Hello guys! After one and a half year I ordered different clothes sets from Volks Japan again and there are some differences this time. First, Volks did not use EMS like in the past. Instead the package is delivered directly with DHL Express. And for the first time, at least in my case, the package arrived in Leipzig and not in Frankfurt. My package is there already for three days and the customer service from DHL express told me, that my package was choosen for inspection (there seems to be a discrepancy with the statet and the actual weight). And it seems that the guys there have problems with reading the accompanying documents (which was never the case before, especially with Volks). So I already sent DHL the order confirmation with the product list and the credit card invoice and a description of the products ( I avoided using the term doll and toy). Does anybody has experience with the customs in Leipzig? How long were your wait times till the package left customs? Has anybody encountered problems recently? Thank you very much in advance! Godzilla
I'm pretty sure it's just pure luck how long things take. I had packages go through in minutes but also take weeks. That being said, since this is express and you already sent them all your documents it really should be processed relatively quickly, a few days at most. And I've never encountered problems with them being dolls even when packages have been inspected. I think most of the time this isn't a problem.
Sorry for the late reply, my package arrived this week. There are some things that I learned from this. Maybe my experience is helpful for others who, like me, have never dealt with DHL express as the main shipping company before. It seems that DHL treats EMS parcels differently. - Customs in Leipzig or DHL (I don’t know) are very strict. While Volks declared everything correctly and pinned the invoice to the parcel, I had to sent them everything again (order confirmation, item list, credit card invoice) - DHL never told me that there was a problem, but it showed in the tracking. Best you call them at their office in Leipzig and ask them what they need. The DHL express main hotline is not very helpful. - DHL4YOU, at least for me, was useless. It was better and faster to send an email to the customs clearance in Leipzig. - Volks charges an overseas shipping fee. DHL or customs added the items up and complained that the total value is not correct. Again, the oversea shipping fee was correctly declared as a commission fee on the parcel, but it didn’t seem to matter. This fee isn‘t listed on the order confirmation. Fortunately I made a screenshot, when I ordered, so I was able to explain the difference. Positive: Overall, their customer service seems to be as better than in the past.
