Loving reading all about the centaurs; which body type has the best articulation and can hold poses?

 

Has everyone seen the new Resin Soul mini centaurs? Look at those gorgeous legs!

So I messaged resinsoul about the custom color combo I had in mind for Twilight and they said they could do it! So I got a short layaway for her! Shes gonna have her human part in dark tan and the horse part will be black with red transparent legs! Funny thing as well shes gonna be my first resinsoul doll as well! So exciting!

In the announcement thread here someone said they were working on a male! I would prefer a boy, so I'll sit this one out...but I'll be cheering you on!

 

*flails* if they have a boy version as well. Twilight might need him too lol so happy! I wonder if they will also release a fanged boy too. Again Resinsoul doing really nice affordable centaurs is amazing! I'll just be over here in my hype corner lol.

 

She’s so beautiful! Resinsoul have really outdone themselves. I need her.

As soon as I get back from vacation, I’m ordering her. I’m still considering what colors I want her to be... Solid white? Solid dark gray? Or with purple human parts and a dark gray horse body?

Edit: Did they change their purple color? It looks super saturated in the sample underneath Twilight’s pictures.

 

I ordered Twilight too. And I've come here to steal all your clothing ideas, mwahaha!
Right now I'm just working on a cloak- something to fit any doll.

That said, she's really lovely. I didn't put much in my order aside from Normal Skin + Faceup so I hope she comes more or less looking like the reference images. I've also got a cool black-purple wig in mind for her.

 

Congrats on the order! She should come looking like the reference pictures mostly! Just the transparent parts are extra and have to email for that.

Side note I too been looking around for clothing ideas. I actually been thinking of putting a dress on my Twilight but totally unsure how well they all might fit a resinsoul body. So I might pop over to the resinsoul thread to ask there for any pointers on where to look.

Last thing did anyone catch twilight's eyesize? 16mm seems too big but im not sure.

I wonder if I can email and adjust my order or if it's to late then. I really want the transparent hooves and tail like the promo image. Gotta do that after work.
16mm is what it says in the comments of her in the Resinsoul Shop. You could check some of the other 45cm dolls to see what they wear, and see if it seems about right?

 

You prob can adjust the order if you email Sun right away They are really nice for this.

For the eyes I found for 1/4 dolls to be 14mm range even most of my 1/3 dolls take 12/14mm. which is why i keep looking at 16mm as way too big but I have no experience with resinsoul though. maybe the 16mm eyes is to help fill the really wide eyes is what im mostly thinking.

 

My Winter wears 14mm eyes and is ~28cm. His eyes are proportionally huge for his face, and Twilight looks to have smaller eyes relative to the size of her head.

I’ve always wanted a centaur doll and was super happy that Resinsoul released one, since they are more my price range and style. I ordered my Twilight with dark tan human parts, blue body and pink lower legs, hooves, and tail. Plus face up and body blushing. I asked that they exchange all the blue parts for pink in the blush and face up as well.

I originally wanted mint green but I didn’t want to send a sample and Sun said that the blue was close to mint anyway. So I followed their advice. I’m super excited!

 

Woo! I fixed my Twilight order. Sun is super nice and I probably should have just made my order via email instead of the website first, but can't be helped.

By the way, how are the tails of centaurs strung most of the time? I've been considering trying a wig for a tail when she gets here, but I don't know what would be the best way to do that. Fit it over the sculpt? A little magnet?

 

I already submitted payment for my Twilight, but I wonder if it's too late to ask if I can get my centaur with dark gray horse parts instead of white? My luts centaur already has a white horse body and I want a different color.

 

So exciting to see all these custom colored centaurs! Will bring so much uniqueness to the table here!

@Mutation From what I've seen they are held on by magnets. Twilight's tail looks like its a magnet tail. Only a very select few doll companies actually have jointed tails in general.

 

Just got my order changed! Light tan human parts, dark gray horse parts, and transparent purple tail and hooves. Resinsoul is so amazing! I’ve never ordered a doll in this many colors before. I’m so excited to see how she and everyone else’s Twilights turn out!

 

@slight Same! Though mine might be a little boring because I basically just wanted mine to look like the picture. I know her wig will be purple black and I intend to dress her in a lot of whites right now. ... Not that I'm any good at this sewing thing yet.

 

Hello everyone! I just ordered twilight too! Im sooooo excited to get her. She is just gorgeous. I ordered mine like the picture too. though...some of you are making me nervous that I messed up...I just ordered her in normal skin. Doesn't she automatically come with the pretty purple and blue hooves and tail?

