< @Osaka -- I KNOW RIGHT? I don't have K or Mir but I have the other three and they are my precious. Aden is such an unbelievably underrated mold, I swear to god there's only like three of them on the forum.

v Because it IS a classic and I feel like passing it on -- who is your favorite sculpt?

 

^ I have a lot I love, but seeing as I own three and still want more, I'll have to give it to CP Shiwoo. Which is a sculpt I actually couldn't see the appeal of when I first started in the hobby!

< Why am I so inspired to do things for my dolls when I have no time? Please just wait until January, motivation!

^ Dollmore Kara Klum is my favorite sculpt, and I think Ringdoll K might be a second at this point, even though I don't own him yet. He's just gorgeous.

^ Bambicrony Emily in tan. They are 4 out of the 8 dolls I own.

v Keeping it going. What's your favorite sculpt and do you own it?

 

^ I can't say I have just one favorite... But my very first dollfie love, and my touchstone, is also Volks Shiro Tachibana. Yes, I have every edition of him. Volks did 4 releases (two versions of SD13, SD17, and Yo-SD), so my shelves are happily crowded with a Shiro Army.

< Doctor tomorrow for me too-- the kind where I have to fast for 6 hours beforehand! Not even liquids.

v Has your doll got any kind of addiction?

 

^ Kettero has a nicotine addiction. His partner has been trying to get him off of cigarettes slowly with patches and limiting how many he can have a day. It's slowly working other than his foul attitude without his fix.

< I've been safe for almost a year with no dolls but Luts' new event head has snagged my heart. He looks like a big Soom Trond aaaah!

v How does your doll/character handle family gatherings? Do they take it well or try to avoid it at all costs?

 

^ Christian hates family gatherings, and will make the lamest excuses to not have anything to do with them.

v I liked the addiction question but will spin it a bit--does your doll have an addiction or serious vice?

 

^ Kiyo's vice is...other people. He's a terrible flirt and he has no concept of gender-as-a-barrier-to-relationships. He is also a TERRIBLE flirt, as in he really, really, REALLY sucks at it.

v Any supernatural phenomena amongst your doll crew?

 

^ Two actually, with plans for more bwhaha. I have Celestina who is a spirit from the Day of the Dead and my newest girl who is a forest spirit. So they count as supernatural right? Lol

V what was the first doll that you saw that made you fall in love with bjds? ^_^

 

^ I bought him some shirts and pants.

v Does your taste in clothes for your doll reflect your own (similarities in style, or total opposite)?

 

^ Not really. There are some who wear stuff I'd wear, but I make a conscious effort to keep their styles true to the character they're shelling.

I can't really tell which sculpt it was. I spotted a BJD on deviantArt and was like "I NEED this." I considered getting an Obitsu (I did get a bunch of OT little ones), but then I discovered Iple ... the first I really wanted was Eva, until they released Stella. I own both now.

v So ... your dolls(' characters) and the "human factor". Do they have "flaws / issues"? Habits? Random little things that make them more human?

 

^ For writing purposes, I once did that thing where you circle all your characters flaws out of a huge list to make sure they're more well rounded and I found that Alex has way more flaws than he has good qualities. Pretty much his whole personality is made of flaws. *sigh* I'm doing it wrong.
I could type them all out, but I'd run out of character space.

^ Oh yes. Christian has a tendency to self-destruct and withdraw, he's secretive, and he gets really bossy toward his younger brother.

^ Dave totally blows it on a new synth.

v Do you accessorize your dolls? What's your favorite accessory?

 

^ Yes! I love accessories! They always have earrings, or bracelets, or necklaces or all of them. Hats, beanies, caps, earphones, books etc etc it's like they always have to have something on besides clothes XD

v have any of your dolls fallen in love? if so, please share the story!

 

^ Yes! Ed and Jace are actually based both on their existing characters and on the events of a journal RP where I played Ed. He met Jace early on, they got along well and became best friends, then Jace developed a crush on Ed and it eventually became mutual. It was really a lot of fun to play, and when I decided to finally finish my Ed doll I'd been working at for a while, I decided to use the version that came out of that game, instead of just the canon version, which meant Jace had to come along. (I also have a couple other couples where I have both of the dolls: Gabriel and Esa, Gabriel and Maren (it's a V), and Alphonse and Emilia.)

< I'm a little bummed the ridiculous fanfiction stream I was going to watch isn't going tonight, but I need to get this paper done so it's a blessing after all.

v Let's do the counter of this one: Do you have any dolls who are mortal enemies (or otherwise can't stand each other)?

 

^ I do have Batman and the Joker. I think that's about as mortal enemy-esque as you can get.

V any lovers or enemies in your group? Stories!

 

^ Yes, many lovers--I like my dolls to have boyfriends and girlfriends and the like. With so many dolls, it's too hard to go into everyone's stories. ._. Most of them met in college or high school or at work. I don't have many enemies, but Sev and Alan do not like each other very much, and take verbal and occasionally physical shots at each other.

