She is absolutely stunning. Did I mention my room mate bought one as soon as she saw yours!! Such an enabler!! Hugs Mary-Lee
Hi Jen, Just love your little monster. It is great how you continually surprise us with your gorgeous creations. No saying I am going to do this or I am doing that, just BAM and then you just knock us out with something so original. Cheers May
figured i'd share an outfit for my lati yellow... i stole the outfit from a halloween barbie at the store... this is the jacket from it, it's the only part that fit, but even then it's very baggy in the shoulders. but looks cute in pictures hehehe these are some pictures i took as a test for my halloween shoot (and the sleeves are ridiculously long in a cute way hehehe) she's like a mini elvira
Today there was a definite chill in the air so my two little Lati Yellows immediately wanted to try out their new winter clothes. I made jeans for them both and Lunita (Lati Yellow 16cm Miel with renewal body) is wearing hers with her lovely jumper and hat, beautifully made for her by Maisiedoats in Australia. Milly (Lati Yellow special 20cm Cookie) is wearing hers with a cardigan I made. Naturally she is showing her belly button, she has a habit of doing that! Then again it is such a pretty one after all. Milly's jeans have front and back working pockets and Lunita's have back working pockets. Both girls love their jeans! Hope you like their photos And here they are playing Hide and Seek! Although I'm not sure who's doing the hiding and who's doing the seeking!! Love Sharon in Spainxx
Just a few photos of my Lina - until Laches joins her: This is my Heart Warmer top, great with jeans or on top of a ballet set, which should be photographed tonight. Pretty dress for Christmas Strawberry Shortcake - I also have a strawberry hat, not photographed yet!
Thanks May, I have this bad habit. When something fun pops into my brain, I need to make it right NOW, or I just can't focus on anything else till I do. It's my own form of seamstress OCD.
My Lati Yellow is Lami, she is such a sweet little girl, here she is wearing a sweater I knitted and jeans made by Sharon of Spain. I wouldn't even try and compete making them. then I managed to get her out of her jeans, she just doesn't ever want to but I convinced her to try on a dress. Cheers May
She's gorgeous May, did you see my girls wearing their new jeans and Lunita's beautiful jumper that you made for her. Your knitting is incredible, how do you do such tiny perfect stitches! And the hat is just wonderful too, she loves it and won't take it off now, even though she is in the house.
"Milly's jeans have front and back working pockets and Lunita's have back working pockets. Both girls love their jeans! Hope you like their photos" Sharon, They are both so cute..and the jeans are wonderful!
Hey Sharon, Do you mind me asking where you get the little gold "studs" for their jeans? If it's a seamstress secret, no problem I understand!
And May, how do you feel about a trade? I'd love a sweater for my little Lati. It's getting cold here in Jersey!
It's up to no good, as usual. I do believe my standard answer to that question is "a crapload". In the Lati Yellow category, I have two, both the old Yellow size, Lami and Pury. I stopped posting official counts/roll calls/full group pictures here on DoA when I started receiving unpleasant comments/PMs from people who felt it was their duty to give me grief about having so many dolls, or felt because I had so many that I should give them one/sell them one cheaply. Since I've gone on vague mode, those have pretty much stopped...what people don't know, they can't rag about. If you truly want to know, I'll pm you privately about it
Thanks Dambuster (Sharon of Spain), there is just one problem with your jeans, she is kicking up a fuss about wearing dresses now, they have really brought out the tomboy in her. I have to bribe her now to wear dresses. Cheers May
Hi Jen, I am sure we can work out some sort of a swap, thought I think I might have to do 2 to your one as I can't compare with your items. Drop me a line privately. Cheers May
Thanks Rosi, I'm glad you like them. The girls certainly seemed happy enough to get them on, which surprised me as that little Lunita loves running around in just her frilly knickers!!! Love Sharonxxx
All the outfits are great, I am truly in awe of those who can knit or crochet such tiny things. Those jeans are wonderful, I love how they look so much like toddler jeans! You'd never know how small they are from looking at them. Jen, I've seen people use things like gold fabric paint for "studs", or bead caps/small round jewelry findings. For Yo size, I would think you should be able to use scrapbooking studs.
