The Shell-First Game!

Name: Selina Eddowes
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Personality, Etc.: Intelligent, curious, and playful. She has a serious, determined side, but most never see it, or really need to-- that tends to come out when there's something serious that needs taking care of. Most will just see her as mischievous in a good-natured way, and light-hearted, witty...

She's the oldest child and so she has a lot of responsibilities-- and being a teenager, she sometimes blows them off when they aren't too vital, to be able to do her own thing. But, she cares deeply about her younger siblings, and so if something involves caring for them, she'll prioritize that.

Inspired by the whole theme of the company photos, I feel like she has to be a witch-- she's a young apprentice witch, studying under her aunt, and that does make her an important part of the community-- or at least a future important part of the community. It's a role that her neighbors all respect, because every town needs at least one good witch, and everyone knows that she's got the brains for it.

Her most important relationships are with her family-- her parents, aunt, and little sister and brother-- and with her cat, then with her school friends. She's not really very interested in boys, compared to them. She's very focused on her apprenticeship and feels like love will happen when it happens, with... well, whoever it happens with. It's not something she stresses out about.

She dresses very plainly, preferring sturdy boots for hiking and clothes that will stand up to long foraging trips through the woods, and that will stand up to babysitting. She's never needed to dress with flash in order to attract attention, anyway. If she has a bit of vanity, it's for her hair, not her clothing. She likes soft, muted, natural colors.



If I was going to alter the faceup, it would be to be more peachy and warm, less heavily made-up around the eyes... maybe faint freckles, but I'm not married to that idea. I think she's a cute sculpt, but looks a bit on the young side-- like, I feel like I would love her as a MNF but she seems young for an SD. I'm super in love with her fullset, though, it seems to suit her and it made it so easy to spin the idea of a young witch. She definitely has a lot of personality to her!


And I'll put up Luts KDF An just to see what someone else would come up with for the sculpt, since I've got such a fondness for it.

- Age: 19

- Gender: Male

- Personality & characteristics synopsis: Lake is the apprentice of a famous and very powerful wizard, but he's struggling with his lessons and longs to leave early 20th century London. Though he's a gifteb magic user himself, Lake has trouble with structured learning environments, and his master's abrasive personality and ridiculously high expectations isn't helping things. Lake was born in the country, and the dank, smoky streets of London don't appeal to him in the slightest. He's been away from home for two years and misses his family, but how can he go back and tell them that he failed when they were so hopeful for him to escape a life of farming and poverty?

Lake is generally sweet and soft-spoken, though there's a lot of acerbic wit under his calming smiles. Make sure you're listening carefully, or you may not catch his subtle jokes and jabs. He wants to please everyone around him, but becomes discouraged easily and will often stop what he's doing if he doesn't have someone to support and encourage him.

I love KDFs! And An's outfit kind of reminded me of a paper boy or something, so I wanted to do an apprentice of sorts. Lake dresses much more casually than a lot of the smart gentlemen of the early 20th century, which annoys his master even more.

Name: Ivan Vasiliev
Age: At least 500
Gender: Male
Personality & Characteristics: From his wispy expression and fancy clothing, I see him as something of a fairy tale character. Ivan is a nobleman who used to be arrogant, selfish, and cruel, considering the whole world as his playground. Nobody liked him but could do nothing about him due to his power and status. He loved being young and handsome, so one day he sought out a witch and wished for immortality. But his wish came with a curse--he became immortal but at the cost of never being able to leave his castle.

Ivan's centuries of living alone, imprisoned in his own home, have changed him significantly. At first he raged and fought against his imprisonment and tried to find ways to escape, but after every single attempt failed, he gave up and resigned himself to his fate. Now he is a quiet, almost ghostly presence. He rarely talks since there's no one to talk to and has become a pensive and thoughtful person, since he's had hundreds of years to reflect. He now regrets the way he used to be, and now is gentle and kind to the few visitors he does get--mainly mice and the occasional stray dog. He loves animals and nature, a love that has been sharpened by his years trapped indoors. He can often be seen sitting by the window, watching the world go on outside his castle. He no longer has any hope of escaping, though.

He likes to compose poetry and play his violin. The halls of the castle echo with the lonely, soulful music, but sooner or later it dies away. The nearby villagers all believe the castle is haunted. All they know of Ivan are the brief glimpses they catch of him through the windows and the faint strands of violin music that drift over their village sometimes.

