That one turn-off

Aug 2, 2012

    1. Hey

I have looked around at many dolls, thinking about what doll I might want to get next and I find that often there is one or two things that makes me discard any specific doll. I was wondering what is your thing that will make you not want to buy a doll no matter how perfect it might be otherwise.

Just to be clear, I am not trying to diss anyone's taste, even though there are dolls that I do not like, I can appreciate that others might outright adore them, it's all cool I just want to hear about people's tastes.

This is my greatest turn off :

Too big boobs, I don't like it when the breasts are so big that they are squeezed together and looks like they are stuffed with silicone, I like it when the dolls looks good with and without clothes.

    2. Enormous thighs! Not on dolls that are designedto have enormous thighs, but an otherwise porportioned doll with oversized thighs. I love my Luna Tamer very much but her big muscular thighs were a real surprize in the (resin) "flesh".

      • x 2
    3. I haven't noticed any dolls with giant tights, I am intrigued, do you have any pictures of her ?

    4. White skin. 8| I just.. I don't know. I can't have dolls that are in white skin. They just look so... flat? Lifeless? I don't know... something like that. Or if they have those 'baby-fat' kind of cheeks? I also prefer smaller heads. I can't stand heads that are way too large compared to the doll's shoulder width. XD;; Okay perhaps I have a few things that really turn me off (I really could go on to list a whole lot more) but I'll leave it as those three XD;;

      • x 6
    5. Personally I think the white dolls are worse off without blushing then the dolls of other colours, but I still really want an excuse to get one. Though I tend to like more natural sized heads wich is why I had problems choosing between 1/4 and 1/3 scale, I ended up getting into the 1/4 scale anyway, I like the size better and it fits with my BJD friends' dolls, the stylized body proportions doesn't really bother me.

    6. This might be a bit weird... but dolls with an obvious, distinct expression that I don't like. Some expressions I do like (like Bellosse, I should be annoyed with her, but I'm not) but most I get soo sick of looking at (for example Mikhaila, I am so sick of seeing that pouty face xD).
I need dolls with neutral expressions so I don't get bored or annoyed with them. This might have something to do with them being popular dolls you see everywhere (again, like Mikhaila).

Also, dolls that are showing teeth (not fangs). I can't stand dolls with teeth.
There are of course always exception, like Iplehouse Freezia. Her I like, but so far she is the only doll with teeth that I like.

    7. Let's see:
      - Arms that are too short. I can forgive the long legs, and the occasional long arms, but it's a no-deal when the wrist doesn't even reach the crotch level.
      - Too wide-set eyes. There's a point when it's too much. Also, when the eyewell doesn't face forward enough that placing the eyes full front makes them look cross-eyed instead.
      - Ugly hip contour. I don't even know how to describe it. Some hips just put me off...

There. I think I have a few more turn-offs but those three are the sort of non-negotiables.

      • x 7
    8. :'( I dislike that "HUGE HIP" dolls have really child-like pouty faces. The only reason I didn't buy the Leekworld Art Doll was because her face was too pouty (and I LIKE pouty, my first doll was a Littlefee Bisou!)

Since I fell in love with the HUGE hip style, I've looked everywhere for a mature face to fit the body. T^T But nothing, I haven't found nothings T n T

I also dislike vampire dolls, actually because it's so sad! I'm a BIG Vampire novel reader and the idea of having a doll who is a vampire is sort of emotional for me. I have no idea why. xD

      My last big turn-off is unrealistic breasts. I don't mean big breasts or very tiny breasts, but...when you see a doll whose bussoms look...I dunno...squished. I just...I kinda cringe. Which is funny, coz..I'm a guy! And I just bet that having squished breasts hurts. xD;;;

      • x 6
    9. That's pretty much what I mean with big breasts, when they are so big that they are squeezed together and get a cleavage, it looks really weird when they are naked, with a few exceptions women can't have a cleavage without wearing a bra, I can understand that the big cleavage can appeal to people that want their characters to wear corsets and such, but squeezed boobs does nothing for me.

And cool on you for being a guy that dares to embrace a "feminine hobby"

      • x 3
    10. :3 Daw, thanks. I guess I didn't understand coz...yeah. I'm.. a guy. XD

I've actually been into the toy hobby for years! It was natural to get into BJDs, actually. But then again, I do like cute things. Just ask my wife!

Didn't mean to derail the topic. I suppose I should mention another pet peeve of mine....

