Well here you can see some really drastic changes of my very first doll, performed in 3 years :3

Kadaj DIM MNM: 2009-2012, the most drastic changes were modifying the wig further, to make it look more slate grey and less plastic-y, and the eyes.

DZ BB July: 2008-2011, he's in limbo now; I got rid of his body, and was planning on modifying him again, but now I don't think I will.

 

Oh, this is a really neat thread! I haven't been in the hobby long enough, but I will be sure to contribute once I have something significant. It's sort of amazing how much a doll can change!

 

Today on the left, when I first got her on the right. I still have and like that wig -- and I'll take some photos with it tomorrow, when it'll be too damp and snowy to use my custom alpaca wigs -- but that faceup/those eyes were just the worst. She looked so grumpy!

Wiishu and Pooki have mostly grown in their wardrobes. They're both chameleons, in that they love to cosplay and love clothes and crazy wigs. These are samples from their box openings, in the clothes they arrived in, to their newest.

The first picture was from 2012. Her name used to be Dahlia and she had black hair and lilac eyes,but I never really did much with the character.

I put up with the fact that the character does not really suit her, so I changed her style and name.
There used to be Amalthea, now Amanette, not too much difference , but now I perceive it differently.

 

Here is Alex shortly after I got him in 2008 (ill-fitting clothes, default faceup, acrylic eyes and silver (ugh) wig he came with because I couldn't find a blonde one anywhere)

Guórén had finally come into his own after spending a lot of his early years looking meh. He's now the oldest of my crew still in his original form, so he's a visual record of how much I've also improved throughout the hobby.

Its our anniversary this month!
November 2008, Acacia Rose found me.
(My girlfriend had a blank basic Dollinian bjd left over from her doll shop. I was ready to test the idea of buying what was an expensive doll for me. No shipping hassles. I received her over lunch while we chatted in a restaurant. XD )
My girlfriend gave her her first faceup.

My original attempt at dressing her depended on pieces picked up at my first meet up & I had a lot to learn about taking photos.....


She changed character, becoming Amelia Peabody by 2010. Went through a couple more faceups & this is her current fancy look.

Arhain, Doll in Mind Minimee Elf Event head, came to me blank in November 2008. The first pic is the first faceup I gave him, before deciding who the head would be, then he had a couple of faceups before his most recent one (also need to update it). He also went from having Kemper acrylic eyes, to Soom silicone eyes, to Soudoll eyes.

My Iplehouse SID Theo came to me in April 2011 with the faceup on the top left, then I made him into my character Lupus (two pics for the eye change), then he became Milkshake. His current look is in the last pics.

Amazing transformations
Mine was just a "legend doll" head when I received her. I added a body and changed her face she looks totally different now.

Hi thought i share my minifee miyu. Previous owner modded her sleeping head into a half open eyes and sold her. She's a bit mellowed but to be honest it didn't bothered me. I did change her face up tho and i do love her face expression now especially the half closed look
I still struggle for a name for her so if you have any ideas please do share

Hmm, the only one of my dolls that has really changed over the years is my #1 Azrael. He arrived in January 2014, and for comparison, that's him again January of this year. He's probably one of my most well travelled dolls (heads), having gone from China to my dealer in the UK (Angelesque), then down to me in Australia, over to Russia for a face up, back to me, over to the USA for another face up, then back to me again.

Oh, thank you for the lovely compliment for Pen! That outfit is from CustomHouse (the now-closed Korean company that Pen came from -- he is a CH Gene from 2004); it's always been one of my favorites.

 

My boy Dakota is my oldest and most changed and changeable (he travels with me and has the most outfits and wigs ).

His original look (purchased second-hand by my sister, who eventually gave him to me, sometime around 2009ish, I believe, give or take a few years).


And his look now, with a new face up and (sort of) brighter green eyes (both done by me, my first attempt at a face up on a resin doll, and resin eyes).

 

I had something in mind for Ante when I got her in December but it took me a while to get it right, in the meantime I worked on photographing yosd size so I think her look and my photos of her improved.
