Limited Item Teasers: DoA 5th Anniversary LUTS LE Doll!

Most of all, thank you DOA for allowing us to post pictures there and offering opportunity to do such a exciting work.

All creators and managers feel fun to make him now.

Also it is a bit shame... this progress information makes us naked (....)
You will recognize really MASSIVE POINTS are changed... Then you will understand why it is hard to answer our doll's release schedule exactly. haha.


I read that many people thought the head is considered as 'elf', I am sorry, he is not...
(I like Elf head, but unfortunately he is not.
Of course, it can be changed possible, at any time. )

It is 'WINGS' from his coronet. Our designers and creators wanted to express 'wings of angel' , so we attached wing parts.


Anyway, at this stage, the parts never looks like wings.

This is start of Headgear - Coronet.
We originally designed to attach eye protector on, but we changed design because of durability and damage possibility during shipment.
It is quite happened to change design while we concern of shipment.


Now I can see great masterpiece which was started from this lump.
I am looking forward to showing the picture of the result!!

 

This work is for making weapon of him.

We need precise proportion and size information, so we draw design on section paper. We compare it with real sized body and modify the design.

Next, we make base of the accessory using the drawing on the section paper.


This scene seems a bit mess but I think some people can get hint about this LE Delf's size.

Q: Can you guess what shape they would be when those are all assembled?




Can you guess it? They would be sword. With this picture, it is a bit hard to guess 'sword'. We will show the picture of assembled sword later.

Actually we had some big meeting yesterday so we post photo late. ^^; So Sorry. (Most of managers are dying) We are quite nervous because heavy rain season interupt our process schedule. Quite many days have been delayed already, so we are hurry now.

You can see that some part of the sword seems bumpy.
Actually the bumpy part is really soft like gum. We still can change its shape.

As you see the sequence from #4~6th picture,
we make drawing - make the lumps and devide them considering convenience of manufacture stage and shipping stage - and make assembled rough shape.

If we have trouble assembling them?
We change the separated structure. Sometimes, we restart drawing.


This sword shape in the picture is original one, which does not exist anymore.
Now its shape is quite different considering many factors. As I know, the design of current - I can not call it as 'final' because it can be modified even tomorrow - until they are taken as pictures, they are not 'final'. - is the third version of the sword.


The whole assembled sword is quite big. Its length is about 45cm, as long as short sword of human being. I could hold the handle! ^^;

Anyway, even though it is 'only' third version what I can see now, it is SOOOOOOO beautiful. All managers want to reveal everything fast, but I do not want to hurry. We have many days to enjoy still, right?

 

This is one of the parts.

The lump is being carved from this stage. All material is hard and dry now, so sculptor draw basic line and carve it.

Personally I like the gemstones!! Some of parts will take Gemstones, they are so beautiful, indeed.

Armor parts are here with color!!!

I was surprised to knowing that Resin color can be variuos like this!!
They are all samples. There can be different colors resin and actually there is no 'real color' here we already picked up. haha.


They are all beautiful color, so we were really sad to pick up only one color.
We considered to make you choose part color, but it was impossible because we should make different kinds of resin to produce different colors parts ... which means time * variety of color. ^^;;;;


We hope we have other chance to show all the different color parts.

I would like to arrange information for you all at this point.


- This boy has SSDF body in normal skin.
- Head will be something SPECIAL - not Elf head. (this is only I can reveal. )
- Will be released at the middle ~ end of August , sale detail is still being adjusted. (Limited style / exact date / price / option) Therefore, it is hard to give you more exact information yet. ^^;




This is how our creators make detail of armor.
It is not engraving, but embossment!!

ALL DETAIL of all armor parts is made like this, one by one. You already know we have headgear, wing on the headgear and arm armors... and they have detail like this. Also you know all BJD is handmade.

...Sometimes I am scared to watch our creators work.

 

Sword work, again.

This is a piece of the third version sword. ^^;


All progress is as same as before -drawing and making shape matching size - and exact detail - not for decorate, but for making each piece matched - is being adjusted.

If this progress is happened when we make doll parts, same. We make parts following drawing, matching each part, adjusting, matching and adjusting. I am not sure my and your dolls are umpteenth version - they were fined and they survived from long harsh progress.

 

These are whole parts of adjusted version sword.
You can see beautiful knight is carved(embossed) on the handle.
There is another shape on another side handle.

This shape was not carved all yet, though.

 

This is a part of headgear - Coronet.
This is only a part, it can be fixed on the head with some other parts.

You can see most of detail is completed. I love this relief, look at the detail of the feathers!!


Many creators are making each part of armor and detail of it. However, all of them are making beautiful embossment all, in my opinion. ^^

 

This is another side of sword handle part - A Dragon.

You see, our creators used to use toothpicker to make detail! It is really funny and amazing. Imagine that your doll's eyeline and lips were carved with toothpicker. haha.

