Registration information-
Registration to the Resin Rose BJD Expo includes membership for the one day event; catered finger foods and juice bar; door prize ticket, and a goodie bag. Pre-registrants also get to check-in 30 minutes earlier than paid at the door registrations.

All contests are open to all registrants, regardless of pre-registers or at the door registrations. However, pre-registration is discounted from at the door prices and includes one additional door prize ticket. Pre-registration is highly encouraged.

Registration prices:

• $20 pre-registration - last day to pre-register is January 9th, 2015
• $30 at the door
• $15 swap space - limited to 10

By applying to be a member at Resin Rose BJD Expo you will agree that:
1. There will be no selling, trading or displaying of recast or bootleg items.
2. Resin Rose BJD Expo and Portland Meadows are not liable for any damage, stolen, injury or loss to any person or goods that may arise from rental or occupation of venue by the expo.
3. Membership dues are non-refundable. Membership fees are transferrable up to February 16th, 2015
4. Respect the venue, staff and other attendees by using common sense, manners and good taste. Limit nudity, profanity and gore.
5. No Smoking, E-cigarettes or vaping on the premises except for in designated outdoor areas.
6. No pets allowed except service dogs.
7. We reserve the right to escort transgressors of the above from the premises. You will not be refunded if you are removed and may be banned from future events.
8. Members under the age of 18 must come with a registered parent or guardian.

[h=2]Optional: Join the Swap![/h]Those that pre-register may also register for a swap space. Swap space is $15.00 for a 4’ x 4’ floor space. Swap space is floor seating only. No members may bring items to sell or trade unless they are vendors or have purchased a swap space. The swap will occur during a specific time. Non-vendors may not sell or trade during non-swap times. Space is limited to 10 spots. Pre-registration is required for swap space. No selling or trading of recast items. Swap members are encouraged to bring change and alternative forms of payment. Anybody may buy items during the swap time.Swap time will begin after the closing ceremony (around 5:30-5:45pm) and run for 1 hour. The Expo will run until 7:00pm.

I really wish I could go to this event! I would love to be able to purchase a doll directly from an artist, or retailer on the spot! There's nothing like instant doll gratification. LOL! I think I'm the only one not from the East Coast that plans on going Gives me another excuse to hop on a plane! I love travelling via plane, especially long cross-country flights.

 

I hope you can make it! The smaller doll cons need love so they can grow, and they are always a great chance to get to know others better. Plus, Portland is great! There are so many things to do and the sights are beautiful.

I can't wait to attend. Me and my two friends have already bought our plane tickets.

Contest Information
We will have several contests for you to participate in for the Expo.

Contests
Contests are open to all attendees and vendors; there is no additional fee to enter. Show organizers cannot enter or win any contests, however they may purchase raffle tickets.

Winners will be determined by votes of the attendees and organizers; ballots will be included in the registration packets. The Judge's Choice and Best in Show awards will be decided by the Resin Rose board.

All work must by done by the person entering the contest, and should be kept secret prior to the expo. All dolls must be displayed secured in a stand or chair. The expo will not be providing stands. Small accessories may be displayed around the doll, but no backgrounds or walls.

Faceup Contest -
Do your best to interpret our name, Resin Rose, and incorporate it into the faceup. Heads may be presented on a full doll (must be dressed and in a stand) or on a bust. If a head is entered without a stand, it will be displayed with the headcap off and upside down so that it will not roll off the table.
Categories: heads that wear 7/8 size wigs and larger; heads that wear 6/7 wigs and smaller
Prize: $25 gift card to Blick for each category

Derby Hat Contest-
The theme of the 2015 Resin Rose BJD Expo is A Day at the Derby. Historically the derby has been the place to show off one's finery and inventiveness with hats. Resin Rose celebrates wonderful and wacky hat concepts with this contest. Hats will be judged by best looking hat, finest quality construction. Dolls must be displayed secured in a stand or chair.
Categories: hats on humans; hats on dolls. The hats must be worn.
Prizes: $25 gift card to Michael's for each category

Costume Contest -
Based on the theme - A Day at the Derby, from jockeys to the fine gentlemen and ladies attending, show your derby best! Fully handmade by you outfits only (exception for shoes). Dolls must be displayed secured in a stand.
Prize: $25 gift card to Joann's

Photo Contest -
Based on the theme - A Day at the Derby, show your favorite part of the derby.
Photos must be 8x10 inches and displayed in a simple standing frame. Minimal photoshopping, this is an opportunity to show off your photography sills. The focus of contest is on interpretation of theme, props/sets, posing, and photographic skills (composition, lighting, etc.).
Prizes: $25 gift card for People's Choice and Judges Choice

I still am not sure just who I should bring...

Who is everyone else planning on bringing from their resin family??

 

I'll only be bringing Eden my MNF Rheia. I would like to bring my lillycat girl Maybell but I fear that she'll possibly get damaged and I'd rather bring a doll that I can easily replace if something happens on our flight over. Of course I don't want anything to happen to her either, but better safe than sorry right? Anywho, I'd love to meet some locals since I'm planning on moving to Portland in the next year or so! ^_^

 

I'm so excited to see everybody at the expo! My profile contains a list of all my BJDs - if anybody has any requests for specific dolls to be brought, I'll try to honor them, but I can't make any promises. I'll probably bring way too many dolls like I usually do.

I'm working on a couple of sets that people will be able to play with their dolls in for the expo. There will be a few photography lights with umbrellas for people to use with the sets and some photo backdrops.

Yeah for procrastination! A film I'm finishing is being previewed that Sunday in Seattle but I'm going to try and come down for this and come back up Saturday night. I have a college friend in Portland so I'm going to try and come out Thursday or Friday to see him....and Powells of course....

Did you see the photos of the head Switch donated that were posted on the site? Or the Teru, 5Star doll, and Syrinxfox wings? Safrindoll donated four $25 gift certificates as well. It's gonna be so fun giving things away and the charity raffle is going to be amazing.

Oh man! I cannot believe this is upon us!! I still have so much to do I have been looking forward to this for so long, I cannot wait to meet you all.

 

I still have so much that needs to be done!!!! So Excited! but where did that extra time go!!! Can't wait to meet everyone. I will be working at the door in the morning handing out the preregistration stuff and taking money from people at the door. (and also tending to my vendor booth)

Soooooo glad I just have to get through 3 more days of work and then I will start vacation! It feels like this came up so quick and the wait for it to start wasn't long at all :-D Can't wait to look & buy all the wonderful dolly goods. I also hope everyone likes the goods that my friends are bringing for their vending table. My Rhea (Dollfie Dream Sasara) and Tsukiko (Mini Dollfie Dream custom) will be modeling clothes and hats at the table
