*LOL* Well, Lukas' body has met me, but I would love to meet the whole cute little critter now! And Mama Pink Hair! I'll have to make my way on down to Texas sometime here I think! (Or you two can make your ways up to WA state... whichever works! )
Here is a new wig for Lukas, I think I might be on the right track, he is looking really good in this one. olukas by SteamWitch BJDmama, on Flickr I might make another one a bit longer for him this one is for another doll.
I'm wondering what he would look like in the motion portrait thingy. Guess I'm give it a try and giggle a lot - probably.
Click on my signature Flickr link, Mylas has his motion portrait up, I'll try to get a good one of Lukas. It's a free app on android or google play..
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! He blinks!! He makes a noise! He's ALIIIIVE!!!!!! ThatisSOOOOcool!!! I need this app! NEEEEEED!!!!!!!
Isn't it the coolest! I love it, it takes some working with it to get the right one, it's not perfect but when it turns out well it's spooky cool! Hint and tips, you can move your finger across your screen and the head will move the same way and when you speak it will also speak. Play with it a while before you record the mini movie!
OfKa Lukas evolved a bit more so more photos of him. Even more on Flickr. DSCF0834 by SteamWitch BJDmama, on Flickr DSCF0835 by SteamWitch BJDmama, on Flickr DSCF0833 by SteamWitch BJDmama, on Flickr
OfKa Lukas!!! YAY for more pics!! He's gotten some added bits! Aw, I miss him! He is so unique and awesome!
This was an exciting transformation to read through. Brava to you for uncovrring OfKa Lukas in his true form. I love it.
Someone said they wanted him, like really interested. He is chillin' in a chair at the local Bookstore Coffeeshop so he is communing with the locals. What to do???
@SteamWitch So I just read through this whole thread of your boy's transformation journey. All I can say is wow! There's so much going one, so may details. It's like you could never get bored of looking at him cause there's so much to look at! Amazing job! Did you sell him? Did the person offer a reasonable amount?
Thank you, he is an amazing character. I loved everything I did on him especially the dares. No, I haven't sold him. He is still there.
He wasn't priced, he is just on display but someone asked the owner about him. I doubt they will like my asking price, but why I gave her one is a mystery.
Definitely, they usually don't understand that they are art, not just a doll. Especially one like this one.
I have just read the whole project back to back, and actually did stop for snacks and cookies!!! What a truly entertaining way to spend an Evening. SteamWitch you are an enigma, the way you create things blows me away. I would love to be in a position to see this guy in real life * nips accross the pond for a quick peak* the whole Russian script thing too, made me smile when that was even part of the transformation vibe, heh.
The whole experience of creating him was amazing and wonderful. I felt that he was part of the whole world because I had so many people cheering me on, daring me and aiding with suggestions and helping with language. I should probably download this thread and make a book for him. I also need to check to see if there are any new photos of him so I can add them here.
Lukas came home from the Bookstore, not selling him as he is too much of me. I am getting Ringdoll jointed hand for my two 72cm guys and won't need the translucent ones they are using so I thought I would try a pair out on Lukas. Not quite yaoi hands but really close. I have all the colors of idye poly I wonder what color I should try? Or make the fingers ombre fading at the palms????? DSCF4291 by SteamWitch BJDmama, on Flickr
Squeeeeeee * literally jumps for joy* I am so pleased he has returned home from the bookstore!!!! Ok, for my 2 pence worth ....Ombre fading to the palms sounds really good as for colours...???? I am thinking Browns or greens to go with the whole wood and tree's colouring. Gonna be so much fun to watch more creation of Lukas
Thanks! Now for the fun part taking the jointed hands apart , then restringing them with thread or something so I can get both hands dyed with the same gradation from fingertips to palms. I hope to start on this later this week. I am excited to push Lukas further in his evolution.
I know I haven't worked on this lately but I have another dyeing project so I am going to have a 'dyeing day' and do all of it.
I missed the jointed hands update!! But what a GREAT idea!! I love him with the jointed hands (so much better than the pointy finger hands) and what a super idea for an ombre/graduated coloring! OMG you are so creative and brave and I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy he's staying with you!!!!!!!!!! Like, seriously happy! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!! I was thinking of the little monkey a day ago in fact, so this is great news!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR and HAPPY NEW DOLLY MODS YEAR! XOXOXOX You are such a wonderful inspiration!
Thank you @chalyss and Happy New year to you. Mods to be made for sure. Did you see the Ringdoll Mechanical arm I steampunked???? Dyeing day is tomorrow, tentatively. Jointed hand disassembling will commence this afternoon, I hope .
Looking forward to the update on dye-ing day... I am getting drawn into the idea of dyeing one of my dolls. When I see the results it always looks so exciting.
Well the dying didn't go as expected. I used Kelly Green idye poly and it came out mostly purple with a hint of green. I also mistakenly chose the hands I had tried to blush so they had sealant residue on them. Though it wasn't planned it made some fingers look a little like moss agate. I found some green mirror leaf and decided to give it a try just for giggles which is what OfKa Lukas is all about anyway. So I got Lukas out of hibernation and introduced them to each other. I noticed his fish is missing, maybe he went back into the water. Hmm have to find the fish or something else to hand from his collarbone. Who knows what will happen with Lukas in the future but he is still here and protecting this part of the world.
Actually, that seems serendipitous! At first I thought, OH NO! But when added to his body it all flows seamlessly! The ball joints at his wrists provide just the right amount of connection to the tan of his skin and the dark, almost-black dye ties him in with his mane and the lower legs! I'm not sure that could have ended up better! The green rub to the hands perfects it all! LOVE IT!!! Congrats on your lovely new hands, Little Monkey!
Thank you so much Lukas' favorite cheerleader. Yes, it seems that OfKa gets what he needs despite my efforts to do something different. That is the way he has been from the beginning. As with all of this if you click on the photo you can get more detail on Flickr.
I went on a pic faving spree!! *L* So many things to love in your flickr albums! And of course, OfKa Lukas is just a special interest of mine. Sweet smiling monkey! He gets more beautiful every time I see him- like something new to discover every time I turn around! (the gift that keeps on giving? Hah!)
He makes me smile every time I see him. He has been hibernating while I rearranged my room, but I haven't finished yet so he got packed away again after the photos. He will get his place of honor before too long. I saw that spree and returned with answers.
OfKa may have a new look. I'm trying it out and so far I love it. I have come a long way since I originally worked on him. So here is another head I had to modify/save. Elfdoll June with eyes modded too open. OfKa by SteamWitch, on Flickr ofka Lukas transformation by SteamWitch, on Flickr
They are fabric, an alligator leather kind of stuff, but you can see the weave between the leather-like coating. Yah, I think he made it all the way through his transformation and was able to choose his own face.
Thanks, thanks! I didn't do a lot of styling on that wig before I took photos. I was too excited to see what he was going to look like through the lens.
I'm so glad. I wish I could get all the photos replaced but right now the best I can do is replace a few and delete the dead PB ones. He happens to be running with elves these days so he will get more photo exposure this summer.