Name: Avar
Age: 137
Gender: Male
Personality & characteristics synopsis: A mercenary far from his homeland, his presence unnerves the rest of the army. His past and even family name are unknown, and the only information one can get are half-truths and rumors. All that is known for sure is that he and the general apparently worked together in some conflict in the distant past and forged a bond in blood. And now Avar feel that he owes the man his allegiance. The general's trust carries a lot of weight, and that satisfies most for now. Still, his red eyes, an uncommon sight, seem stare down the humans he works with. He runs the men ragged, and when they complain, he ask if they will tell their enemies the same thing. On the battlefield, one is more likely to be appreciative of his help, but the cold fury with which he fights frightens even his allies.

He is a perfectionist, and holds himself to a high standard that he expects everyone around him to follow. He constantly doing something, be it polishing his armor, sharpening his sword, or tidying his quarters. Woe to the man found doing nothing in his presence, whether they were actually lazing around or just taking a short break. He wakes early to supervise drill and sleeps late after going over plans, and the soldiers don't know whether to be angry that he never seems tired or content to know that he at least doesn't set a double standard.

One story going around is that someone went off to get a drink at the well, but sensed that he was being watched. He turned and saw nothing. Then a hand clamped over his mouth while his knife was taken from his scabbard and put to his throat.

"Be thankful it was me and not someone else," Avar said, his eyes reflecting the light with that strange white glow peculiar to elves. "You should pay more attention." Then he turned and melted back into the night.

Needless to say, the soldiers were on their toes after that.

Name: David L. Chambers (the name David just really does suit him I guess, haha)
Age: 23
Gender: Demiboy/male-leaning-genderfluid
Personality: Deep at heart, he's really sweet and cares about people, but he projects an ice prince(ss) demeanor a lot of the time. In part to protect himself from getting hurt in a relationship-gone-sour, in part just to be cool, really. It's easier to get along by playing a role with people sometimes. Mostly prefers to keep to himself and to enjoy solo pursuits, where he doesn't have to put up a front. Not that he doesn't enjoy going out, just that it's easier to stay in. He has a few close friends, who know that he's not so icy, but they don't spoil the facade when they go out together.

He's artistic, and likes animals. Enjoys dabbling in different hobbies. He'd love to travel more and thinks it would be broadening, but doesn't have the means to go far, so he settles for day trips with his small friend group, out to nearby cities that have more to see and do.

Gender: female
Personality: Well meaning and determined, though it can sometimes lead to people seeing her as thinking only she has knows what to do. She works well as a leader but is awful at following. Deep down, she just thinks the world is a beautiful place and wants to fix it.

She's half celestial being, half mortal, though she takes more after the mortal half. Her magical abilities are pretty numerous, though she favours time magic. She's a little disdainful toward non-celestials, because she identifies so much with her father's side of the family and with these almost god-level abilities. She works with a little group of other celestial and partially celestial entities that go around the universe 'restoring' things. This is a double edged sword, as restoring both entails destroying what they think jeopardises the universe and bringing back what they think was good. They are the enemies of one certain god of chaos who winds up out and about after the universal barrier gets ripped.

She has a thing going with one of the others in the group, and their name is Anaura. they met at the top of an icy mountain, in a place called the edge of the sky. She likes the cold and the sky, and dislikes being limited.

Personality: A spirit that takes on the appearance of an injured young woman in order to lure people to their deaths. Originally only preyed on those who tried to take advantage of her apparent injuries, but as she got older she began to indiscriminately kill whoever approached, regardless of good or bad intentions.

Her voice is high and has an eerie quality to it, like an instrument that's slightly out of tune. Sometimes she sings to try and lure people in, but more often than not it ends up with them leaving because her voice spooks them.

She derives sustenance from her victims, so it could be argued that she's just doing what she has to in order to survive. (They probably wouldn't see it that way, though.) She has a cold and calculating temperament and doesn't get along well with most others. People who are similar in personality to her can get along with her okay, but she wouldn't call any of them friends.