Littlefee Clothes. I collect mainly Littlefee sized dolls and I can't tell you how much I LOVE it when I find MATURE BOY'S CLOTHES, especially hand-made items. Seems like I have to special-order/commission boy's clothes :B When I do find Boy's Style Clothes for yoSDs, I kinda do this dance. No, I.. I actually get out of my chair and dance. XD Sooo elusive!!

    11. Eeee, this. There are occasionally cases where I like or at least don't mind the teeth, but for the most part it bugs me to see them. Do not want.

Expressions are a big one for me as well, but mostly frowns. Again, there are the occasional exceptions, but for the most part, I find any sculpted frown/scowl/pout very off-putting.

Luckily, teeth and frowns can often be hidden or at least de-emphasized by a good face-up, so it's not always enough for me to pass over a doll I love otherwise.

      • x 3
    12. I also don't like the fake breast look. Like an orb cut in half and then glued to the chest... brr
And ribs, I don't like it when the body is all buff but you can still count every single rib.
Also I have problems with mouths. Many are too pouty or kissy for my taste.

@cheesedemon88: Just look up some Iplehouse E.I.D. My hands aren't that small but I can't grab around them. It's not like they're out of place on that body, though. ^^

      • x 2
    13. Open mouths on dolls. Dolls with teeth (actual teeth, not fangs). Dolls that look perpetually sad. Twig arms/legs or very over-emphasized body proportions (huge hips with no chest, chests that look like they could be personal flotation devices, bobble-heads etc). Chubby baby looking body types (even in YOSD/tiny sizes).

      Guess I'm kinda picky.

      • x 3
    14. My biggest turn off is weirdly proportioned noses. Where they're too small or too big or even if the ridges are sharp on an otherwise soft faced doll. It really bothers me a lot. Also Chins that are too thin. My Ivan is really pushing it on that one, so much I'm considering modding him to give him a manlier jaw line.

And since we're on the subject, really pointy boobs bother me. Especially when they have that dip above the breast where the flat part ends and the boob begins. It looks like they were put on as an afterthought like that haha

      • x 4
    15. I think my one big turn-off in the hobby are female bodies.
I rarely (!) find bodies that appeal to me, some of them just look too weird to actually own them. Sometimes it's the shape of the breast like mentioned above, but most of the time I think the torso looks off.
I really like heads from some companies but wouldn't buy the body "belonging" to it.
For example I've got a Soom Super Gem head on the way and already own fantasy legs, but I would never buy the female Super Gem body because the torso just looks streched and too long to me. :(
Maybe the same applies to male bodies as well, because I think on getting the same body for all the floating heads I will get...maybe I'm just weird.

    16. I have a list. lol

-tiny hands. SO GROSS. I've said it before, but it makes me think of that old Burger King commercial where the guy had ridiculously tiny hands. -shudder- And sausage fingers on tiny hands. Especially when the fat little fingers end in pointy nails.
-teeny tiny boobs on adult dolls. naturally flat chested isn't so bad, but when they're marble sized with big gap between them, I hate it. (Doll Chateau for example. I LOVE the boys and the faces are nice, but the boobs bother me)
-the pear shaped trend. If the hips are just a little bigger, like ResinSoul, for example, okay. But exaggerated hips and tiny bust are a huge turn off to me. I prefer hourglass.
-fangs that just look "stuck on". Fangs are fine. Fangs that visibly dig into the lip (like Dikadoll Ruber) are fine. But fangs just resting on the lip with no indention at all bother me. I've had fangs. I used to wear fangs regularly (until Twilight came out...). They rest inside the mouth or pressing into the lip when the mouth is closed. they do not sit lightly on top of the lip unless you have a very snaggletoothed/bucktoothed vampire. lol
-childish heads on adult bodies. I can think of at least one doll (no, it's not Mikhaila, in case you were wondering) that has a head that looks 6-8 to me, but a very mature adult body. It disturbs me. It would be equally disturbing to see, say, an Iplehouse EiD head on a body sculpted like Littlefee. (disregarding the size difference, of course!)

I am ridiculously picky and judgmental when it comes to picking dolls. I have a list of things I won't just settle on. Doesn't mean I have anything against anybody who feels otherwise or owns dolls with these features. I just simply do not want them.

