Triathlon F.A.Q.

    1. How to upload photos to your entry

Images for the contest will need to be uploaded to DoA, unlike other places on the forum where you host your own photos. Here is a quick guide on how you upload the photos to DoA and get them submitted the correct way.

      Start by clicking "Upload Image".

Find and select all of the images you want to include in your entry. Make sure they are at most 600 pixels or 800 pixels wide(depending on the contest limit) and JPG format. The example image shows photos that are 600 pixels wide but for the triathlon, you may use photos that are 800 pixels wide.

Upload them by dragging them to the window or click "Open".

Wait for them to upload. Once they are uploaded, you will find the images in a list just below the window.

Now, make sure you place the cursor where you want the image to end up. Click "Full Image" to insert the image.

Tada! Image is placed in your entry. Make sure you add all the images and fill out the form, then click "Create Thread" and you are all done!

    2. F.A.Q
Welcome to the F.A.Q. for the triathlon contest. For your convenience we've piled together some of the most frequently asked questions about the contest and entries. If you can't find the answer to you question in this thread, feel free to post in the contest thread or ask us in Ask the Moderators.

Please remember to always post your question in Ask the Moderators if your question reveals anything about your entry that can make it identifiable.

Questions regarding entries and how to enter the contest

If you submit the entry before the deadline we will contact you if there are any issues.
If you wait until the last minute, we won't have time to check your entry and give you time to correct anything.

We don't have the resources to go over entries prior to submission but if you followed the size and format rules and took the correct images you should be fine.

Nope, that's just there because the forum software thinks it should be.

At the moment it is only visible to you and the moderation team. When the entries go up for voting your name won't be on it.

Once we approve an entry you can no longer see it.

You can submit your entry any time but it has to be in by the cut off time on the 12th. We aren't accepting late entries so it's usually best to try for a little earlier in case you have problems getting your entry submitted (like the power goes out, technology issues, you forget to submit an image etc)

Once we have processed your entry you cannot access it.
If you have any concerns about the entry, please post in Ask the Moderators.

You do need to follow the submission instructions. You should be able to edit your entry and insert the images correctly. Please check the tutorial above this post if you are not sure how to do it.

You can join at any time if you are playing just for fun.

If you forgot what pseudonym you used, please post in Ask the Moderators.

    3. Questions about photos for the contest

That's fine, just make sure the photo of the receipt is big enough that we are actually able to make out what it says on it.

If you owned it prior to the start of this Triathlon it does not count towards the $20 amount.

A collage is fine, just make sure you can save it as a .jpg or .jpeg that is no more than 800 pixels on the longest side.

You can create a collage style photo (make sure you save it in the correct file type and size!), you can reshoot the photo, or you can include items you think you may use in your original photo: there is no penalty for not using something in your materials photo.

We'd prefer it if you didn't show your work until after the challenge closes (once the challenge has closed you could then post all your in progress photos).

Nope. Text can only appear where it'd appear in a real world scenario. If your gun has a "bang!" written out, it has to be a gag gun that shoots a flag that says "bang" on it. Dolls cannot be labeled etc unless they'd be wearing that label in a real-life scenario.

    4. Questions about materials

Your materials are entirely up to you! If you choose to purchase worbla or other materials they come out of your $20 total.

Fabric you already own does not count towards the $20 budget.

    5. Questions about the doll used for the challenge

A faceup can definitely add to the overall effect but it isn’t required.

You can use a blushed and painted doll.

It's fine to submit a recognizable doll.

You can use a borrowed doll, just make sure you will be able to use the same doll for all three challenges.

    6. Questions about voting and prizes

      Yes, that's correct.

You will not be able to vote for them.

On the bottom right of each post there is a number. (so the first entry, is post #2)

If you are worried you will have to choose a prize you don't want, please only enter for fun.
