I recently fell in love with the Re-ment "Sailor Moon Daily Life of Sailor Soldiers," miniatures. I have had no luck finding a doll in the 1:12 scale that would work with these miniatures that I like. Re-ment is supposed to work with with lines like Barbie etc. I haven't seen anything that I like enough to buy. I would love to find a BJD to go with them, but I don't have any experience with mature looking dolls in this size. I want something that looks like a teenage girl, not a little kid. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!
Hello, yes, one of my favorites! I only have one so far, but the portability of the mature 1/6 makes her my travel buddy. (Just in case you didn't know, Barbie's size range is usually considered a mature 1/6.) Some of my personal favorites in the size range: The smaller-headed girls from Maskcatdoll (I have Inez): https://www.maskcatdoll.com/1-6-26cm Some of MYOU's 1/6 are on more mature bodies: BJD MYOU DOLL Dollmore's 1/6 fashion line: dollmore, bjd, ball jointed doll, doll wig,bjd faceup, bjd collector,人形,球体关节人形,구관,구관인형,doll wig, doll bag, doll hair, resin doll, doll, doll furniture, doll hair, doll boots, doll shoes, doll clothes, doll outfits, saran hair, saran, doll making tool, doll pastel, painting color Asleep Eidolon's mature 1/6 (a lot look young in product photos, but would look much older with the right face up): https://www.aedoll.com/1-6-special-1 XagaDoll's special 1/6 (a lot of variation in ages here): https://www.aedoll.com/red-obisidian-1-6sp Granado's tinies, especially if you want someone more realistic or adult: https://www.doll-granado.com/shop?page=2 Liz from MissMianDoll is stunning: Stock【Whispering Girl:Liz】MissMianDoll 1/6 bjd There's a whole lot more if you include off-topic dolls. If you're interested in any of those, browse Brigadoon for threads that mention 1/6, mature 1/6, or fashion dolls; you'll have to wade through a bit, but you'll find tones of options!
If they work with Barbie, they should work with mature 1/6 size. Myou, Doll Leaves, Maskcat, Dream Valley, Atelier Momoni and a few other companies have options, mature tinies have been becoming quite popular. EDIT: dm_sof beat me to it
I'd just like to add Nina's Dolls as well! The Blooming Line is absolutely lovely and there's currently some in stock at the moment.
Oh, those are lovely! Thank you for introducing me to them! (Even if my wallet doesn't thank you, haha!)
If you want something that's more anime-looking, a friend of mine has an SiO2 Little Fairy. She's a mature 1/6 that's more anime-leaning, but still cute! SIO2 on Instagram: "Our new 1/6 BJD - Little Fairy series -Little Fairy 小仙仙 is now open for preorder~! We also have boy body and extra L bust this time. White skin and flesh skin are available. If you have any question, please feel free to contact us! https://www.etsy.com/listing/1044212449/sio2-doll-little-fairy-series-little?ref=shop_home_active_2 #sio2doll #sio2bjd #bjddoll #dollstagram"
I think pretty much everything has been said here, it's great to see that there are so many options in this line If you want something smaller, you also have the Pygmy Line from MerryDollRound, it's an artist from the EU but the dolls are really lovely I also think checking out resellers like LegendDoll which has many dolls from many companies for sale can give you some inspiration if you don't know where to begin
The 1/12 dolls I've found that work best with Re-Ment are the more adult versions, like Moona, the Elfdoll tinys, and Banji, since those props are often scaled for 1/8. Nissa (shown here) is an Elfdoll Sylph and is about 5" tall. NIssadesk by clochette62, on Flickr I haven't had much luck with 1/6 kiddos and Re-Ment, unfortunately...the props seem a tad small to me.
Adding in: Mimo Marina Oscar Pak and Siren are this scale as well as my personal favorites, Jacoosun Rous.
you're probably looking for a doll in the 21~25cm range, rement minis skew very slightly small for "true 1/6" adults like barbie which is around 28cm i think. rement "display" furniture is roughly 1/8 scale, while the stuff that actually comes in the blind boxes is probably closer to 1/16 scale (10-12cm). for off topic options, asian fashion dolls like licca or pureneemo are probably close to the scale you want. monster high and bratz are options in the west if you're ok with the cartoony style, draculaura is probably the most rement-compatible because she's shorter compared to other 1/6 dolls.
here is the link to the Brigadoon section, it's a part of this forum dedicated to the dolls that don't fit the main BJD category
