The Ai : Custom House Boys and Girls

Well I tried to make Hana (a Saint Mina) wear an Orange Baggy pants (female pants) from LUTS, but it was a little on the big side

Luts clothing is "sold out" because they are not open yet. Everything on their ENglish site (eluts.com) is "sold out" Oct. 1 is when they open to US so I think you may see that they are available on that date. Just passing on what I heard.

I make my dolls clothing and everything I made for the Lust ( freudian spelling slip??) fits the CH female, but I think the CH is just a tad broader in the shoulders and a little smaller in the bust cup size

A buddy sent me a lovely outfit that was made to fit SD. She said it was too big in the WAIST for her Lishe... I am getting a CH Choa, and she thought it would fit Choa better. So it really seems that it depends on the style and how tight it is (??) because I have heard that Lishe has a bigger bust than CH/SDs do.

color me confused!!!

 

From what i understand (and i might be wrong, forgive me if i am):

Ai are thinner than Sd13

Luts are thinner than Sd13

not sure what the ration between an ai and luts are though, check the measurment thread.

 

Can SD 13 dolls wear Luts clothing? There's an outfit on eLuts that I want to get but I won't if it won't fit the doll I'm getting!

 

Luts dolls, esp. females have wide hips and thinner waists.. and larger breasts (well, Lishe does) very hourglass, whereas SD13 has thicker waists - not as much hourglass.
I have NO idea about CH Ai, sorry.
Looking at the measurements for Lishe (from Sienna's site) and SD13 girl(from Aimee's measurements), I would be a little weary of trying any non-stretchy Luts clothing on an Sd13: (measurements in centimetres)

Lishe / SD13
shoulders / 11.5 / 12
around chest / 23 / 24
waist / 17.5 / 18.4
hips / 26.5 / 26

Kittybongo, if the outfit wont fit your Megu13, you could always put it on Lishe, or sell it, or put Megu on the Lishe body.

twigling you're right. If it didn't fit I could always save it for Lishe or sell it. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go ahead and get it. Thanks for your advice!

 

Clothes fitted to Ghaleon(shiwoo elf) do NOT fit Andesha(sd13 boy). Ghaleon will fit Andesha clothes baggily, but not vice versa. It's mostly the SD13 middles are too thick. I'm betting that goes for girls also.

 

Thanks batchix. I may still order the outfit. It's a shirt and a skirt. I'll definately get the shirt but I'm not sure about the skirt. Hmmm... *wanders off to ponder*

 

Customhouse recently posted their newest Unique dolls, and although 9 times outta 10 the new ones are limited headmoulds, sometimes they have a special unlimited one. But you know whom I've only seen one OOAK unlimited style of? Chowon. The Best Man Chowon, and I have mixed feelings on him. ;_; I love Chowon soooo much. Why doesn't he get the love that the others do? I mean, come on, there's so much potential that the headmould has. I know if I could afford it, I'd definately buy every single special Chowon out there, no matter how dumb and selfish that would be, as long as it would help increase special Chowon production. XD;;; But I'm just sayin' that Chowon needs more love. ;_; Of course, I also like Nan too, and I think she has potential, but she doesn't get the lovin' either. ;_; Come on, Customhouse!

 

Han and Rock seem to get left out of the mix often, too. Plus, it's important to remember that the English CustomHouse site sees only a small fraction of the dolls CustomHouse actually sells. Many more unique/costume play/merchen/ect dolls are created for Korean doll events and for their physical showroom, dolls that we never get to see.

As for Chowon, the Pharaoh was a tanned Chowon (Unique Ai).

I just got my Chowon recently (I was so happy to finaly see what he looked like from the side XD) I chose to get him because his face and wig made him look like one of my characters, so now I have Alexi in doll form.
I agree there aren't a whole lot of Chowons out there but I'm a big fan of them ^_-

My sister was in Seoul a couple of months ago and she told me about all dolls that never hit the site. I grant you, some were dolls owned by the artists, as that was what I was told when I asked about them.

Your little guy is gorgeous.^^ I remember him when he first went on sale and he was gone in a flash. ( Not many Chowons have been in the limited/unique/event/etal groups for the English speaking site. The same can be said for several other heads. Why is anyone's guess.)

Now with the "new" design group, maybe he'll pop up again.

 

I've had my chowon for almost a year now. ;-; He was my first doll and I really love the little pout with the big, dreamy eyes...and that cute little perfect nose. *___*;

I actually think there's a tanned skin ai doll on the english site that's done sort of egyptian and appears to come with a petite kiddo. It looks like him to me but I never saw anything saying what model this boy was.

Out of curiosity, was Chowon's head sculpt modified from Choa's, or was he just sculpted separately to resemble a male version of her?

