Tell us about your purchases and how your dolls live in general

Hello!! Well, my last arrived body was a fiasco cuz it wasn't the color I had ordered, but the company is working to fix it what about yours?

 

I recently got body or my floating head-- since his body didn't come with a box he's currently one of my only dolls thats a shelf (in this case, headboard) dweller :>

 

Glad to hear that you're having a good time! Happiness is infectious, I'm happy to hear that you're happy I recently procured a secondhand Volks Anais head and bought a body to (hopefully) match, and the head should be arriving to me tomorrow. He's going to be the oldest doll in my collection despite being the 'newest', but I'm excited to see how it turns out, and if he ends up being a good fit.

Other than that, my other boys are doing well! I was just thinking today that my 'oldest' has been with me for almost a year now - time really flies. I've been mentally drained every day after work these days, but I just finished fiddling with one of my boys and it definitely provides a sort of almost-meditative calm. And here I am chancing upon your post!

I ordered a new dress for an old doll in July. It arrived in Oct & I didn't get her dressed until late November. But now she's all fancy & feels new again. Dream of Doll Shall from 2008, I got her second hand in 2009.

A friend gave me a Volks SD17 Body as they're clearing out spare dolls. I had my Migidoll boys on SD13 bodies but Yugin seemed like he should be taller. This body swap worked perfect for him & the Migi guys changed clothes to celebrate. So I guess that's almost like a new doll. XD.

The dolls have usually kept me busy over the past 14 yrs, & sometimes overwhelmed as the horde expanded. This fall there was some home renovation work happening so two groups of dolls got packed away & I've been enjoying the empty space for a bit. Sooner or later it will feel like new dolls when I get around to unpacking them. ;}

 

You might want to rethink buying from Dollshe though. More info over at the Dollshe Waiting Room.

He's extremely flaky and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to how he completes his orders...

Quite a lot of people are still waiting for dolls that they ordered from him three years ago! While a very small number have received their dolls within a reasonable time, it's still very much a big gamble as to whether or not you'll get your doll.

It's certainly not worth giving Dollshe the money you've saved so hard for!

I see! That's good to hear. Buying secondhand is absolutely fine and I hope you manage to find one!

 

My dolls might be silently telling me to change their outfits up a bit haha! And a new doll might be calling to me...and of course all their belongings are calling for new organization!

For the moment, my only BJD is Mia, a 1/4 Doll Leaves Hily. I've really bonded with her and enjoy collecting more clothing, accessories and props. I have a profile for Mia and I try to update it with new photos. Hope you have a great week!