 

Nope. You have to email Sun to get it custom colored or it will be one solid color. The custom colors will be extra though. Sooner you email the better you can get this fixed

 

@lividdarkangel Just as Pooki said, you have to email Sun. It's admin(at)resinsoul.com. I did the same and it should be an easy fix. I'm curious what kind of wig you'll go for and what you get for eyes!

Thank you! I just sent the email. I wish I had known that so I could have ordered her correctly the first time. But I am also glad I am finding out now, instead of when I open her box and have her not looking how I was expecting. As for her wig, I'm thinking a short feathered black bob. For her eyes, I'm planning on blue and purple swirled together with no pupils, but that could change if I find something I like better. None of this is set in stone though. She was pretty much an impulse buy, so haven't put much thought into her design, much less a character for her.

 

You should still have time if its only been a few hours they are pretty good in general!

 

That's fair! Mine was an impulse buy sorta too... I was waiting until pay day for a different Resinsoul and then saw her appear in the store!
I've started thinking of her character after the fact, although I'm not set in stone until I see her. Definitely going to make her chainmail though, because I've got some skill with pliers and jewelry.

Also you're fine, I fixed mine days after my mistake!

 

Emailed them last night, already got an email back. My order is all fixed! Should be ready in about 40 days. I am sooooooo excited to get her omg.

Chainmal? She would look soooooo cool in chainmail! Will it be like a full body suit or just a shirt? I have zero jewelry skills. You should post progress shots so we can see.

Im not sure if I want to put much in the way of clothes on mine. I find her so gorgeous I dont want to cover her up to much. Might just make her a simple bra and call it good. Then again she is my first centaur so I might want to experiment a bit, even if out of character for her.

 

I didn't get myself a Twilight, cause I rea~~~~lly want another guy, but I'm looking forward to seeing all these girls come in

 

Im really looking forward to seeing one sculpt being done so many ways. I love that about this hobby. They are all identical on one level, but they all will look so different. Is just so much fun to see.

 

Have you seen Mili, a limited deer-taur from Doll Leaves?
I love her face, though those legs seem somewhat off.

She'd be over in the tiny centaur thread if there was one This is for 40-50 size centaurs so 1/4 dolls. She's a 1/8th size doll.

Has anyone ever heavily modded their centaurs or dolls in general? I'm tempted to cut Doll Chateau's Noah when I get him at the hip or so. He can't bend over, but I love his body's shape. It's so sad. I have anywhere from 6 months to a year before he arrives, depending, but I just want a bit of a game plan or advice beforehand.

I have a Dollzone Hotarubi and she is strung so tight I am afraid to remove head as read won't be able to get back on. Does anyone have any tips on how to get the string to losing up? I don't care unstring as other then head removal she's perfect.

 

I went and added a bit more elastic in upper torso so the head can be removed a bit easier. It is so much better.

Happy to oblige! Clearly he's having a much more relaxing summer vacation than most of us.

He's wearing what I have on hand since shipping is so unpredictable right now, but I'm planning to get different eyes and possibly try making him a wig! I'm imagining a longer half-pony with braids. Basically Legolas haha

hello everyone, if tracking is correct I should have a new hybrid centaur to share with you guys tomorrow so cross your fingers

 

So the USPS took one week longer than estimated. I was hoping everything would fit so i could share my new centaur with you guys but it will have to be moded to make that happen. anyways I will share what the doll is so you guys can have an idea of what I am trying to do.

The torso is a bit more wide & the horse body has crevices that need to be sanded down.

...Epic outcome. He's fantastic! Also the only grey Jason I've ever seen. Wish I could have nabbed him before they discontinued him- it's great to see another one around. Do you have a character for him? I am loving that steampunk aesthetic.

 

@Loptr it's the Souldoll centaur body. With the Jason being so tall it was the only centaur body that wouldn't look weird with him.

Holy frick he's gorgeous! I love your hybrid! I have the bunny bear arm too, it's a little heavy though, how's it hold up on your boy? It looks really great with his lanky longness! But as a hybrid with that body he looks amazing!

Does anyone know of some good doll stands for mini centaurs? I assume saddle stands might work if they're wide enough.
I'll admit I'm bad at stringing- and I did attempt wiring but my gal just does not want to stand. Besides, be nice to pose her mid gallop.