As to the teeth thing, I usually don't like toothy sculpts either. But if it is very well done or just a hint of teeth, I like it. I've just seen too many bad toothy mods and fake smiles. But I DO have a few toothy sculpts of my own. I love my DiM Robel's teeth because it is sculpted so naturally that a faceup can give the illusion of slightly parted lips, not huge fake smile. I love BlueBlood Doll Draven because the shape of his mouth makes it very easy to add teeth by faceup only, or leave them off and give the illusion that he's about to speak.

Ok, I'll stop griping now. LOL

      • x 5
    17. Hands that are too small, twig arms with like.... absolutely no muscle definition, and too thin bodies.

      • x 1
    18. I have been put off by faceups. I almost didn't buy Lilith because I hated the way she was displayed in the photos. Fortunately there were pictures of the bare head. There are a lot of others that I think I might like, but I can't find pictures of clean/wigless heads so I don't want to take the chance.

      • x 1
    19. THIS! I've had quite the time looking for an MSD boy head....

      • x 6
    20. A few of the things that'll make me pass on a doll have already been mentioned... Very child-like female headsculpts on boob-a-palooza mature bodies, and heads that are too small for the thick necks they're perched up on top of are the major ones. I also don't like that "ribs and a ten-pack" thing that's so common on male bodies these days... Although that's less likely to make me completely reject a doll since I tend to keep mine clothed, and it's less obvious than a tiny little pin-head stuck on a tree trunk neck.

      • x 7
    21. My biggest turn-off is single-jointed elbows. I don't have much of a problem with the knees being single-jointed if it's a doll I really love, but I at least want my doll to be able to touch its face. I'm also not a fan of childish MSDs, as all of mine are supposed to be adults.

      • x 1
    22. I have many! XD I'll just list a few...

Short pectorals, don't know what's the deal with them (the taller the "person," the longer the pecs – I get it in "children" and overly stylized sculpts
but in the more realistic ones it seriously turns me off!).
Thin necks coupled with wide-jawlines; I don't mind super long necks as they can always be modified if they are too long but thin necks are hard to fix and to me
they don't look good (more so when the heads are massive and/or have super wide/strong jawlines – especially if the sculpt is realistic-ish).
Narrow shoulders, I prefer broader bodies in general just for the sheer size of most of the heads available, it would make a huge difference
in how I take photos if most of my dolls had broader shoulders/bodies. Not chubby or bulky/thick like the Iple males, just wider bodies that look
like they can hold the massive heads the have on their shoulders.
The last and most important one that probably has kept me from purchasing possible bodies for my "grail-doll" is that torsos are so short/tiny
compared to the length of the legs. I like long legs as much as anyone who's short but I don't like tiny torsos paired up with 2-mile-long legs,
      why can't there be a nice balance? T__T;;

    23. Seconding/thirding/whatevering the mention of most vampire teeth when poorly sculpted. I usually love toothy molds because I think it's adorable when done right, but a good portion of vampire dolls I see have the 'playdough teeth syndrome' where it's as if someone just plopped some triangles on their face. I liked the little pokey teeth that melded into the lips of the CP vampire sculpts, but I've seen some that are bordering on the edge of disturbing with how amateur they're done rofl : (.

My other turn off on molds I otherwise really like, is when sleeping heads have eyelashes that are glued in to stick staight up. Love sleeping heads, and I'm sure the eyelash problem is just an accident, but...when they are these really thin spidery lashes that somehow migrate to a near vertical position, it looks so awkward.

    24. I'm open to a lot of different kinds of dolls. And Ive found that there was dolls I fell in love with in person that I never considered to be my taste before. So I guess my only dolly turn off is 'white resin'.

I do enjoy looking at dolls with white skin, especially when it yellows just a bit and looks nice and creamy.
But I have owned 2 white resin dolls and I sold both, because I just felt like I couldn't enjoy them.
I loved my vamp Shiwoo to pieces, but when I went to a convention he seemed kinda greenish and it made me sad. I dunno, I just like the way normal skin ages and I don't have to panic about any daylight.

But that is just my personal taste! I never would have gotten a white resin doll at first if so many weren't so gorgeous! ;)

    25. 1)When boy dolls are very muscular on very thin bodies with baby-like faces XD (some minifees come to mind and the big dolls from DOD) it just looks weird.
      2) Those kissy lips, pouty faces on most female dolls are a big turn off too!
      3) Vampire dolls.......I love vampires but the ones I have seen in dolls are...disappointing. Those 2 tiny teeth means the doll is a vampire? *laughs*

Those are the only reasons why i would not purchase a doll. (except for #1...I could buy only the head if I like it and put it on a more suitable body).