Age: 16
Gender: Female
Personality & characteristics synopsis: After moving to a new city, Helen took the opportunity to reinvent herself. Seeing her old self as boring, she introduces herself to her new classmates as Raven, and builds up a mysterious persona. She is constantly scared of her friends finding out the truth, and keeps them at arms length. Her parents aren't sure why she never invites her friends over or why she has had such a drastic personality change, and her friends, trying to decipher the half-truths she tells people, have inadvertently started many rumors. And that is just the way she likes it.

She has an older brother who is a bit of a drifter, and she thinks that he is the coolest person ever. He is the only one she introduces to her friends on the few occasions he drops by. He is willing to keep her secrets as long as she doesn't tell her parents about his escapades.

...Aaand I just saw the thing saying "boy". I guess that makes her trans, but I imagine she would also keep that close to the chest.

Gender: Male
Personality & characteristics: One day, three strange new people moved into the long-abandoned house at the outskirts of town. The eldest one, it was rumored, was a wizard of vast power. He never left the house, but the other two, his assistants, eventually started going to the park to watch the town children play. The children were wary of the mysterious strangers, but in the innocent way of children gradually accepted them as friends. They are still very odd though, and no one knows anything about their true origins or purpose.

Cygnus is twins with Anati; both dress up like swans but Cygnus is the black swan. Unlike his more bubbly and vivacious sister, he has a soft-spoken personality. In fact, for the longest time he didn't say a single word except to whisper in an unfamiliar language with Anati. Otherwise, he would stand back and watch the other children with those deep, dark eyes. Perhaps he scared them at first, but over time he started showing signs of a deep empathy and kindness. He would wordlessly comfort children who were upset, return lost items, help a child tie his shoe or push a swing. After a while he made a few close friends among the children, especially the smaller and quieter ones, and started talking to them on occasion, though not as often as he does to his sister.

Anati is extroverted and playful and has an infectious laugh; however, she can be capricious and attention-seeking. Her quieter, gentler brother is an excellent balance to her. And while they're now accepted as part of the town children, nobody still knows what their wizard master even looks like, let alone what he wants....

(Yeah oops I sort of ended up making a profile for Queena as well but I think she and Douglas go in a set, haha).

How about Myou Doll Alair?

Age: 17
Gender: Male
Personality & characteristics: Michael- never Mike- is the youngest of 7 brothers in a very wealthy family with a long tradition. He is not expected to do anything except be the baby of the family and live on the wealth of his father and older brothers. He feels lost and listless as if the world doesn't need him and doesn't care that he exists, but he has a kind nature even though he is often seen as aloof. Michael enjoys walking up and down the aisles of the estate's grand library and educating himself in old lore of the area.

On a particularly warm morning for their northern province, Micheal found a manuscript in an old language he struggled to read, but he managed to make out the gist of the flourished, handwritten document, only to discover that their family kept a very disturbing secret......

Personality: Soft and gentle, a dreamer. Robin lives a quiet, simple life, enjoying quiet, simple pleasures. He loves long walks, and is always comfortable with his own company-- though he likes others and has a lot of love in his heart for just about anyone he may meet, he finds peace in solitude. He has mostly lived alone, even as a child he was very much on his own. He was taken in and cared for at different points in his life, but allowed to roam rather free.

While he does want to settle down with someone and have a family someday-- he'd love to adopt a few children, as he was an orphan himself-- it's a far-off dream for him right now, as he's still enjoying being on his own and he knows he isn't ready to really put someone else's happiness and comfort first and foremost, and doesn't want to try to start a family until he can make them his top priority. But he trusts that the day will come when he is ready for that, he just needs his collective life experience to lead him there.

He's very reflective and takes the time to know himself, before he tries to make any major decisions. He's happy to go with the flow of life and to accept things as they come to him. He enjoys a slow pace. He often seems melancholy to others, but it's really only how he looks when he's lost in thought-- his overall attitude is positive, he just doesn't show it in an energetic, cheerful-looking way.

A personality: T'loc was a helpful worker until swept away from the nest by a flash flood. Without direction, T'loc has managed to make a few friends of the not nester's. T'loc is helping harvest for the hot summer and setting stores by for the winter. T'loc is pleasant and takes pride in their appearance, keeping well groomed at all times. T'loc avoids confrontation by moving away from the conflict. T'loc feels they have found a place in the new world.