< @VampireAngel13 --he's the Maryest Sue ever. XDD We had a good laugh over it, really. We now joke that he is The Most Interesting Man in the World.

v Anyone else with lovers or enemies in your crews?

 

^ Oddly enough, my dolls are all 100% single. No pairings, no mortal enemies, nothing like that. Everyone sort of exists in their own separate bubble.

Also it makes me VERY HAPPY OMFG to open up Tumblr and find the translations for Haikyuu 183 as the very first post. That made my night.

v Twisting the question -- anyone got dolls with lovers/enemies that belong to other people?

 

^ I was ready to say no to this question but then I remembered that my best friend (who is my #1 enabler) said we should make YO sized 'Chibi' DC characters now....so she has Harley Quinn and when my FL Pong arrives, I'll have Joker. So yes. If she ends up with Catwoman I have Batman so it'll be two. Other than that (and if they're Chibi versions do they count?) no.

V Which of your doll's characters is the most responsible, and which is the very least? What is their relationship to each other (if any)?

 

^Monday is probably the most responsible, while Tuesday is probably the least. Monday is studious and Tuesday only cares about having fun.

< I finally did it, I bought clothes for a doll I don't have yet. and I need to lose 19 more lbs to put her together.But only 4 for her head! so...yeah justifying! :P

vWhat was your best experience buying a doll?

 

^ Probably when I bought my first doll. I bought him direct from the company, and he was in stock so i didn't have to wait that long at all.

<....i'm not cut out for this hobby's community.

v What are your largest and smallest dolls?

 

^ Largest is "Big Ed"/SD Edward Elric/"Edmund." He's one of only two SDs I own, and as a type 1 Delf (vs I think type 3 for the body of Jace/Jaeson?), he's slightly taller than the other, and therefore my largest. I've got mostly MSDs and under, so getting even a single SD was a pretty big step, especially after I failed epically with my first one.

Smallest overall is my Aileen Dolls Pico Violet dragon, and smallest on-topic doll is my PukiPuki Pukisha, who's slightly taller than the Violet. Most of my collection falls into a range between 45cm and 27cm, and I've so far resisted the super-tinies (though if my friend keeps letting me play with her RealPukis, who knows what'll happen).

v Too mind-numbed from this paper to words a new question, so repeat: biggest and smallest dolls?

 

^ My biggest is Samir, my Iplehouse EID Tedros on the Model body. My tiniest is Daphne, my April Story Minggu, who is between Puki and Pukifee sized. She is in Samir's lap at the moment and it is hilarious.

v What makes up the bulk of your doll family? SDs, bigger-than-SDs, MSDs, tinies, extra-tinies?

 

^most of my collection is SDs

^ my biggest doll is Felix who is 69 cm tall, and my smallest is Nissh at 11 cm.

V do you have any dolls in relationships with other dolls? Felix and Roskva are married!

 

^ Katen has a fraternal twin brother, Kyokotsu, who lives at @ukelala's house.

v Do you do anything special with your dolls to celebrate the holiday season?

 

^ Every year Alex has things like this happen to him for the holiday doll meet.

V What size is your favorite, and why?

 

^ I've gotta go with minis. They're big enough to look mature and get mature-looking clothes for, but small enough to more easily set up scenes and find space for (and carry with me to conventions and events). I love the presence of my SDs, and I love the portability and fun of my tinies, but overall the minis tend to have the best of all worlds for me!

v What do you think of the odd in-between-size dolls out there? The not-quite-tinies, not quite-minis, or the extra-petite SDs, or even the extra-large (in between the size of a large doll and a human!) ones.

 

^ the only bjds I've seen and handled in person are my MNFs and LTFs, and I like both sizes but prefer the MNFs. I can't see myself getting anything bigger than mini sized. I'm a petite person and I think it would be overwhelming and I don't have room. I am interested in some of the smaller sizes FL offers but I think I'd like to see them in person first.

v how many different bjd sizes do you have?

 

^ Just one -- my entire collection consists of 1/3 dolls. I've had minis in the past and I find I just prefer the bigger boys (and girl).

< Great. Just when I think I've pried myself out of Haikyuu!! hell, DRAMAtical Murder pulls me in. URGH THERE IS NO END.

v Got any dolls based on characters not of your own creation?

 

^ Not so far. Though I can't say I haven't considered getting a doll to be my Touhou girl. All the Touhou girls.

< Why am I awake at one thirty in the morning? Again?

v Do you have any dolls that are neither male nor female? Whether in their sculpt, their character, or anything.

 

^Actually yes, the doll in my avatar is physically male, but character wise neither male or female. Or equally both.

< It's freeeezing outside! I am so not a winter person.

v Did you ever take photos with real animals with one of your dolls?

 

^ absolutely. Not intentionally, but as soon as I venture into kitty controlled space, there will be a cat in at least one of the pics. (Most don't get uploaded though.)

< Trying to get back into the swing of things after an unplanned quasi-hiatus ... how do people do it?

v Have you ever taken time-out from the hobby?

