No - their uncle is the One. Elves live very very long lives. I figured out the math years ago and don't remember the specifics. But Orrie is supposed to be about 5-6 years old (if he were human) - but he's actually 32, and then it changes a bit when one matures.

The One rules from the age of 150 through their 1500th year. At that point, he or she must step down. If the One's offspring have not yet reached their 150th year, then the position goes to a sibling, niece or nephew.
The present One is Syrrah and Zyfan's Uncle, their mother's younger brother. His rein will end in a little more than 50 years. Neither of his two children will be old enough to take over, so Syrrah became next in line. She wasn’t interested and found a way out. She had herself tested for the rare healing gift. She passed and became a Daughter of IlluminatA.
Zyfan then, became the future One.

150 years old is about 30 in human years, 1500 is about 70 in human

Yes Syrrah really didn't want anything to do with it - and she got lucky since she didn't even know she had the healing gift - which is highly valued among the Elves. S now she's kind of watching over Zyfan to help prepare him for the throne - or not. She also thinks if he really doesn't want to do it - he can just say no and walk away. Either way - she'll support him.