 

Yanno, I noticed that too. Almost all of the Unlimited Ai look like kinda like brother and sister. Like Chowon and Choa, Miya and Bin, etc. O_o

 

Add me to that list....anyone know? o-o

 

On the subject of relationships between Ai, at least as far as I know:

Jin/Gene + Jun are brothers, twins to be exact, with Jun being the older.
Cyn + Miya are brother and sister, with Cyn being the older.

Bin + Cyn are best friends.
Han + Jin/Gene are best friends.
Rock, Han, and Cyn are in a band together.
Cebee is Jun's girlfriend.

Chowon + Choa are male/female versions of a similar headmold.
Siwon + Sia are male/female versions of a similar headmold.

Now, regarding the last two pairs, I still don't know if they're meant to be related or not. Are they brother/sister pairs? Anyone have an idea? XD?

I love how CustomHouse creates relationships between their dolls (and backgrounds, too, for some of the limited ones). Volks hasn't done that until fairly recently with the Tokyo Boys, and I don't think any other company does...?

He was CustomHouse's first boy, which may (or may not) explain it...

But nice explaination, Valentine! I only knew about Jin and Jun and Rock, Han, and Cyn. XD; Everyone else, I was kinda in the dark about.

I wouldn't be surprised if Chowon and Choa were brother and sister, though. Nagi was mistaken for a Choa once. XD; CH should totally make a set of them, kinda like Too and Bee-A almost. LOL. That would be fun, if not extremely expensive. XP

 

Sram's head was on the one of the 4 Compass spirits...White Tiger. So he was the first boy head. Ju-Jak was to have been a a boy, however several of Anu's friends said Ju-jak should be a girl....sooooo, Ju-jak had the body change. Karin's Hung-mu(sp?), same head as Ju-jack, was always a girl. The Dragon compass spirit is a boy and has the Ju-jak head....which is not a Choa head, but very similar.

Chowon, was a third generation doll, so to speak. I believe Chowon, Choa, Sia, Sram and Ju-jak head are all sculpted byt the same person....the person who sculpted the bodies for the dolls, a guy named Kim B. J. Just like Han, Jin/Gene, Jun, Evan, and Chowon are all done by Heavy Bomb. I think RollingPumpkin did Cyn, Miya, Cebee, and some of the newer junior, and petipe Ai. Kana did Bin, Rock, Siwon, and older junior Ai.

First heads were Choa types, Sia, and Sram. Second heads were Cyn, Rock, and Han. Third were Gene, Bin, and Miya. Forth were Nan, Jun, Cebee, Chowon, and Siwon.

Are Ai large dolls,
I was wondering if anyone could give me some more info on this dolls~?
Clothes they can fit into etc.
Can they ship to England?

Customhouse makes several sizes of dolls... Ai are large dolls, equal in size to SD or CP Delfs.. they also make Junior Ai, and Petit Ai, which are smaller dolls, but I don't believe they're the same size as MSD... not sure though

Ai can wear SD13 clothes; I've only got boys, though, so I can't say much about the girls. ^^ The boys have rather large feet, but will fit into most any kind of SD13 boy shoe.

I can't imagine why their English shopping site wouldn't ship to England. :grin:

Yeah, at first I was nervous about getting an AI because of not being able to find shoes or something To be fair, I don't have any Volks shoes, but it seems that most third-party clothing makers (like Ajumapama or Poshdolls) make their shoes big enough to fit a range of dolls. So their "SD13 Boy" size covers AI just fine. ^^

The Ai boys fit in luts boy pants and shoes pretty well too.

 

Can they? SWEET. I was a bit nervous of ordering any Luts shoes... ops:

 

Typically I find that if the shoe is specifically designed to fit an SD13 boy, then it can fit a CH boy. Shoes that say SD/SD13 might be too small, but I'm not all that sure on that, eh. I remember someone saying once a long time ago that their UNOSS could fit into CH boy shoes, so conversely, shoes designed for UNOSS will fit CH boys.

But I didn't know that about Luts boys. I was under the impression that Delf boys were smaller. Huh. Thanks for that.

 

Ah.. speaking of Chamomile I have a a question about the AI too >.<; I just discovered him myself and, well, he's quite tempting :B Does anyone know what the deal is with "event AI?" The site explains almost every other kind of AI but the event one. Are there less of them produced or something?

Some of the Event Ai are limited (like to 10) and some are one of a kind.

I think the Saint Mina and Saint Demian are limited to 100...? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Okay, after looking at the CH question and answer board, I found this about Rosemary:

Rosemary is not a limited doll. She's put into the Event section for the low event price, which might go higher by sometimes next year.

So! They're not limited dolls, I'm assuming? Please, correct me if I'm wrong.

Custom House doesn't do custom faceups, and the actual faceup artists usually have really long waiting lists on their own sites, not to mention the fact that they usually won't re-create a faceup like that. It wouldn't be fair to someone who purchased the original doll.

 

That's true of Heavybomb, at least. She says right on her sight that she won't copy limited face-ups. She even (politely) told me she couldn't restore my own limited face-up that had been damaged. ^^;
