The Sewing Project! - Voting closed, Mori Fashion won!

I'm gonna vote for 4. Mostly because it's the only one I know what I might want to do for it. And have at least 2 dolls who fit into it that need me to get off my lazy butt and actually make clothes for them!

 

I'd really like to get in on this thread...I've been away from the hobby for almost a year, now. Most of my dolls represent characters from a high fantasy storyline, but with a little artistic license, I could wiggle one or more into any of these categories:4)Punk & Goth, 6)Evening Wear, or 6)School wear.

 

Ooh, I'm getting ideas for: 1. Pick a decade, 3. Decora Fashion, and 9. Sock Couture & Recycle Wear!

 

My absolute favorite is 1. Pick a decade, but I also love the idea of 4. Punk & Goth Fashion and 9. Sock Couture & Recycle Wear.

I'm sad to say, if we wind up with theme 9: Sock Couture and Recycled fabrics, I'll have to sit out. I have too much bought raw fabric needing to be used to be going out looking for fabrics to re-purpose.

Would be the themes I could bend to fit the girl I'm planning on working on for the next month (I'm currently rotating my dolls in order to get them all slightly more done)

 

I think multiple themes would be good. I really like this game and it would be sad to miss out because my dolls have characters that just couldn't be meshed with a certain theme...

 

When is the next round starting?

Thanks must have overlooked her post, I'm sorry, That is a great date so i have enough time to finish other projects till then.

I'm curious about the topic it will finally be as not every topic will be realizeable in the scale of my only model, but i will definitly give it a try. Even gathering the materials will be a challenge, i think

Sadly I can't enter the next project. Theres no time in the next month for sewing.

I think having more than one at a time almost defeats the purpose
If someone dosen't like the theme they can just wait for the next one *;P like I'm doing* Summer breezejust didn't do it for my dolls lol

 

My votes are for 2, 6, and 10. I remember dressing Emma in Stephen's clothes because he hadn't arrived, yet, but it would be good to step away from constantly dressing her in pink/bright colors for a change.

What if we had an entire competition devoted to accessories, like all about new shoes, or jewelry?

I agree, having more than one at a time is just going to get really confusing. My suggestion would be to have everyone put in a vote for whatever they like from the list (vote for as many topics as you want), and at a designated time, declare voting over.

After that, organize everything into another list, starting with what got the most votes, and ending with the least votes. If you have a tie, just put them down in whatever way the original creator of this game prefers (don't vote on them, again).

 

I'd love to join in if it's #2 or #9.

 

I vote for (2) Mori fashion! I searched up some photos and I love the fairytale feelign I get from the style

 

I think it might be nice to have the list dictate the following rounds. It would let people know what's coming up. If they don't have an idea for this round, they can get ideas for the next one, since they'll have plenty of time to think about it.

 

One the of the downsides of having the list tag along so to speak is that the people who voted this round might not be the people wanting to play down the line. The upside of voting before every new challenge is that only those who have intentions to play (if the theme works out in their favour) votes. Which should make for a fairer voting.

 

I think voting for each is better means new themes can come up and some favs of the last vote

 

Since 'mori fashion' seems so strong, I have a question...and hope you will all pardon my ignorance. 'Mori' seems to be geared for girls, is that correct? I've got 2 large, mature male dolls I'd thought to show off in the next round, but it doesn't seem to apply. Neither is 'feminine' at all.

I do have an Appini, but she's my only doll that has plenty of clothes.

You could always take PM suggestions (which wouldn't congest the thread) for a limited time. Then, you could decide which are doable, and which aren't feasible. Take the ones you think will work, and assign them numbers.

Find a random number generator (I found this one: http://www.random.org/) put in your lowest and highest numbers, press the button and the theme corresponding to the chosen number is the next theme.

 

I say Mori because I want to learn more about that style!

 

7. Coseplay

 

Mori is also a fashion for boys. In Japan, when boys want to date a certain kind of girl, for example, lolita or gyaru, sometimes the easiest way to do that is to dress like their accessory! Thus, most girl's fashions have a male counterpart. Here's a mori boy tumblr for ideas.
