This is a great idea for a thread!

BJD Related: The doll I ordered from junkyspot is going to arrive on Monday! A wig and a pair of eyes I ordered on eBay for him are set to arrive then too, so I won't have to wait to put him together.

Not BJD Related: I'm hanging out with my best friend today! I haven't seen him in over a month because we've both been pretty busy, so I'm very excited.

 

bjd related -- I am knitting pants for Xaviera spider, I have 8 leg parts done which is quite humorous and possibly will turn out wonderfully

non bjd - I began a sour dough bread starter at the beginning of this year. this morning the best loaf so far came out of the oven.

 

Doll related- i just finished the faceup for my amazing guy Valere and already he's a camera hog
General- baby chicks today!

BJD related: I finished my first faceup! It isn't great, but at least it's finished! (The faceup process seemed like it would never end)

Not BJD related: I was very upset because the volunteer program I was going to participate in was cancelled because of the virus. I was coming back from receiving a reimbursement for the bus tickets, when I found a street vendor selling fully grown water lilies sprouts. I was so happy, though my mom underpaid the man, which sucks (she didn't have much physical cash on her, and could only pay half of the price of the flowers). Those flowers made my day!

 

BJD related: I found out I can get into an old building to take photos with my dolls.

Not BJD related: Possibly no commencement ceremony for my granddaughter's college graduation. Still she's getting a Double BA, she has worked so hard.

Ball Joint Doll related - I paid my final payment on my BJDivas layaway and my dragon will finally be on his way home!

Non BJD related - I got to have a relaxing morning just going through my stuff, plotting fun creative ideas with my cat curled up in my lap. I feel re-energized! Also, I have yummy roast simmering away in the crock pot for dinner.

 

Doll related: I found a wig I had been looking for for nearly a month lol

Non-doll related: Today is Pi Day so I bought a peach pie which is my absolute favorite

 

Doll related: I had a visit from a local friend in the hobby today. Wo spent hours just talking dolls, doll sculpting, doll casting, doll crafing and so on. It's great to have someone locally, I haven't had that since I moved.

General: It turnes out we have several other interests in common as well! Yay for new friends!

 

BJD-Related: My doll character Glynnis recently received a cleaning, a new face-up, and a secondhand wig. Many new ideas about her character have been coming to me, and I've been writing them down. She is very vivid and alive for me right now.

Not BJD-Related: We just paid off our house. Went to the bank yesterday, then had our last restaurant meal for a while. We have lots of food and food for the animals, and plenty of space on our property to wander for the next week(s) at home.

 

BJD related - I no longer have to think about selling off dolls for financial reasons

Non- BJD related - I got a new job offer with more pay and better benefits

BJD Related: I let myself make a small iple clothes order for my new twigling ingenue, because a dress I've wanted for years was up (and I don't think it has been all the time in that span!) was available. I'm now mentally writing a storyline where my assassin has to go to a formal event. The ingenue herself is blowing my mind, and I really want to keep spoiling her. Next comes the wig and the armour that I have to sculpt for her.


Not BJD-related: I handed in my term paper in my theory class yesterday. I got to write about Buffyand I feel really good about my paper

BJD Related: A cloth I ordered for my girl will arrive today! I can't wait to try it on her after work~ (Yeah working on sunday this week, but at least there's something I'm looking forward to!

Hm. BJD related? I paid off a layaway today, and am looking forward to two dolls arriving in or around June. Can't wait!

Non BJD...my daughter and my dogs always make me happy. Nothing like love and unsolicited hugs and kisses (even if the furry sector gets a little slobbery sometimes) to lighten the load and brighten even the darkest day.

 

BJD related: I finally got a wig for my boy that is better suited for him.
Non-BJD related: I finally got packed to leave, but I got delayed by snow, so I am giving myself an extra day.

 

Bjd related, I’ve spent the morning sewing yukatas, and enjoying our surprise snow storm.

Non bjd, also spent time planting our next crop of micro greens. I planted broccoli, peas, sun flower seeds, and clover. A nice way to have greens all year, regardless of the weather. Oh, and I fed our red wrigglers (worms). Um, yeah, I raise worms for composting, in the basement... It’s always a high light to see the worms. They are laying eggs, and soon tiny little worms will hatch. Meaning thousands more of hungry mouths to feed!

