Tiny BlueFairy Discussion (Part 1) Ready for Wiki

Bluefairys can wear any clothes that Little Fair Angelregion dolls can because their bodies are basically the same.

 

Blue Fairy Tiny Fairies can wear almost any MSD-sized clothes. They can fit into minifee/Unoa clothes, except I think TF's legs are a little longer. Their body mold is the same as AR Little Fairs, so they'll fit nicely into Little Fair clothes. And from my understanding, they're slimmer than Volks MSD, so Volks' clothes might fit them loosely, depending on the clothing's style.

It would help if people know which Bluefairy body you were asking about - immature or blossom body?

Narae cannot wear all Tyler stuff. She usually cannot wear the slacks and I think the fit is iffy for clothes that are very tight and not stretch. Also her hands cannot get through tight sleeves or armholes.

Bluefairy immature bodies should measure the same as Angel Region bodies:

Neck 7.8cm

Unfortunately, I can never find the Bluefairy Blossom Body measurements anywhere! If someone reading this has a blossom body, then bust, waist, and hips would help.

Angelregion immature bodies are the same sculpt as Bluefairy immature. But I don't know if they were ever the same color.

Sorry I have no answer - that's all I could find. But it does show that Bluefairy and Angelregion do not use the same color resin for normal skin.

One question...

How do you buy a white blossom body? There is no color selection for the body on the Bluefairy or Minoruworld websites.

Mish, I just went and asked that question at their site - where does the length happen. But I also scrolled through the back questions, in case there was an unlocked one, and I found someone asking if the new body was taller. This was BF's answer:

The new dandy body is 1cm taller and is slightly bigger then the boy body.

I guess that means the torso is thicker too? Or are they just repeating themelves about the height?

The height of the new Dandy Body is about a centimeter taller and the body is a bit bigger then the TF Boy Body overall.

Some clothes can be shared but pants might be a little tight. If the clothes has some allowance, it could fit but we're sorry you would have to see it for yourself to know for sure.

I ask Bluefairy about the new Dandy body and this is the way it went down--

Dandy body is slightly bigger then the boy body in general. It is all newly cast therefore different from the boy body.

I pretty much fell in love with Blue Fairy dolls when I got my May (you can see pics of her in my flickr) a couple of months ago--they are by far my favorite of MSD sized dolls, and since that's my favorite size, they're... my favorite dolls!

I finally got around to putting eyelashes on my Walking w/Nov Tommy girl last night, I'll take pictures of her soon. She is truly adorable, just like the photos. It's really weird, because her resin is more of a pinky white than the beige white than my Sweet Day May's resin is. I like the difference, mind you~ it's just funny that the resin color would change even though there's only like an 8-month difference between the two.


Someone's probably mentioned this somewhere else on the boards, but just in case~ Leeke MSD-size shoes do not fit tiny fairies.

I was sooo terribly bummed to discover that they couldn't wear these adorable mary janes I bought--their feet are just too long (and believe me, I tried cramming!) I think Leeke shoes are made to fit slim MSDs, cause their shoes are extremely tight on my Volks MSDs, but fit perfect on my SDCs. Anyway, you've been warned!!!

 

The blossom and regular girl bodies are different in a few sizes besides the bust, the most noticable being the waist and hips. rkold noticed this when trying Unoa clothes on her BF girls. They'll fit the blossom bodies and be a little short, but are generally too tight to close on the regular girl body.

The blossom body and the normal girl body are very different in more than just the bust. I has pictures, but there is nudity as it is a body comparison... Basically, in addition to the blossom body have, uh, mature bosoms, it also has a narrower waste and actual hips.

Also, pixycrack, I think they are only selling the one offs at the World Doll Festival itself. At least, that's what I thought from reading their post. (It might be worth posting on their board to ask.)

 

They are skinnier than Volks dolls so depending on the outfit it may be a loose and baggy fit though some probably fit fine. The only Volks brand outfit I've tried on Hazel was the Toppi Baby the Stars Shine Bright red riding hood coat dress. It was overwhelming on her, but it's a coat dress so it's got kind of a large fit anyway- it looks fairly big on my friend's doll which is a Volks.

I think wigs should be interchangable. I haven't tried any Volks wigs, but general mini size wigs.

 

TFs can wear most 7/8 size wigs from most brands. Some Monique wigs of that size with short baby hairs, however, were loose in my experience.

and since TFs are thinner, though most msd sized clothes and the likes WILL fit in general, but if you care about the tight fit they'll all be loose. (and I should know that too since my life depends on their tight jeans )

Some Angel Region head sculpts and the body in question share same sculptor with TFs. ^^

limedragon Louis is a wonderful mould, personally it just took a while to get used to.

I FINALLY got those leekeworld shoes to fit on her!! I guess my SDC girls stretched them out enough this past month that I was finally able to squish her feet into them. Thank god, too, since she was the one I bought them for!

 

Lelei actually, i thought about getting hand parts from AR, but the resin color difference is quite noticeable or so i heard.

 

Hmm, I figured the resin difference would be noticeable for the normal skin, but I wouldn't think it would be that off for white skin? I was told the AR white skin is more 'paper' white than BF's usually is, but it's still probably closer than another company's white would be. :/

Moot point, anyway, I guess.

I did hear that Serendipity hand parts matched pretty well, but everything on their website is out of stock. I wonder if they stopped making dolls?

