Tips for tiny Photography?

Jun 26, 2011

    1. I'm having a really hard time taking pictures of my tiny bjd. The camera never seems to focus and the pictures are always just a little blurry. I've been using the close up setting on my camera, is there a trick to taking pictures of tinies?
please and thank you for help!:D

    2. You may be trying to shoot too close to the subject. If you're inside the near focus limit of the lens (it will have one, even when set on macro/close up), the camera won't be able to focus, and the pictures will end up blurry.

The thing to do is to back up a bit. You'll know how far, because that's when the optics will be able to focus again.

If that is too far back for the composition you're shooting for, you have in my opinion two alternatives: either crop the image in post processing, or (if you have an SLR) get a macro lens or (if you have a P&S) upgrade either to a camera with a shorter near focus distance, or a DSLR and a macro lens.

      Hope this helps!

    3. thank you very much for the tip :D I'll try not being as close next time I get decent photo weather.
