The prop is Lieselotte's friend the Magic Rocking Horse. He was created long ago by an unknown magician as a gift for his daughter. After many years of playing with the little girl, Rocking Horse absorbed his own special powers. When the daughter grew to adulthood, she set the horse free. Rocking Horse searched the world for a new friend and found one in Lieselotte. Together, with her astride his back, the two would travel to distant lands seeking the wonders of the world.

My prop is an Old-Fashioned Bicycle with a large front wheel and a small back wheel. It's made from tin coffee cans covered cut up and covered in either newspaper or coke cans. The wheel "rubber" and peddles are made from the black plastic coffee lids. It can support the weight of the doll and if you push the peddles, the front wheel spins.

Original meant to be a full chair that had a hiding spot I didn't have the equipment to make the back stick. So it's a bit too tall of an ottoman with a hiding hole. The prop itself now holds all his first challenge clothes (except his bag) and he can sit on it so long as I mind his bum when posing as the cushion can slide about.

The prop is a 1/4 scale Japanese garden style bridge. It's function is to provide access for my dolls to cross areas that they would otherwise not be able to as well as allow them to take in the view of the surrounding area. This prop will and can provide great photo-story opportunities since my dolls tend to have a more Asian feel to their style.

Our Lady's convertible hoop is for Aesthetic Dance and Aerial Lyra work.
One important goal was to have her hold it by herself while balanced in her stand in dynamic poses: achieved. Inspiration was taken from historical photos and drawings of both ancient Grecian and early 20th Century hoop dancers (before hula hooping), Aerial Lyra/Circeau video performances and a modern cover of the Gothic & Lolita Bible featuring 2 doll characters with a decorated hoop. Birds featured in 2 of the reference images so one is represented here too.

The props name is Derp. He is a creature of undecided origin who Elsa rescued as a child. He is the 'monster' who has lived in her closet for 10 years now. As Elsa rescued him he has pledged to stay with and protect her. Elsa likes to say that he's her minion and calls him Derp because as a child she couldn't pronounce his name, the unfortunate nickname has stuck. Derp would like to clarify that as with all good minions his purpose and function is to deal with all of Elsa's nonsense; clean her room, comfort her, protect her, and that if he had known that would include listening to her drone on about balls and galas he might not have accepted. He would also like to clarify that her closet is the size of most peoples bedrooms and is in fact a very pleasant place to live.

The prop I made is a kind of semi - poseable rag doll for my doll to play with. It's limbs and body are made out of old magazines, it's head and hands are from an egg carton with facial features cut out from a magazine and it's hair is the netting from bags of oranges. It's joined together with glue and the fabric from the 1st challenge.

An outdoor/beach chair with an attached cushion for back support. I went with a chair like this because it's coming into spring here, and I have a feeling my doll will get a lot of use out of it over the warmer months!

The Victorian parlor chair you see here is the throne-like seat of a certain rather spoiled, princely young man, in times of respite . . . as well as for his planning and plotting.

My doll is a ghost girl, so I thought she'd like a ghost doll of her own. Fukushu is a Japanese ghost (yurei). Like a traditional folklore yurei she has no feet, and her triangular headband signifies that she can't rest until a death is avenged (my girl probably knows whose).

Mum: Who would send you a captain's bed?
      Me: Doesn't say.
Auntie: You know who. Don't sleep on it.
Me: It's got twelve drawers...twelve for my birthday!
Mum: Sixteen drawers, if you count the little ones in the headboard. Oh, darling, look at the beveling around the glass doors...and the inlay!
      Auntie: Don't touch it.
[Mum deliberately sits on the bed. Why does she sit on the bed? She always listens to Auntie.]
Mum: Ooh, is that a Tyvek mailer mattress I feel beneath me? With the fluffiest paper shredding?
[It's like she's rubbing something in Auntie's face, but I don't know what.]
Auntie: Get up! It's got Matsukaze on it.
      Me: What's a Matsukaze?
Auntie: Who, not what. Matsukaze fell in love. With a poet. Who turned into a tree. An old Japanese story. That's him, in the headboard. The branches.
Mum: There were two sisters who fell in love with that tree.
Auntie: But only one grieved when he went away.
      Mum: There were two sisters.
[Mum's gone icy. I hate when she goes icy. I've got to do something.]
Me: There's only one sister on the bed.
      ...
[I always say the wrong things.]
Auntie: I will not let my daughter sleep on enchanted sheets!
Mum: She's not your daughter. Is she.
[Auntie whispers. She's trying not to cry]: Please don't let her sleep on those sheets. Who knows what he is after?
[She leaves. Mum stares at the floor. Then she rips the sheets off the bed. They're the softest leaf green, sleep for a hundred years soft. And she yanks them off my bed.]
      Mum: Mattress ticking. How quaint.
[And she leaves. I don't think I should tell her that the ticking looks like a strange language, all skips and cross-hatches and strange intent....I'm sure it's just my imagination.]

A guitar made from two weights of cardboard, aluminum, and string. She likes to play for others when she's not on the dance floor herself. She also enjoys composing.