      • x 1
    26. Very young or effeminate faces on super muscular bodies. It just looks kind of incongruous and if I want a boyish doll, I would prefer he be a bit thin. That and I loathe six-packs. The more they look like a chocolate bar, the more I hate them. Some ab definition is alright, but super-defined six packs are a no-go.

Quinlan's fantasy doll body "button nipples" drive me insane. If he wasn't clothed all the time, I would have sanded them off by now. Well, I also can't put him in tight clothing because you can see the button nipples...

Too thin necks. They look kind of bobble-headed and not-quite-right to me. >_> I talked myself into buying a much larger doll than I intended over this...

      • x 4
    27. gigantic breasts and/or flat butts.
it depressed me everytime I looked a pictures of soom boys from the side. you just don't know where the leg ends and where the back starts xD

      • x 1
    28. So many things... I can't pick just one either... XD

Ugly joints is usually a dealbreaker. There are a lot of joint types that I hate, specifically within double-jointed designs. One that's especially bad is the 'bean' joint that doesn't look AT ALL natural when bent. Another one I hate is when the joint-piece has it's own 'plate' to work as part of the elbow/knee, like Granado joints. Quite upsetting since I otherwise LOVE the Granado nuevo body's aesthetic!

Mismatching heads and bodies. A lot of times I'll love the head but it won't look good on the body or vice versa. In MSD sizes, but even in lots of SDs, the head will look too young for a mature body, especially when they give the females large breasts and long legs or the males unrealistically 'six-pack abs'. For example, I love Fairyland MiniFee bodies but the heads are too large and cartoony for me; I love Iplehouse JID heads, but they seem a pinch too big and definitely too young for their bodies. So frustrating!

Legs that are too long. It seems like 95% of BJD bodies have ridiculously long anime legs, many to the point of spindley creepiness and I usually hate it. On boys it looks even worse, somehow.

I don't like dolls with long slitty eyes (the ones that tend to look 'dark' or super-serious), which seems especially popular in males. They seem so unpleasant, to have 'someone' in the room in a perpetual bad mood for no reason.

There are tons more, but I think those are the biggies for me.

      <3 ali

    29. Helium boobs. The ones that look like the sculptor has never seen a woman, but merely studied porn, hentai, and certain Renaissance paintings.

Also, those "double jointed knees" that basically just give you two knees on one leg, and make your doll look like an alien.

Girly effeminate male heads on muscular bodies.
There is such a thing as testosterone, and it does not avoid people's heads and faces when it develops the rest of them.

Erect missile style nipples. Unless the doll is supposed to be an Alaskan porn star, or a very cold nudist, there is no reason to give every doll nipples that poke holes in clothing.

Childlike faces on mature bodies. JID males, I'm looking at you. No 8 year old has that kind of body development, unless he's had horrible things done to his physiology.

Bad anatomy in general. Pecs do not end below the deltoid ends in general, nor do they sit horizontally. Collarbones can only attain a certain angle if the person is shrugging. Many sculptors put dolls together like they've never taken a single life drawing course but have only been studying bad animation. And yes, before you ask, I am working on learning to sculpt my own, with decently correct anatomy, and not to brag but to state the fact, I have several years of classical life drawing and art training so I'm not just pointing rude fingers here.

      • x 11
    30. Uuugh I second this >.<
And the JID girls too! Their new girl has a baby face and is dressed/styled like a little girl but underneath the clothes she's super curvy. Dafuq.

      • x 3
    31. Number one turn-off: ugly joints.

I want my dolls to have aesthetically pleasant (or at least tolerable) joints since I won't have them in long-sleeved, calf-length clothes all the time. I've seen so many adorable sculpts that I've discarded from my "potentials" list because their default body has ugly joints (I don't want to hybridize for my doll family).

      • x 3
    32. I dunno about the impossiblilty of childish heads on adult bodies, I've been watching the Olympics and I am definately seeing some yet-to-really-hit-adulthood faces on very mature athletic bodies. But that is a physical specialization started through training at a young age.

      My doll turn offs
-resin that feels more like plastic (thinking of my old Demon Garden body)
-poorly proportioned bodies, especially when the arms are too short from shoulder to elbow
-fingers with no structure, noodly appearance
-neck holes set too far forward so the doll has no chin space underneath, odd side view
      -permanently shrugged shoulders
      -overly long upper lip/filtrum
-any doll body with parts that seems randomly tensed when the rest of the body is sculpted in a relaxed pose
      -heads that are proportion-wise so small on their body they can't fit in with my group no matter how much I like them ;__;

      • x 4
    33. Hands are my biggest thing. Hands that are too small for the body (like 5SD), so undefined as to look like a crude drawing of a hand, with fingers too chunky or short or all in one piece instead of separated...

