Ordering Taobao tips

I use BJD Bhiner they're an agent who orders it for you and then sends it to you. There's a service fee and you pay shipping domestic in China and then international, but it's a really great service! I use them mostly for my cosplay stuff, but they are really helpful with getting BJD stuff from taobao sellers especially those who will not ship to the US. Also if you need help finding stuff or translating just message them and they'll help you out!

 

I use Spree Now which has a taobao search engine built into their site, which definitely helps. Like most other agents, they have a service fee, but they're really communicative, and easy to use. You just put items into your cart using either the search or the url of a taobao item of interest, then submit when you've finished getting what you want.

I know a few decent shops that have nice clothes for most size dolls (even though I focus on MSD or 1/4 style stuff), if you ever want some recommendations.

To be honest, I just type bjd in the taobao search bar and select the autofill associated with the thing that I want Using google translate for simple terms has been my best bet so far, but you still have to browse a lot to find anything in particular. You can use the search filters too, but tbh they don't seem to filter very well so I generally don't bother...

I also have a few go-to shops for certain things, like Tata's Paradise and Bears for clothes/shoes and Licht for wigs... they're all companies that have international dealers but are much more affordable through taobao.

As for bjds themselves, I've found that using the term "homemade" in my search turns up a lot of interesting obscure artist sculpts. I found out about Ango-Doll and L'armoire de Dan Dan that way.

Haha, @0bsequi0us, Tata's Paradise is also one of my go-to's! I forgot about Bears when making my list too.

 

I actually use Bhiner for customer service help and a different agent for actually buying the stuff, since their service rate appears to be much cheaper than Bhiner’s. Bhiner has an extremely helpful live-chat option with a customer service rep who can help you understand items if translations are unclear. I’m an easily-confused dummy, so I use this feature all the time

Don’t know it you’re still looking for some tips, but I use Chrome and it translates the language for me. I’ve placed several orders over the last few months and everything has gone off without a hitch. I just make sure I have a currency converter on hand since sometime the prices won’t translate to my preferred currency.

I shop on taobao regularly, since there's going to be a recommendation list posted here, I'll skip that and go into keywords I use!

Doll sizes:
SD Uncle- 叔
SD- 3分
MSD- 4分
YOSD- 6分

Doll clothing can easily be translated via google translate, but can be classified under 娃衣.
Wigs- 假发
Accessories- 配件饰品
Furniture- 家务
Cleaning/maintenance tools- 娃用工具/保养
Eyes- 眼珠 (glass: 玻璃 resin: 石膏眼/树脂眼)

That's all I can think of for now!

 

The payment is fast, but the refund is very late.The item I canceled on the 10th has been paid. It seems that Taobao hasn't applied for cancellation to the credit card company yet. It is said that the expected refund date is the 25th. I want everyone to be careful when purchasing.