 

when I came in from the shops today, this girl filled me with joy as usual - she is just so beautiful and the light hit her a certain way and I feel so lucky to have her (impldoll large bust idol body, luts abadon head, faceup by angeltoast)

BJD-related: I spent the day just hanging with my favourite doll [off-topic - can't mention him here].

Non-BJD-related: Er... A true-crime YouTube marathon?

 

BJD related: - I’m going home Thursday and will get to see my dolls for the first time in over a month! Meet my new head, put my hybrid girl together finally and try a wig on one of my boys~

non BJD related: - despite breaking up with my partner this week I’ve been surrounded by a lot of love and support from my family and friends, which is making me feel special and validated in my decision to end a relationship that wasn’t for me

 

BJD related: Lily's wig shipped and I woke to Marci sitting on my nightstand, such a pretty girl.

non-bjd: ummm....uhh....Things have really not been good at all in any form. But...it's raining, and I love rain so that's the been the best part of my entire week.

 

Not much doll related, other than general enjoyment. But I found out at work that our little store finished 4th in the whole company worldwide yesterday.

 

BJD related: I got a package of props in the mail, from one of my favorite Etsy vendors.

Non BJD related: Spent the day with my sweetie.

 

BJD related: My cousin came by my apartment to help me assemble some shelves and she was absolutely lovely about my dolls. She'd seen BJDs on instagram before and was very nice to my dolls in person. The rest of my family is supportive, but I can tell they're a little creeped out so this was a nice change!

Not BJD related: My cousin helped me assemble some shelves in my new apartment, so if the virus ever dies down I can visit my parents and pick up the piles and piles of books I had to leave behind. I now have enough room to store the lot!

 

BJD related: I found some amazing fabric that I have made a tunic out of, for my Luna (Atelier Momoni Somni). Her outfit for Dollcon DK is now almost done and ready for whenever the con will be rescheduled to.

In general: Working from home is so good for my hubs. His stress levels are sure to go down. And I have a nice stash of chocolate, so everything is great on my end.

 

BJD related: I was offered a head I've been regretting not buying during pre-order for a year now, *plus* I've been able to work on a lot of my characters' stories lately which is just so much fun it's almost indecent

In other news: Emiko, our special needs cat who has to deal with more than one serious chronic condition, just turned 9 years old, which noone would have believed - especially after we lost her brother. Yay for the little fighter!
She's my heroine now^^

BJD Related I got my new tiny guy fast and I am excited to get him figured out.
Non BJD related, my granddaughter is out of school for awhile and so since mom & dad have to work and will as long as it's safe, my hubby & I are her teachers. It was the first day and she was so great. Hopefully I will still feel she's great after we do this for at least 15 days.

 

This is a lovely way to battle anxiety (which many people, including me, are struggling with right now)!

BJD-related - Hmm...some dolls I was hoping to sell are going to good homes fairly soon! I'm very happy about this because they are all beautiful, but I just don't have much time for them.

Non BJD-related - I just watched an adorable video of my 15-month-old niece "singing" with her mother, my sister. She go belt "AHHHHHHHHH" with the best of them

 

BJD Related: My Myou Carr arrived yesterday and I got all the fabrics and lace I need for his outfit together, so now I'm ready to sew!

Non-BJD Related: My cat found a loose piece of ribbon he really likes to play with today. It was fun watching him jump around to catch it!

 

BJD related: I've come up with an idea for a character for one of the gift heads I received from my last Peaks Woods order! She doesn't have her own body yet, but I'm trying to find one for her to borrow.

Non BJD related: getting my hours cut at work has left me with a gluttony of time to write my Egyptology essay and the subject is so far proving much easier than the last one! Hopefully, this one will go MUCH better than that one did.

 

BJD Related: I'm back to working on my Paladin project (an MtF mod) and that's always a blast and a half. Also I commissioned someone to paint a little chameleon doll to look like my late reptile son, who passed of old age earlier in the week, and it feels good that I can have that to remember him.

Non BJD Related: I had an online lecture today, and ended up writing a really passionate defence of a queer reading of goblin market for my fantasy lit class. Nothing takes my mind off of current events quite like 600 word rambles about victorian era women loving women.

