Queen Monica had always loved flowers and plants, so Lawrence had a conservatory built for her on the west wing of their castle. It was filled with all manner of plants and beautiful flowers, many of which he had Winston the dragon fly in from foreign lands... He had given her a large bouquet of white roses ten days earlier.....but they were finished. Unfortunately cut flowers don't last all that long, and that gave him an idea.... No sooner had Lawrence left, but some friends of Monica's arrived, and they proceeded to help her dispose of the finished roses... A little while later, Lawrence returned, and he had with him the most exotic looking plant... It was an orchid, which he'd asked Winston, the Dragon to get for him from some distant land... *To see all the photos in the entire story - the Conservatory - Fav Photos 2026
As usual, you're incredible at setting the scene! I love how many plants you packed in. Are they all real but young, or did you have a few fakes in there too?
Wow, these are stunning, and what beautiful storytelling as well!! I love the conservatory, the depth of the scene really makes it look great!
@dm_sof - Thanks! I was really happy with how it all turned out. Yes, they are all real plants. No fakes at all. Many of the ones in the actual set are miniature flowers and plant, and I have ivies around the exterior. The ones hanging in the background are my full size plants. @mydaffer - Thank you! @RabbidBunnies - Thank you so much! @P0laris - Thank youQ @Teddy - Thanks! Those are my favourite as well. The scene was put together on my kitchen table using only real plants.... I put together Blog post on how it was all put together - Creating a Conservatory
Wow - so much loving attention to detail! A lot of heart and soul went into this. Thank you so much for this romantic story.
@MintyCherry - Thank you! @Arucane - Thank you! This is the link to the complete story - the Conservatory - Fav Photos 2026 @JL_The_Lion - Thank you! I'd wanted to take photos of Monica with my mini plants for a while, and after setting up the 'conservatory', it developed into a full story. I added the link to the complete story at the end of the first post - the Conservatory - Fav Photos 2026
Beautiful as always! I love the way you take elements from your many sets and combine them along with parts of your actual home to create such life-like, believable settings for your dolls. P.S. The coffe mugs at "your end" of the table are an amusing detail.
Thanks! I was really happy with the entire set and how the photos turned out. It's rather fun trying to create new sets using existing props with a forced perspective background. I rarely ever set something up on the kitchen table, and since it was up for three days, we had to eat all of our meals at our end of the Queen's conservatory, hence the mugs.