Personality & characteristics synopsis: Cutie Pie is her guardians prized rabbit, and she has won many awards and various shows. She is polite, obedient, and charming. But her home life if very different from what people are allowed to see. Her guardians are obsessed with getting prizes, and when she is not in front of an audience, they often mistreat her for not living up to their impossible standards. This has made her silent, sullen, and withdrawn when not pretending for the cameras. She would run, but she doesn't want to leave her little sister at their mercy. She just needs to bid her time so they can both escape.

He's not very grumpy despite a hint of "resting bitch face". He enjoys a hard work, croisants and frog races. Aldson has a bit of a gambling problem, too many coins given up for a frog that just wasn't fast enough, or a game of cards he wasn't very good at.
He and his mother got along swimingly before she passed away, and he visits the garden where she is burried twice a year. He pours out a thimble full of homemade booze and talks about their old, drunk misadventures and whatever his gnarled old father is complaining about this week.
He once fancied a pixie with yellow and orange wings, their name was too soft to be spoken from human lips. They had danced at a summer festival and spent a long week together near a river in the forest where the party was. They lost touch when Autumn came around but he still considers them the love of his life.
He has a neighbor, Bilson, a gnome who is his best friend. They love to go bowling and they make booze, go fishing and sing karaoke at least once a month!

She has a very observant and quiet nature. She hardly speaks to strangers and only opens herself to people she knows very well and deeply trusts

Story/background:
She was raised as an orphan in a small village. Lumi always liked hiding and reading books or studying and observing the nature ariund her. She never really had friends and never felt fully understood. One day she decides to run away from her orphanage (to probably find out who her parents are/were) and join a group of pilgrims. They travel together for a while but in a very cold winter she is left behind in the ruins of an old monastery while asleep. As she wakes up she finds herself in the white and cold desert not knowing where to go. In the cellar of the monastery she finds some food and drinks to survive the next few days. Soon she runs out of food and feels the need to go out of tge cellar where she meanwhile created a small fireplace to keep her warm. Lumi leaves and after a long walk she sees the silhouettes of a group of caravans. Excited about finding people who might help her she starts running towards the Caravans but discovers that they are abandoned. She takes what she finds and continues her so hopeless-seeming journey through the landscape of ice and snow. As she reaches the end of her nerves Lumi falls into the snow loosing all sense of life and orientation. All she wants is to end all this nothingness and to die she falls asleep in the hope of freezing to death but wakes up again from hearing voices from a distance. Lumi sits up and looks around desperately searching the horizon for a sign of life. Suddenly out if what seems nothing a young couple arrives. Lumi screams and breaks out in tears begging for staying with the young couple. The two come closer sharing looks but no words. They help her up and the guy caries her on his back. After 2 hours of walking they reach a fireplace where the couple gives Lumi food and wraps her in some more blankets. The next day they travel with a small caravan and they exchange who they are and why they were in this area. During their travel Lumi befriends very quick with the too who btw are scientists/discoverers and they teach her a lot about what exactly they do. But every happy time ends at one point... the couple has to continue their journey without Lumi (what indeed makes all the three of them very upsrt and sad). In a town they pass Lumi is given in the hands of close friends of the couple. These people take good care of her and show her the love she always seeked.

Whoo! Here it ends though I am pretty sure that this is just the beginning of Lumis story.

Silphiel is a quiet, scholarly elf. She prefers to tend to herself and her small library, trying to keep her collection of magical books and artifacts organized and safe. An abjuration wizard by practice, she would much prefer preventing trouble than causing it, and that goes even into her magical practices. However, she also has a thirst for knowledge. For now, what she's managed to get from legal trades and buying from adventurers has been able to satisfy her. But there's a whole world out there, untapped, undiscovered, and waiting to be found. Maybe if she can just find the right people to travel with, she can get out of her secluded tower and explore the world...

They’re fey, so few know their true name, and equally few know what they truly look like. They can glamour their way into any appearance they want, but they keep it pretty consistent, switching between male and female bodies, but keeping the same face, the same flowing hair.

Rose is a succubus who could not care less about seducing people. Over her many millennia she grew tired of her role in life and decided instead to open a small bed and breakfast in a quiet town where she lives happily with her animal companion, Charlie (a kind but aging golden retriever). She has a constant fear of being discovered for what she truly is and being ripped away from the friends she has made, being dragged back to hell by the demonic forces sent to hunt down defectors from The Dark Prince's army.