...Unfortunately, we could not make Dragon using Resin. (Our cheif creator wanted to make it first and manufacturing team chief tried to kill him (...)) I think the package woud not be passed through Customs. (...) So, the plan was deleted. ^^;

Oh, I mean, our creators wanted to make a doll as 'Dragon knight' long time ago. However, we could not make real sized Dragon's miniature (...can there be 'Real' proportion of Dragon? Dragon would not be real ^^; ) so we just carved it on handle. Imagine how the dragon should be big for SSDF sized doll (70cm)... Our photographer couldn't even carry it.

 

At last, sword is being manufactured.

This is blade parts in Resin. These are color samples. We are still not sure that transparent parts would be attached or not.
It seems short and small in photo, but it is over 30cm - only blade part.


Tomorrow you can see other part of sword in Resin - handles.

..I saw color painted handle sample just before. It is REAL ART. - not as a manager, but just as a doll owner ... You would love the color, definately. But the blade color is still undecided. ^^;

 

These are handle and ornaments for sword. They are now resin cast form so feeling and shape is a bit different from original one.

As I know, our manufacturing team has never tried making such various colors like this. They sometimes made pink or yellow Zuzu Delf (little animal dolls) as a joke though... Our recent Zuzus (WOLFFY) came from the funny idea. ^^; Now they have lavender gray or salmon pink skin color... We never imagine that before.

Anyway, this challanging would be good experience for much various design of doll in future. Still, I don't know final sword color. I want to see it!!!

 

These are greaves parts.

Today our designers screamed because they had to fix all clothes design over.
Our clothes are started from beginning, so our boy is still naked... except armors. ^^;


Now, we opened all armors to you, even though the photos are all partial.
Detail of them could be changed, but basic structure would be as same as you see.
We will start real 'Secret work' to make his feeling - making detailed story, clothes and makeup for him... So I think end is coming.

Tomorrow we will post last picture of him.

 

Short memo

I am sorry that I could not post photo today (I am not sure of 'today' ... you would live all over the world and different time zone!^^; ).. Our photographer had to spent all her power preparing our Today-released girl, so I could not catch the camera...

All managers and photographer discussed what should the last photo be, we know it should be great. We can not reveal all information though, but we can give you more hint about him.

I am sorry, it is monotone and I could not bear pressure of other managers... As I told first time, we felt we are naked (haha) so we would like to keep the rest progress as secret... Rather than saying we like to tease you (^^; ), because we feel shamed to open photo of progress...

It was great fun to post photos and write comment everyday.


Our 'LUTS CREATOR TEAM' and all staff - designers, makeup artist, website managers and all other managers - had fun to prepare this guy.

We all make our Delfs - from Super Senior Delf to Honey Delf and Zuzu Delf... - through this progress as you saw. All of our dolls are made by LUTS Creators team of LUTS except 60cm range Delf. However, even when we release 60cm range Delf, we take concept of Delf, select or modify head, prepare his concept and make Delf perfect for sale.

It took really long time to prepare this guy - since June. It's been almost 2 and a half month, but progress is still being made. Whole design work would be finished when he is released, then we - website managers - will start long journey since we start its publication. (Actually, my journey was started already - from when I post photos here. ) The process for his sale would be continued about 3~4 months more even from now... As the result we spend almost a half year with him. ^^;

Now you release how your doll arrived to you through long progress, please love them for a long time. They all have different face and body... but heart of staff in the doll would be same thing regardless where the doll was made.



This is big challenge to us. We tried several event of new form in this Summer, and this would be start of new story. It was fresh and a bit risky adventure to us to open working progress. However, it was interesting to see you feel glad to see our photos and to receive your feedback.

Thank you for your attention and love. Also we appreciate DOA for giving us such opportunity to join this exciting event! It is glad to offer precious gift for people who love BJD including our dolls, and you know, DOA and you deserve to receive our gift. We started our business since 2002 and we couldn't have show you this LE doll unless you loved and supported our dolls... and all BJD.

It was big event for our staff too, now we will prepare his real 'sale'. Official information and photos will be posted through our website within few weeks. ^^

Surprise!!

I hope you like the 'special' ABADON.. haha.
(We call our Delf which has two heads - open eyed & sleeping head - as 'LUTS Delf Sepcial' ...
That was why I called this doll is 'special'.. haha. I already offered hint~

We made promise to show you angel for here with reasonable price,
so we tried to offer our 'Knight' meeting the promise.
I hope this can be a little gift for all world BJD owners and DOA members.

also I ask understanding in advance that shipping would take some time because it's big size boy with a lot of extra parts ... and it's first time to accept layaway. ^^; I know you all would understand it.

Finally we made webpage!!​

The webpage was designed by me, mainly,
I spent too much power before sale... Oh. no. ​

I will save my power during weekend, finally we release him on Monday. ​

...It's first time to accept layaway (actually it is not common in Korea, so I'd never experienced such system) so we all are a bit nervous.
We hope we set up this system reasonably. ^^;​
