    1. Well, we've wished the forum Happy Birthday, we've thanked the mods, but really, we shouldn't stop there. We have so many to thank!

      Today, your mission (should you choose to accept it rather than face my canine wrath) is to thank another member who has helped you out, inspired you, made you laugh, or just brightened your day.

      To make it really personal and special, rather than posting into the thread, please take a moment to send a PM to that member. It doesn't have to be a long wordy novel, but make it a personal thank you note. Let them know why they've been a help to you, even if you've never had contact before.

      If you want to go the extra mile, thank them in haiku! But just thank someone! :)

    9. This is a wonderful idea <3 Sometimes we take the people in our lives for granted and we need to be reminded to thank them, tell them we love them, etc--even though it may seems obvious to us, it's nice to hear aloud (or in text!) now and then. <3

      I know who I'll thank! :D

    18. I have two longish stories if you'll indulge me... I know I've told them before- I know but I like to think they bare repeating.

      Story #1
      I was doll owner before ever joining DoA and I didn't keep up with all the new releases (man, those were the days!) but I got into dolls right around the time Volks released Heath. I had a friend, elfears help me buy a Delf Lishe and CP and Volks were the only companies I knew about. So once in a great while I would go look at the Volks site- I kept hoping they'd add FCS to the website. Anyway Heath caught my eye and kept going on about how handsome he was. He was available on the website for awhile but well outside my price range.

      Then elfears kept telling me "save up for Heath" I kind of ignored her because he was sold out on the Volks site. Finally I asked why I should save-up for him, he's gone. And she said "I bought him on the marketplace. He came up for sale several times and I thought I'd get him for you. He's in my closet." Well it took me a year but I saved up the $1000 and I've had my handsome (and poorly painted-I keep trying to his face-up myself :...( ) boy for several years now.

      Story #2
      For awhile I had "desperately seeing Kurumi" in my signature. This doll, Volks Kurumi, was my absolute dream girl. Nakitama pmed me one day with a link to an auction in the marketplace for a Volks Kurumi. I had never met or spoken to Nakitama- technichally I still haven't, but I was like wow! That's so cool!

      In the end I won the auction and I've had Kurumi for almost two years now and I wouldn't trade her for anything!

      Anyway, I've always been grateful to Nakitama for that.
