I finally unearthed this older Lionel larger scale train set for my girls to play with. I've been meaning to do this story for a while, but the set wasn't easily accessible. It is now, so here it goes! Red Xes are clickable, or just check out the story in this Flickr album: Tania, Stephanie, and Madalaine - The Biggest Train You can also find a bonus video of Madalaine riding the train here: Tania, Stephanie, and Madalaine - The Biggest Train - Bonus Video Plus, here are some more photos and a video of just the train: Lionel Kraft/Nabisco Holiday 2002 Train Set
I was startled by the train's horn at the end of the video. I love model trains, but I have no experience with them, so I had no idea they could do that! Really enjoyed your story, thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I figured since there was a bunch of Momoko doll content in this one, I'd share it here. I'm glad you found it and enjoyed it I'm sorry you were startled by the horn Honestly, I forgot it made a horn sound. This is the first time I've had the train out in over 20 years.
Hope you had fun building! Your girls are always so cute! I had a few model trainsets as a kid but I never had the floorspace to set the whole track up
Thank you! It was fun, and it wasn't as difficult as I remembered. I saw that we had a decent amount of space in the living room yesterday, so I went for it with the train set. I didn't even use two of the straight track pieces in the set. I could've made it fit in the floor space, but I didn't use them anyway. Actually, they were somewhere else in the box and I didn't know they were in there until I was already done
They look like they had fun! My grandpa has a bunch of model trains, different engines can have different horn noises!
Lol, you're in the hoarder's trap now - once you discover things stashed away decades ago work wonderfully as photo props-- Cute photostory!
Well, I knew where it was. It was just hard to get to. I was going to do this photostory last year. But wait for the POG photostory for things that have been stashed away for 25 years Thank you, Hobby I'm glad you liked the story
Loved your photos and story!! I've always loved model trains and seeing them with your girls has made me all the more determined to get ours out of storage and let my gang have fun with them. Space has always been an issue, however where there is a will there is a way! We actually bought some tiny N scale to set up for them and will at some point, but using the larger scale the way you have will be fun to try too! Thank you for sharing and for the inspiration .
Thank you! I'm glad you loved the photos. I love doing little photostories like this. And you're welcome for the inspiration I hope you set up your N scale trains and share some photos sometime. I hear you about the space. We pretty much just have the HO scale train that goes around the Christmas tree every year since the space is already being taken up. I believe the train in this story is O scale. It was literally in its box for over 20 years. I only had it out of the box for a couple hours at most Here are some more train and doll photos you might like. This is the prequel to the story in this topic: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjBW7Fx Here's Madalaine's first time with trains: https://flic.kr/s/aHsjxxDzSe Leah and Eva's first Christmas together. This contains two HO scale trains going around the Christmas tree. I might have to do this again this year. It's been a long time since I used the outer set. https://flic.kr/s/aHsk6te8mE Here's Leah and Eva again in the holiday season many years later. https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjAmh6a
I love it , such a wonderful story!!! I love your girls Tania and Stephanie are so sweet and Madalaine so wonderfully capricious like a pixie I love the mixing of sizes and the train!!!! And the posing photography are so natural as always looks like it is happening in real life!!!
Thank you very much I'm glad you enjoyed another one of my daughter photostories. And yes, there's Madalaine! She's a Momoko Doll Lacy Modernist. She's the oldest of the three in terms of maturity, and I've had her the longest. She was my first dolly daughter I know the scale difference is unusual, but my daughters all belong together no matter what size they are I really had to do a lot of work with the posing in this story, too. It's difficult when working with train pieces! Of course, Madalaine with her fashion doll body did the least amount of work even though it's the easiest for her to hold poses. She did a lot of work on the Christmas train a couple months earlier, so she was taking a break this time. Overall, I just wanted to take sweet photos of my dolly daughters having fun The train was a fun activity for them.
Train building is always a fun activity !!! I love the size difference they look awesome side by side and you are right they belong together!!! I understand the difficulty which makes it even more impressive!!! It doesn't matter who does more of the building if everyone's having fun and I thing all the dollies in the set and their proud daddy are having fun!!!! It is such a sweet story bravo to the daddy who wrote it!!!
I'm glad you find the size difference to your liking. Tania and Madalaine spent a lot of time together being sisters with the size difference. It was so cute! For the train, it was also good to have the different dolls enjoy the train in different ways. Of course Madalaine is smaller and can get into more trouble I loved letting her ride on the engine after the train was done. I thought the set had a hopper, but it didn't. I may have to get a secondhand hopper for cheap. It's a sort of bucket on a train car, so Madalaine would sit inside it. Thank you for your compliments. This Daddy really appreciates it
A hopper would be a nice addition!!! I love the mix of sizes in doll play it makes everything so lighthearted and lovely !!! They are all so lovely together !!! I have a sense that Madalaine would get into trouble even if she was a giant though lol
Maybe I'll have a hopper by the time I get the train set out again. Considering how it was in its box under my bed for about 20 years, who knows? It might be 2045 before I use it again Oh no, I think I hear Madalaine rustling around, trying to get to the train set
