I just message Tatyana. She says, yes, the resin dolls will have changeable eyes and are due for release on 17th January and will cost in the region of $790. Yoiks! Time to start saving. They are called Philip and Lolita. Philip is 34cm.
