Today marks the arrival of my first (non-pet) resin BJD! I ordered her on July 4th while Supia was having a sale; her status changed to "Before Shipping" near the end of September and she shipped out on October 14th. I did unfortunately (though not unexpectedly) get dinged by Canada Post, having to pay almost $80(!) in taxes and customs. For some reason, I couldn't pay it online, and living in an apartment building, I wasn't able to pay at the door, so I did end up having to go to the post office to get her. All is well, though - she arrived safe and sound, with no issues She's on the 60 cm double jointed body, with a small bust, in Peach skin, with "Normal" faceup. PXL_20241018_193055439 by Unfriendly Rodent, on Flickr Elf ears! I don't see myself using them but they were included anyway and are cool to have. PXL_20241018_193327368 by Unfriendly Rodent, on Flickr If you zoom in, you can see there's glitter on/around her nose. I did notice that her faceup doesn't have the noticeable yellow eyeshadow from the promo pics, but I don't mind that. The faceup is otherwise very close to the promo pics, IMO, and is very delicate and pretty. (Minor gripe: there appears to be a bit of glue stuck in the lashes on her left eye. I don't know if that's fixable but I won't complain too much about that.) PXL_20241018_193542595 by Unfriendly Rodent, on Flickr Poseability is so-so. I can't compare with much since, again, this is my first (human) resin doll, but she doesn't appear to be able to sit on her knees or anything. I'll have to play with her more to see. Edit: She can, in fact, sit on her feet and also touch her face. Just needs a little more pulling on her limbs than I was comfortable with at first. PXL_20241018_195419911 by Unfriendly Rodent, on Flickr With eyes, wig, and clothes. I'll have to find a different wig because this one is definitely too big for her All in all, I'm very happy to have her and can't wait to experiment and find her style. Thanks for reading!
She's amazingly elegant and lovely looking. Congrats on her! Oh and also, if it's eyelash glue that you see the bit off in her lashes, wet a Q tip with some warm water and gently try to dissolve it as that glue should be water soluble. Just make sure you don't get too close to where the eyelashes are attached, wouldn't want to dissolve that glue!
Thank you! And thanks for the tip - I was able to loosen the chunk of glue with the wet Q-tip and then pick it off very carefully with some tweezers. Much better!