Mostly, I want hands to look like hands at rest. I need the pose of the hands to seem natural, and the details to be well-sculpted. The only exception to this is my Brownie, who is so tiny that it really just doesn't matter. XD

      • x 3
    34. gotta agree with what most is being said.
      Mine
-yep too childish faces on mature bodies
-weird looking breasts, like people were mentioning cylinders just plopped on the chest or squished together. I don't mind big, small or flat chested just that they look realistic and not like a barbie doll
-hmm normally I would say over thin stick bodies, but after getting my Doll Chateau Colin I think he is very cute, accept his uh breasts..lol
      -small childish hands on MSDs
-expressions, I also like kinda neutral expressions, a slight sly smile is ok, but I'm not too keen on the pouty, sad faces, because well they make me sad
-arm and leg proportions to the torso, Love my resinsoul dolls but I think the MSD boy arms could be just a tad longer because natural finger tip length would be mid thigh.
-curled hands or pointing fingers, if its optional hands you can purchase for a different look no problem, but I like natural shaped hands for default

I'm sure there is many more but I'm running out of time..lol

      • x 3
    35. - Childish heads/faces on mature bodies: To me, it's really creepy. You shouldn't have a 10 year old's head on a 27 year old's body with boobies to match. It's weird and a major turn off. I sort of expect the head to match the body, you know? (Just my opinion!) Same goes for males. If you have a childlike face, I will be shocked when you're rockin' a twelve pack.

      - Wide-set eyes: There's a certain point at which they start to look like... I dunno, fish?

      - Big head on a leeeeeetle body

      - The Gonk Face. I really dislike the gonk face. It trumps teeth/tongue for me. My very first doll has teeth but they aren't painted so it's not super weird to me. Plus she's smiling! But the gonk face. Ugh. It's like your doll is going D: constantly and I feel... kinda bad for them! Like they're in pain or something? I couldn't buy a doll that goes D:

    37. These made me laugh so hard. Really. thank you for making the highlight of my day.

Anyway, my turn offs would have to be bobble heads (some heads are just a little too big for the body and it's just not proportionate enough for me).

Overly girly male sculpts (yes, some boys look like they'll never hit puberty but looking at some of the sculpts nowadays, I can't even tell if it's a boy or girl much less strangers).

And lastly, overly thin bodies. Has anyone ever seen that one body that isn't "slim msd" but seriously lacks proportions and is skinnier than a barbie. I don't know what company it is, but I saw one.

I have a new post with updated pet peeves since I have since matured in the hobby.

    39. Haha yes yes yes. I asked in the visual concepts thread for MSD males that didn't look pre-pubescent, and people kept suggesting JID males. After a while I was just like no, no just stop.

Oh god yes I've noticed that about my boy and it annoys me so much.

Anyway, for me white skinned dolls are a turn off. Even if I was going to make a vampire doll or something, I'd still want a bit of colour. Most 'normal' skinned dolls are still too pale for my tastes anyway.

MSDs that look too much like children. I like some mature features.

Anime styled dolls, which is the main reason I don't like the vast majority of tinies, they all seem to have the same 'cute' anime aesthetic, like those little fairyland things that are so popular. I can see why they're popular, but they're just not my thing.

Certain boobs bother me, like on the planetdoll body and doll chateau msd body. At the same time though, they're so weird that I like the bodies. I dislike them but like them at the same time. ._. I don't even understand that.

Noses that have nostrils that just look like the sculpter got a pin head and pushed it in.

Features that are way too pointed and unnatural, I sanded down a dolls nose, upper lip and chin because it was just so damn pointed. I think it's when companies follow an anime aesthetic.

I'm pretty picky when it comes to dolls I like, I always seem to have to do some modding or something or I'm never 100% happy.

    40. I totally agree with a dislike of the porn star/implant bewbs. That's my main turnoff about Loongsoul's girl bodies- they're gorgeous otherwise, but I'd be afraid of poking myself in the eye on those ta-tas! >.<

    41. lol! Yeah, they're scary.