Thanks for your compliments on my jeans Clochette, they are indeed small but I like to make them as realistic as possible. I hate jeans that just look 'tubes' or as my friend so funnily put it 'Walmart Specials'!!!! My girls seem to like them. I make smaller ones too, for the Orient Doll So and they are stocked by Denver Doll Emporium, and at the moment I'm being hounded by several people to make them for the Lati White, both the tiny and the new size, but I'm not sure I really want to...we shall see!!! Love Sharon in Spainxx
Thanks for the tip Clochette. And by the way you could own a bazillion dolls and I'd be happy as pie for you becasue I know you love each and every one to bits. Dambuster/ Your jeans are amazing. I've tried the whole working front pockets thing and my hats are off to you. Also, the way they look like they've been worn. A lot of tiny jeans I've seen look like the Levi's of my youth. It took 2 years to wear them in to the point they were comfy. And by then they didn't fit anymore!
Thanks Spampy, I know what you mean about the 'aging' on them. I've actually got it down to how I like it now although I have ruined a couple of pairs of little jeans on the way as I get a bit carried away and end up 'aging' them too much. I wouldn't like my buyers to say 'those jeans are just too old and tatty for my kids'!!! Once you get the hang of the front pockets, its really easy, I might try them next on the So size ones, just to see, but I don't want to make them bulky in the body. I sometimes put belt loops and sometimes don't, because I don't want the girls to look all fat in the middle!!! Love Sharon in Spainxx
I think that's what makes them look so realistic. Scale is so important. If they have tons of detail and are well made, but the scale is off, they just don't look real. I've never attempted belt loops just for that reason. I figured they'd end up looking like they had a slinky wrapped around them.
Exactly and I try to make them the best fit possible, so they don't need a belt as they'd hardly fall down!!!
I have a rough idea from your "Christmas Tree", which is breathtaking! Your newer dolls are amazing, from the ones I saw in Austin. Do you have the Grown Up Pury in Yellow? I love her. Hugs Mary-Lee
Although this is a Yellow Lati thread, I have made Lati white jeans, but sold out in Austin last August. Once I get this huge order out this week, I will revamp my pattern and get more produced. I love the sparkly studs on this pair: My little jean jackets for Lati Yellow have the sparkly studs, but haven't put any on the jeans yet. Next weeks project!! Hugs Mary-Lee
Now I'm no administrator or anything here, but I think maybe this should be put in the Lati White thread Mary-lee.
Yes, I was lucky enough to get one. She's a lot paler than I'd expected, one of the few "white" dolls I own. She's been packed during the move, it seems like forever. Hopefully I'll be able to unpack her in the next week. I've made a couple of things for Lati Yellow, mostly some dresses using the pattern they have online and some basic pants/shirts. I'm working on a Renfaire dress for that size as well: Georgia (Lami) and Daisy (Pury) in basic dresses made from the Lati pattern: Georgia in Renfaire prototype (excuse the craptastic overexposed picture). I think I have the pattern done, I now have to make one in the fabric I'm planning on using. This was just cheapo $1 a yard fabric, so it's pretty meh looking: Most of my sewing has focussed on the Yo/BC size, since that's what's popular here in SoCal, but hopefully I'll be able to diversify into the smaller sizes soon.
Clochette, I like the middle photo where your little sweetie is looking out of the window...her little dress is cute too.
I love the dress in the last photo!! You had that one in Austin!! She looks fantastic in it. Well, they all look fantastic. I have one pattern book (knitting) for Lati Yellow, the original size, not SP. Adapting some of my Riley patterns for SP lati! Your Pury, sorry, Daisy is adorable - I have Lina - her sister! And 2 Laches coming. Gotta love da boys! Great photos, you have a fantastic eye for the camera. Mary-Lee
Ah, thank you all for your kind comments...though I wish I could take credit for the first two pictures, they are the work of others, as my photography skills sucketh mightily. I think the first one was taken by Mercy, and the second by Merethian. Only the overexposed craptastical shot is my own :/ I never learned to knit or crochet even big things, I can't even imagine the tiny needles y'all must use for those.
There must be something about these Lati Yellow dolls, I couldn't believe how many things I knitted for Lami in the last few weeks. She has more items this month than any of the other dolls I knit for. Here is one of them. Don't want to burden you with too many photos. Cheers May
Oh my goodness that is just brilliant, I want it.....! My Lunita is saying this is just her style and colour! Keep up the good work Maisiedoats.