 

^ No more than a couple weeks/months at a time, and I don't consider it time-out so much as I was just too busy to do anything, or distracted by some other hobby or life. It's never easy to get back to something even after a short break (I still can't get back into my comic), but I usually try to do something big that will get me back interested again - makeover a doll I've got, buy new things....just post a lot on here or blog. Or something. I find diving in is better than wading, kinda gives you no choice but to swim or drown.

V Ever had any dolls who's character you switched around/changed?

 

^ Yes I bought a new doll, and one of my boys changed his character to be together with new one.

v Do you own your Grail Doll? If no, why?

 

^ I own one of them -- a Dollshe Afghan. The reason I've got her and not the other is I was offered the chance of a lifetime to buy a VERY difficult-to-find doll, and I jumped all over it. The other is Volks Shirou Tachibana, and I know that eventually I'll have the money when one comes up for sale so I'm just waiting on that.

v What's your definition of "grail doll"?

 

^ For me, a "grail" is that doll that stops your heart and makes your eyes go wide, and for whatever reason, it's not an easily available. Maybe it was a limited, or is out-of-production, or it's an artist doll that only comes along once in a blue moon. (I have a really hard time applying "grail" to a bog-standard, go order as soon as you have the money doll.) There needs to be that sense of unattainableness, of the quest to find and procure it. (In my own case, even though Unidoll Jace is my favorite sculpt, I don't consider him a grail because he was a production doll and I just waited to the last minute on getting him. My Isao, though, he is my first grail, and I lucked into getting his head very easily.)

< Today is for working on Christmas gifts, yes yes. Need more coffee to run the sewing machine and to knit.

v Who's on your "grail doll list" at the moment?

 

^ A doll I'm currently staring at, Doll Chateau Sexta.

v Have you ever wanted a doll so bad. But before you even think of putting it in the cart you end up full of questions in your head if it's a good idea or not. Then next thing you know you're complaining to all your friends asking for advice and squirming in your chair?

 

^THIS IS ME. THIS IS EXACTLY ME. Haha.... Luckily its only two people who have to deal with my incessant worrying but it happens aalllll the time.
Usually I end up talking myself out of it but occassionally one eeks through now and again.

^ Yes, yes I do, and I am fairly certain they will destroy me for it :P

^ Sometimes! Usually I make something, but I frequently spoil Wotan's dolls more than mine. XD

v Your doll has been invited to Thanksgiving! What do they bring for the feast?

 

^ Depends on which doll and group. With the fandom-based ones, unless Ed's actually handling the main feast itself (he's no slouch of a cook, actually, and could do the turkey with no problem), he and Alphonse would probably bring side dishes. Mashed potatoes, green beans, maybe some creative veggie dishes. Winry and Razzy have the desserts handled, and Jace is banned from actually making anything (he's a terrible cook). With my OCs, most of them are high-enough ranking that they'd not only be throwing the feast, but having it prepared for them by staff. And since they have staff handling most of the cooking, most of them are also pretty terrible at it, so you'd better hope that either their staff handles it, or they stopped to pick something up on the way!

^Saturday wants people to think she loves pie, but really, she loves turkey skin the best.

^ most of my dolls keep to one set each. 3 have 2 and more pairs of eyes that I tend to change fairly regularly.
< Right, so now I have 2 dolls I wish to buy in the coming years. And, I haven't even clasped eyes on Dollshe's new 18M boys yet.
V what does your doll ask for and that you always postpone?

 

^ Some real clothing, she's been in the same out of character outfit since I got her.

v Have you ever bought a doll and ignored it?

 

^ Not intentionally... but it's worked out that way a few times, anyway. My Soom Arkose, for instance. I had him for nearly a year and took him out of his box maybe twice in that entire time. Eventually I just admitted the obvious... I didn't like him all that much once I saw him "in person"... and sold him on. A similar thing happened to my GomiDoll Igon head years back, and an Angel Studio Gabriel.

< I really need to work on my new SHeliot twins' outfits. What they're wearing at the moment doesn't suit them at all. And doesn't match. THEY MUST MATCH! >_<

V Do you have a pair of dolls in your crew who tend to end up in similar, or even completely matching, outfits or colors?

 

^ Like had it arrive and completely ignore it from day one? No. But I have a couple I've received, tried different looks on, not really work out, so I've put them away for a while to focus on other dolls that were coming together more quickly. Then I'd get the others out and give them another try.

^ I started buying things I liked in more than one color so it just sort of happened. Two of my dolls are non-identical twins, though--in my avatar. Their dresses are the same except for the color of the lace trim. They have several almost the same except for the color outfits. I have too many clothes. And yet not enough. I like to change their outfits at least once a week.

< I'm hungry.

v How much of your time is Doll Time?

 

^ Very, very little. I'm not a hands-on hobbyist, so I don't spend a ton of time dressing/painting/modding/sewing/whatevering.

v What's your doll more likely to do: shop for presents online or brave the slavering masses in the stores?