Gender: Male
Personality: Many, upon first glance, would find Jules handsome. His quiet demeanor and slight formality have a certain charm. His politeness and and breadth of knowledge have intrigued many. But it is once any such person attempts to forge a romance with him do they find why so many choose not to go past the first date.

It starts off only slightly unusually. Any date questioning his decision to eat so little at dinner is laughed off with a knowing smile. Any horror movies watched together come with a running commentary more macabre than the film itself. But it is when Jules gets said date alone at his home that they truly see what lies beneath that handsome face.

He's a vampire, he'll insist. He prefers to get that out in the open on the first date, so that anyone too frightened can back out. Most offer up a nervous laugh, already thinking ahead to when they will tell their friends about the strange date they had. He'll flash his canines as proof, and they are unusually long and sharp, almost unnaturally long and sharp.And do his ears, on closer inspection, look a little pointed? At this point, regardless of certainty over his claims, most find some way to excuse themselves and leave, if only to avoid someone with such an odd delusion. But if a person is not scared off by this, no one has stayed beyond what comes next. He insist on showing them how he sustains himself. Another laugh, perhaps, then a walk into the kitchen, where he opens his fridge. And the contents?

Tub after tub of blood. Not human, he insist, never human. He's not a monster. But he is pleased. Most don't make it this far. Some more time, and perhaps they can become a vampire alongside him. All it takes is sampling a bit of each others' blood...

As said before, no date has remained any longer than that.

Omg this thread hasn't been posted in for a year and a half but I randomly found it searching a sculpt name (it was aod hanji hehe) and omg I love this idea, so pardon me for reviving it... I feel the burning need to resurrect this game, especially since the last sculpt prompt was re:sen which is a sculpt I love so so so dearly and want so bad someday... I'm gonna base these answers just around the vibe I get from the styling in the pic linked here, heheh

Name: Marsh or Vann
Age: 23-26
Gender: nonbinary, they/them
Character: Tall and quiet, with a nice soft laugh, and a quick wit once you get to know them. Loyal and will do anything to help anyone. They wear mostly loose fitted dark tshirts/tanktops and slim-but-not-skin-tight jeans, maybe white or pale acid washed. They live in a big city but are frequently on the road. When they're in their home city they make ends meet by cutting/styling hair out of their apartment for friends and other local punk/hipster kids, as well as taking commissions making screenprint art for local bands to sell as merch (like things to put on tshirts or patches), when they're out traveling (probably in a pretty small but reliable car) they just play it by ear and do whatever comes... it doesn't always last long because it's hard to get gas and food sometimes, and they end up missing their city and friendgroup, but they enjoy it and if anything it makes coming home feel even better.

Gender: Female

Personality: Willow is a water sprite. She lives among the other sprites in a forest far away. She is one of the oldest water sprite there, a Light sprite showing up before her. She is wise and kind, always welcoming new sprites to their home. However, she could moody and quick to retaliate, much like the changing of the tides. She looks after the other water sprites to keep them safe from harm and for that she can come off as over bearing or needlessly cautious. Willow knows that some of the younger sprites are intimidated by her, some of the earth sprites find her in too much of a hurry....but she doesn't care, she know what it takes to keep her people safe. She is worried, if her dreams are true...Someone is coming. A dark force...Every plant he touched withered and died, ponds dried and rivers fouled...a decimated scene in His wake. Who was he? Where her dreams real? Should she tell her people? She knew she couldn't wait to find out. She had to do something.

Luatha is a chaotic fae. They have an appreciation for humans, but their majority of interactions with them is to mess with them. I mean, they are so easy to tease, their reactions are always worth it. Luatha almost never feels remorse for the little pranks they pull, but they do bond with the human they prank. In fact, a human would never partake in the chaos had they initially not heeded Luatha's advice. Luatha is a strong advocate for "tough love". What better love is there, than a lesson learned?

Personality/Character synopsis: Nula is a Naiad who lives in a stream near a small village that has gradually been taken over by the suburban traits of a bedroom community for a nearby city. At first she was not a fan of the humans but proximity made her gradually become more and more curious and now she spies on the humans regularly. She has only been spotted by them occasionally but a legend of a local cryptid has grown up over time...of a water-dweller who might steal a baby if given the opportunity.
