My Sephra has been asking me for a proper pair of pants since it's been so drafty in the mornings and everything else just wasn't cutting it. So I first made a mock up of some pants in fraytastic white muslin. The fraying looked sorta cool, but it wasn't gonna last too long and the front pockets bulked it up too much-- so no real front pockets.. My second pair of pants went ALL wrong and wasn't up for a picture... The third pair of pants (these all had to be hand sewn since working out the bugs didn't seem sewng machine friendly) didn't turn out too badly. From the front: From the back: And with a jonty little t-shirt: I like how they break on the front of her sneakers, but the tush leaves something to be desired. I tried doing something different and it just doesn't look right.. gives her a saggy booty... Fray check is my friend! This material is a suaded slightly shretchy material, and probably too thick to use for such tiny pants, but they look so darned cute! They didn't fray too badly, but working this small, there just isn't much room for finishing the seams. I used a tiny little button and had to cheat and use a thread loop to fasten the pants in the front. I needed a hemostat to unfasten the little buggers! I think the next pair will end up on a sewing machine with hopefully some back pockets!
Rosa-- thanks... I knew you'd like 'em. I'm sure I'll have to make you a pair when I finally get 'em just right... with all those underware... can't imagine you finding time to figure pants out too... Ashbet-- Thank you! You're work is pretty amazing... I can't sculpt to save my life.. and your kids always look great! ~Margarita