Yes indeed. I have made enough new things for Lati Yellow to create a second pattern book (I have 12-14 items in each book). They are lovely dolls indeed. Mayr-Lee
Oh May that is precious. I think my Miel needs one. My grandma has tried to teach me to knit for 43 years. And I tried, I really did. But I just never had that love for it. So I think I really neeeed a sweater from you! PS Could you PM me with where you got your buttons?
Has anyone found a good source of shoes for Lati Yellow? I am using Marley runners for my SP lati, with laches coming, I need more boots than shoes. We have been experimenting with leather and have designed some exceptional coats for him. Just patiently waiting for Laches (both sizes) now. SP fits Marley, so far Riley shoes fit Lati Yellow, but what about boots??? Thanks Mary-Lee
I have been getting shoes and boots for the Lati Yellow SP from Judy at Juju's dolly mall. http://www.jujusdollymall.com/cgi-bin/dept?dpt=H&srch=DW&tier2=32 The 37mm shoes and boots fit well. I also have several pair of the Boneka shoes for them-in size 37 mm as well. I got mine here: http://www.stillplays.com/Dolls/Boneka/TuesdaysChild.htm
I can vouch for Dambusters jeans I have several pairs for my dolls and they are just exquisitely made, they have more detail than my own jeans. They look better on the dolls than mine do on me too. LOL I would post photos of the OD So and Doona Size Kathlen jeans, but as this is a Lati Yellow thread I will stick by the rules and post the photos of those in the correct threads. Cheers May
These are meant for Riley, but I think they will fit. Some of my other Riley boots fit Lina. These ones - But I would prefer a "normal" winter pair of boots. The ones above have little flowers embroidered on them (all I could find at the time). Skates will always work for skating outfits though!! Any suggestions? Hugs Mary-Lee
.... lots of cute Lati yellow (16cm) outfits on ebay as of tonight (11/8/07)! all are buy-it-now. don't miss out!
I'm having so much fun with my little girl. I just changed her eyes to green. So now she looks great in green!
Thanks Sweetiemom (love the name). I only have a regular as a model, so for now thats who gets to be sewn for. But you just never know! One more just for fun.
Too cute! Your outfits and your sewing are so lovely! Glad you like the name..Sweetie is my cat..and I am her mom..
Oh, I know, can't wait for my Laches to arrive, they have cargo pants, jean jackets and a few other goodies waiting for them. I love hats on these kids!! News boy caps are the best on the boys!! Hugs Mary-Lee
Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I hope someone can help. I just paid for my Lati Yellow Lumi and she should be here in two-three days. I have some Riley patterns I bought for my Orientdoll. I have yet to make any (as I am not bonding wither) I guess my question is... will riley patterns work for the 16cm yellows, or do I need to re-size? And if I need to resize, does nayone know the % I should drop is to (like copy at 75%) Thanks for any help!
In my experience, Riley clothes don't fit Lati Yellow. But then again, I have always made my own Riley clothes. There are Riley patterns on the market, none that I am aware of for Lati Yellow except my knitting pattern book (12 sweaters/coats/pants, etc). The larger SP version would be fairly close to DJ kish, if that is helpful. My jeans for DJ fit the SP lati. Mary-Lee
I was able to make a really sweet dress, using the Riley Pattern. I decreased the size to 90%. I will try and take some pictures tomorrow and post them..
Hello everybody ! I would like to know where you are buying clothes and shoes for latiyellow with special body (20 cm) ? Thanks !
I have been getting shoes and boots for the Lati Yellow SP from Judy at Juju's dolly mall. http://www.jujusdollymall.com/cgi-bi...ch=DW&tier2=32 The 37mm shoes and boots fit well. I also have several pair of the Boneka shoes for them-in size 37 mm as well. I got mine here: http://www.stillplays.com/Dolls/Bone...sdaysChild.htm The Riley and DJ Boneka clothes are a good fit for the Lati Yellow SP kids. Here are my Sunny (Coco) and Matty (Miel) in Boneka outfits:
I get my shoes there too. I have bought them elsewhere, but she is excellent to work with. Hugs Mary-Lee