For me, I'm another one who has a hard time with white skin. I think a lot of people get it looking really nice, but I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to get the faceup and blushing to suit the skintone, and it would just look plasticy. Also, I'd be afraid of the sun ruining the poor doll, so I wonder if I'd play with it at all.

    42. I prefer thinner dolls, so I'm not a fan of the male iplehouse bodies. medium muscle is perfect for me. :)

    43. Huge ears, that stick out. I don't know why, but so many sculpts seem to have these, and I can't stand it. Dx

    45. Ok, I just looked them up, and you're right. That is scary. Even the 'small' bust looks like huge implants!

    46. Badly engineered eye sockets!! Gah. Gappy eyes are the thorn in my dollie side, for sure. Also, very large and muscular bodies are a big no-go for me.

    47. Yes to this one! That's my biggest turnoff, when you can see the ribs on a doll that also has abs, my brain will not accept that this is possible. Granted, doesn't matter much while the doll is dressed, but it will bother me too much just to know that it's under there...

    48. Noses so sharp and pointy you could slice meat or pierce ears with them.

Male bodies so ripped they looked like they've been flayed alive. I like muscle definition but there's a line.

Not terribly excited about helium boobs.

No paddle hands. No jazz hands either. I like a pretty and elegant, dare I say, balletic hand.

Really childish faces on mature bodies. Just eeew.

Speaking of faces, I steer clear of angry, annoyed, or mournful looking dolls. I don't need to be glared at or blubbered at by inanimate objects. I get enough of that from my flesh and blood kid, I don't need my dolls busting my chops, too.

    49. Unrealistically ripped male bodies, chunky/poorly sculpted hands, overly shiny resin.

    50. I would say big boobs and overly done hourglass figures. I think they just start to look too much like Barbie! I also dislike extremely childish faces on more adult looking bodies.

    51. Hands are almost as important as face sculpt to me. If I don't like the hands I won't get the doll; and it has put me off quite a few dolls in the past. Shovel-hands, flipper-hands, tiny fingers, pointed fingers, awkward positions, noodley or sausage hands, poorly sculpted, disproportionate & a lack of definition.
I like nice hands, and to be really picky, I'd like a variety of nice hands in fun poses. It's not like you can just... get them teeny tiny gloves, or stick mittens on them... XD

Turn off #2 is really more of a personal preference; but is it too much to ask for swivel-thighs? They add -so- much more mobility to a doll, I don't know why some places still don't have them. (and I don't like the idea of taking a hacksaw to my dolls legs to fix it)

Turn off #3 Poke-your-eye-out nipples. :/ Kicker is you don't really notice it until they're home and you try to dress them, and it looks like they've been out in -10 degrees...

    52. ~Tear ducts that are too close together... this makes the eyes look closer together, which makes the doll look forever cross-eyed to me.
~Two front teeth. I don't mind a little white line to be like, "Hey look, teeth! Cute!" But two front buck teeth are just... Guh. Not to my tastes. (I get that this is a faceup thing, but still.)
~Joint between the belly button and pelvic bone (on girls). It just weirds me out. I get that it's a natural place to bend, but it always looks funky.

There's always more, but those are the absolute no not ever in my life things.

    53. YES. These are the worst >.<

    54. Ok... Mine is fingernails. Typically im fine, there are things I dislike but the one thing thats actually stopped me from buying a doll was its nails. Coughlimhwacough. Absolutely beautiful dolls but crazy growing at a 45 degree angle fingernails freak me out!

    55. OMG... which sculpts? Because I love huge ears that stick out and can't seem to find any!

    56. Double joints that are too bulbous. Honestly, I just don't like double joints that make it look like the elbow or knee bends in two places. My 1/3 scale girl is single-jointed for that exact reason.

    57. YES. The Hujoo MSD action dolls look like aliens!! Those elbows just... what? Even Doll Chateau had almost too much of that for me, but I got over it (probably because my incoming girl is fey, so natural human joints didn't really matter...).

    58. I agree with Bandersnatch about hands! The sculpt of the hands is very important to me, and I will not buy a doll that has subpar hands. Tiny hands on an SD boy are my biggest beef; it's a total turn-off.

    59. I agree on unrealistic body parts, unless it is supposed to be elf like or a centaur or something, (dou to being long lifed they age slowly in the face, they cant help that) but even on them their is a line, also, expression does matter, unless the characer you have in mind is bad @ss

    60. I dislike any head with an "extreme" expression - like a really, really wide smile that's meant to show teeth or even have the mouth open. I don't know why but they almost always weird me out.