 

Does anyone have pics of the different size eye comparrisons? how much difference is there from 12, 14, 16 and finally 18? It'd be interesting to see the different sizes

 

Attention fellow BF owners:

I've kept my Sweet Day May's original eyes in since I got her new from the company last year in March. However, today I decided to change them out and discovered that the putty they use is Very Not Good. The resin is discolored yellow wherever the (tan colored) putty came into contact with it, and those areas are very pitted as well. I can't tell exactly what the putty is made of (it seems very greasy/waxy), but it is crazy hard to clean out of my doll's head (I'm in the process of carefully scrubbing the residue with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, with limited results).

I STRONGLY recommend that any BF owners whose dolls eyes are being held in place with the company putty, remove and replace it with a safe alternative asap.

I've never had any problem with kneaded eraser btw.

 

Wow. O_o I've always hated the feel of that putty, but knowing it's bad for the resin.... D : In goes the kneaded eraser. Gives me something to do today at least....

 

Huh, that's really weird. Maybe BF was trying a new product, or maybe it was used in limited instances since the eyes were glass rather than the acrylics they usually use? I'm glad to hear that BF dolls usually have better putty in their heads.

Anyway, I always assumed that my doll's eye putty was good since I had never heard anything bad about it on DoA, so I was shocked and appalled when I opened her up and found that the stuff was seriously ick. I'd still recommend that anyone who hasn't actually checked out their dolls' putty to poke around and make sure that it's the good stuff.

 

i always find it better not to use those putties... it sticks to my hand and i can't never get rid of the plastic-y feel on my skin. yuk. instead Ginarolo recommended silicon ear plug putty and they're great.

It's in Korean, and Google translator isn't all that much help. So I can't decipher if she's comparing yellowing, or resin differences. Either way, freakin' gorgeous dolls there.

 

I guess it depends what type of Volks clothing? As such, is what I buy at the Volks store Volks clothing?
I bought a little school girl outfit for my blossom body girl from Sato and the top is quite lose- skirt fits perfectly though.

 

Actually, all of the "MSD" sized clothing seems to be quite loose on TFs, they are a bit slimmer than Volks MSD dolls. Depending on the outfit it will generally look OK, but sometimes things look too large, I don't think you'd have much problem fitting a blossom body into Volks or other MSD clothing though since the flat chested TFs are too slim.

The DZ girl I swapped my Niky head onto is a few months old, so their 2nd mini girl body, and the pink resin... the Niky head looked perfect there, there were no problems to the fit. I don't know how things may have changed for the new double-jointed body (though that's probably what Elenra will get once I have the money). I'm pretty sure I did take pictures, but they'd be on my computer at home, so I can't get them until this evening.

Obviously, I had the same feeling of loving the face, but the BF bodies just don't work for the characters.

 

Old dollzone normal pink skin is really pale, it will not match bluefairy. They had some time really pink pink skin, I bought hands last spring (2008) and they were like pinker luts/CP. That color would propably match bluefairy. Right now they have switched back to the old pink skin, if I got this right:

I have finally got my bluefairu Olive! ^________^ Is she cute or what! *dies* She has a "panda" make up. x3 I will try to get pics later, she is very dear to me, even though her make up is really strong, but it looks like her should!

 

I own a Peak's Woods, and I've owned a Bluefairy. Maybe my Peak's Woods has yellowed a bit, but the PW resin seems a little more yellow and less pink than Bluefairy's. It might not be the greatest match, the PW resin is not pinkish.

So about the body for my May (which I BOUGHT. Officially.), the Dollmore body would be perfect for her... if the resin colors were not totally different. Dollmore resin seems like a really light peachy color. I think I'm just going to say "screw it" and forget about color match.

Yes, the option hands will fit because the body is the same sculpt--but I wouldn't recommend ordering from Angelregion. They are known for taking months and months to fulfill orders and sometimes not fulfilling them at all and canceling them after months of waiting (some people have waited up to a year.) I tried ordering some option hands last year, every time I asked when they would ship, they'd respond saying "We'll ship them next week" or "We'll ship them this month." After two months I made them give me a refund. :/ (There are DoA complaint threads about them here and here)

I've tried MiniFee and Dollmore hands but neither of their white skin resins come anywhere close to Bluefairy's, so I've given up on replacing them. T_T Their normal skins might come closer.

edit: actually here's the most recent thread about them. I don't know if since August they've gotten their sh*t together or not, but if you do decide to order with them, just make sure you're mentally prepared.

I second what Lelei has said about Angel Region. It's unfortunate, but the option hands don't seem to pop up on the second hand market that much either.

I am tempted to try AR again, maybe just get one pair this time and accept the risk of losing the $40 or having to wait a year for them. Maybe after I recover from xmas gift purchases.

I have a pair of Leeke boots that don't fit my BF or my Volks (they have a side entry zip, so that may also be a factor). The Volks, Dollmore and Dollheart boots and shoes I have all fit.

where can I find some info on what type of heads I can put with my Bluefairy TF NS girl body I cant seem to find which heads I can match to it, I was told MNF would be ok, or Delf kid, if anyone can help me or get me to the right thread that would be great, I would really appreciate it... TJ

 

I don't think MNF could match. My MNF girl, at least, is a lot less pink than my friend's BF Kyle. However, he is a few years old, so maybe someone with some newer resin could tell you better. For the moment, though, I would assume MNF doesn't work. And since MNF wouldn't work, that writes off the old KD resin. The newer KD resin is Real Skin, and I think that would be MUCH too pale for a BF body.

 

Mine isn't that bad really, with little blushing I got MNF head dark enough to match the BF body. If you find anyone who sells pinkier batch it's even better. Head is last year bought.

I agree with new real normal skin, it is way too pale.
