hi! I actually forgot i had an account here! It's been crazy so these were cast and shown in a few art shows in spring of 2013. I had started her in the summer of 2011. Part of getting my degree required a project where we took an artform or goal and had an art show exhibiting what we had accomplished. I had the opportunity to finish my doll, cast her and see how many i could make in a semester. :dead it was a challenge that was sure. I took a lot of shortcuts and rushed the job, bought crappy resin off of ebay because of funds, ran into many problems and still somehow managed to make around a dozen dolls (two different body designs, and 5 different heads). The second body type only had one head and i will save that for another time, as it failed more than the Momtom(s). These little guys i came up with in 4th grade (around 2000 or 2001). I revamped the design for the doll, and had very very very little experience sculpting beforehand. I have never had a sculpting class (as my different schools did not provide them) so i self taught myself with the help of the internet and experimenting. I would eventually like to recast these little guys and fix some of the things i overlooked, or didn't have time to fix before the first set of molds. (note here, there is 1 body design, 4 head types, and 4 different kinds of ears that can be positioned in many ways) View attachment 549 View attachment 550 View attachment 551 I have more photos on my flickr under the momtom v2 album: https://www.flickr.com/photos/hlbmlp/ and more of the molds ,pieces, and closeup photos on my behance: https://www.behance.net/HeidiBoyce and i can post more of the details and messy molds if anyone wants. )