(please note: I know the term queer can be contentious. I am using it in line with Queer theory, which is an academic term. I also personally will refer to myself as queer, as well as other lgbtqia+ individuals who are comfortable with it. this is kind of a blanket disclaimer I like to provide)

 

Non-BJD: I'm almost home at long last. It's been three days with one to go. Sometimes I wonder possessed me to drive home during a pandemic. It made the most sense logistics-wise, but still. It's been cool though.

BJD: With my next job in June and pressure to stay home, hopefully I'll have plenty of opportunity to work on doll stuff. Not catching my family's attention is the big thing.

 

Non-BJD: Things are absolutely bananas for professors right now. I wasn't teaching this semester to focus on the other side of my job, doing costumes for the theatre, dance, and operas on campus. With the pandemic, all those things have been canceled and we've moved online for classes. In spite of the terrible situation, I feel really lucky that I work at a place that is still paying me for all the events that have been canceled so I have nothing with my finances to worry about. It was a huge weight off my shoulders when I received the news.

BJD: I have nothing to do until next August, but a really nice, large costume shop at my disposal so I'm going to be making some doll clothing to keep myself busy. I'm thinking I'm going to make an Italian Renaissance dress for my Limhwa Elly. I made gobs of ones for humans this past year for Merchants of Venice so it should be super easy to accomplish.

 

BJD related: I'm able to purchase my favorite doll next month!!Been in love for so long.

non BJD: My animal Crossing switch is gonna arrive on Friday! yayyyy

Great idea for a thread!

It's not today, exactly, but I'll be paying off my layaway for Universe Doll Shiyu on Friday so I'll have a little more each paycheck in the face of all the shutdowns and things. It'll likely be ages before I get to meet him, but knowing he's paid in full will be a relief (for me and my wallet).

 

BJD related: My Pukifee, that was sent on 4 March, and that I thought would be a poor poor little Corona hostage in postal services for another month or so, because her shipping didn't update has made it to customs in Denmark, YAY! Never have I ever been this excited about a package being stopped in customs, because that means that she will soon be home!!!

Non bjd related: My husband baked some amazing bread. I just had the first piece, a warm crust-piece with a bit of butter and it was divine!

 

I Love this thread! I feel like we need some SERIOUS positive vibes right now.

BJD related: I'm revamping my collection and really focusing on my dolls right now. I recently started doing my own face ups and it was a huge impact on rekindling my passion for these dolls.

Non Bjd related: Prior to the COVID outbreak, I took this week off work. It just so happens that since the outbreak happened, my husband has been off work (and they will be paying him). So we've had so much family time with us and our two kids that it's been amazing.

 

BJD related: I made shoes for my new girl!!!


Non BJD related: Our house is (almost) ready for spring. (took down the greenhouse plastic) Edit: Oh and a little green tree frog spent the winter in the palm tree.

 

BJD Related: I've figured out what was stopping me from enjoying my dolls and it's going to be easier to bond with dolls now that I get it. I'm just very picky about eyes. The eyes I have in Rina (if I'm still calling her that) aren't the right colour, but they are the right size and the right style. I've learned that doll bakery eyes are The Eyes for me. Now I just have to hunt them down in the sizes/colours I want.

Non-BJD related: I got a grade that is barely even possible on an exam, and kinda rescued my entire GPA back into scholarship range. Bless this prof.

 

BJD related: I'm trading one of my girls for a grail of mine! I passed her up on preorder and now I'm getting her, yay!

Non-bjd: I was super productive working from home today. Very proud of myself!

 

BJD related, I finally got around to modding one of my dolls. I like how he looks now, I just need to dye him and he will be one step closer to being finished. I’ve only been putting it off for years.

Non doll related, I spent all day working on my island in New Horizons. My brain is fried. Still so much work left....

 

Bjd related - I found some cheap generic light up doll shoes that apparently fit minifee sized feet online. I’m 100% going to purchase the pink ones and I’m EXTREMELY excited to try them on my girl!
Also two of my dolls are finally getting new faceups, I can’t wait to see how they turn out! They shipped safely to the artist.

Non bjd related - I had tea and macaroons this morning, it’s beautiful outside, my eczema is clearing up, I had a very sweet good morning conversation with my boyfriend over text, I have a dnd session later that I’m looking forward to, my mental health is much better today as are my energy levels, and overall it’s just been a very lovely morning.

 

bjd related: i actually have energy and inspiration for them again, so hopefully by the end of the month my poor Mr. Kitty who has been naked since i got him because he's such a dang weird size will have some clothes.

non-bjd related: roomie made tasty SOUP and the datefriend is streaming fallout4 so i keep hearing some real choice out of context quotes through the wall.

 

BJD-related: I spent a morning working on the full-body tattoos I had planned for my girl since before even buying her. It's taken half a year and it's honestly making such a difference to how much she is 'my' character.

Non-BJD: I suffer from binge-eating, and it's been an entire week without binging --something I haven't managed since relapsing around christmas last year (I'd been recovering pretty well for months before that). It makes me think I can get back to where I was, and it makes me very calm and content.

 

BJD related: I just ordered a new carrying bag for my dolls.

nonBJD related: It’s my ten year anniversary today.

 

BJD related: enjoying playing with my bjd dolls and reorganizing them, also plan my bjd future buy and saving

non BJD related: finish spring cleaning , catching up on reading lots of books , and binge watching lots of show, and gaining weight while at it lol

 

BJD related: Having dolls around is a sure way to always have something to do! And I've now got all the materials I need to get on with a mod project that has been stalled for ages.

Non BJD related: The neighbor just across the street has a HUGE magnolia tree in front of his house. Today the majority of the buds opened up. The view from my kitchen window is gorgeous!

 

BJD related I got this head that I have been wanting but not enough to order it from the company, someone had it for sale on the MP. Happy me! Then I found a uniform for him to wear!

Non BJD related my Granddaughter is graduating with a BA in Sociology in ten days!!! Happy family.

 

BJD related: I stumbled upon some nice fabric for my boy, thinking it'll make some awesome pants & a coat of some sort. Excited for him arrive so I can start experimenting.

Non BJD related: I have baby ducklings I'm raising up in my dining room, they're about 3 weeks old now and have finally stopped being shy around my hand. Can't wait for them to grow so I can put them in their outside pen & enjoy their swimming pool. ❤️

non-BJD related - I still have a job and so far the family is healthy.

 

BJD related- I am saving up for my first doll and i'm probably going to order her in the next month or two!

Non-BJD related- My roller skates came in!

 

Bjd related- ive been working on my mushroom peddler hazel all weekend I finished her wig. I was able to make some butterfly wings for her. And start on a outfit for her. I haven’t been able to really play with my dolls in so long I really enjoyed focusing on her.

non bjd related-I got a lot done this weekend at home. Planted some flowers, laundry and stuff. Like someone else here said I still have a job and my family is healthy. ❤️

 

Bjd related: my latest spending spree is repopulating my collection the way I want it, and is bringing two dolls I’ve wanted for years home: twigling Eloy and feeple65 vampire Sylvia—not to mention the preordered dolls. And my missing ingenue went unmissing, and showed up in great shape. Very un-yellowed for a girl from 2012!

non-bjd related: my rescue chameleon just came home with me, and he’s the angriest boy. I absolutely love him. He’s in really good condition, even though he has had issues in the past. I’m going to be making heart eyes at a pissed off lizard all day!

 

BJD Related: I have absolutely no orders pending at the moment for anything doll related at all. Is nice to be done.

Non-BJD Related: I finally get to have a haircut on Saturday. Yay!! Also, my dog is really cute. I love her so much.

 

Bjd related: I ordered 30cm Granado Galileo and Cal's 18th century outfit is getting close to being finished. Rearranging 1/4 of the doll dioramas in my room after I paint the wall behind it.

Non-BJD related: I used to just not like going out but now I'm scared to, even with my mask on, though it's mostly for my pollen allergies.

 

Doll related, I finally got a doll to shell Edogawa Conan and started working on his clothes! Otherwise, I reorganized my collection of over 400 seeing patterns today and that's always really satisfying. ❤️

 

I meet a doll artist via Ins and we had a nice chat, meanwhile I launched my commission post in my Ins, positive feedback from followers really makes me happy

General: My dad and I got our first cauliflower buds in our garden yesterday!! So cool!!!
