Resin Comparison Supia hybrids/resin comparisons? Please?

I don't know if it was asked before; here is my "problem":
I love Elfdoll Soah but don't really like her body (on the official pics, it looks more like plastic than resin...), for Roda, it's the opposite ^^;;
So I wonder if a Soah head would fit on a Roda body...

Anyone knows please??

 

Actually, I put my Hypermaniac Ishta head on Roda's body and in spite of the fact it is a larger head and normal resin, it looks extremely good on Roda's body (I brought her to a meet where other people agreed it looked surprisingly good).

I'm not sure Soah would work as well as she has a darker and more peach skin tone than the Hypermaniac or Roda.

BTW, I had the exact same problem as you with Elfdoll body and am still trying to find one that I like a lot. Currently my Sooah is on a Dollstown body (which is a perfectly terrible match, I could only get pinky white which is about as pale as beauty white if you ask me). I'm not saying it's the best solution but hopefully Dollstown will come out with a nice NORMALSKIN girls body this time. ;_; If so I will be one of the first to hit the order button!

Sizewise it would probably match quite well because both Roda and Soah have fairly small heads, and Roda has a very thick neck, but...

Rainydoll resin is a much darker and opaque pink than the pale pinkwhite of Roda. You'd have a better match with a Cp body, or Domuya Flexi or even a Volks one. There are so many companies out there now that you should have little trouble finding a body for Soah that you like and that will suit her.

Ahhh! I just switched her out for another Dollstown body. ^^; (She was wearing Luna's dress and Roda's too... um... endowed for the dress to look right).
BUT! Although Hypermaniacs are such a pain (the hole in the head is only large enough for elastic, not a hook, so you have to pull the elastic through separately and THEN add the hook... it's really annoying) I CAN put Sooah or Soah's head on Roda now... only my roomate has the camera until Sunday. Will you PM me then and remind me to make the picture for you?

For Hypermaniac/Roda an old photo will have to do I guess. ;_;

 

Here you can see the skin color difference. If you have a dress like this that covers up the neck it makes it a lot less noticable. Soah's head is actually about the same size as Roda's, Roda's being a little smaller. She's got a really long neck though and it's a much more reallistic head/body proportion than most dolls.

 

Does anyone know how the urethane beauty white Supia resin matches Volks white, LE or FCS? Any comparison shots are information would be much appreciated.

 

Good news! It turns out the Supia white urethane is a better match for Volks FCS white than the LE white.

What a great comparison! Thanks for that. I have a tanning urethane Yisol and I was wondering what the difference was bewteen the French & regular, too. I'm quite fond of the regular urethane resin, although the French does have that lovely depth to it.

 

The Supia french resin is very smooth. It was so slippery that my french resin Roda couldn't really hold poses until I coated the body with MSC to give the resin some tooth. The urethane Roda I have now can hold poses without any kind of sueding. The urethane does not have the buttery soft look and feel of the french resin, but I like the more solid look of it and the texture allows MSC to stick much more readily.
The slight translucency of the french resin can work for realism in direct light because it has some depth that adds shading to contours. When backlit however, the translucency can make the resin glow in an unearthly way.
The flat quality of the urethane has a slightly more "dead" sculptural look to it, but blushing can be added to shape contours and its appearance under different lighting is more consistent.

 

I'd love to get a Roda, but I am not sure I can cope with that itty skinny bod of hers. Anyone have any insight on whether the NS/Beige Supia will match the NS Iplehouse?

I recently saw photos of the Supia Roda 58cm body, and I really, really love it.

So! On with the questions!

1.) Does anyone know if the Supia Roda normal resin will match with the DIM Minemee resin?

2.) Can I buy a Supia Roda body seperately? Or do they sell them with heads only?

 

I have a NS Sooah head on the way that's one half of my dream doll and I'd love to put it on a Supia body. All things that seem too good to be true usually are, so please help me crush my dreams (or make me very happy!) and tell me about, or show me Elfdoll heads on Supia bodies.

I understand new Supia bodies have a normal head attachment system more conducive to making hybrids? I'm slightly concerned with resin match, but proportion is my main issue. Thank you so much! ♥

 

From what I understand, the Supia necks are a bit thicker, so you'd have to sand or dremel it down to fit the Elfdoll head on properly. But if you're not worried about color match, I don't think you have much to worry about!

 

I'm dying to see different hybrids with a Supia head on different body or a Supia body with a different head on it. I'm planning on a normal beige (non-French resin) Rosy and would love to put her head on a curvier body. The slender Supia body fits my NS Elfdoll Sooah's character better, so I'd be especially excited to see an Elfdoll HeadxSupia Body Hybrid!

In addition, I can't seem to find any pictures of the Supia head's neck hole, or any measurements for the neck. I'm assuming both dolls will need some modding, but I'm unsure of what sort. Any help would be greatly appreciated! ♥

 

Here is Tokyo, my Elfdoll Hazy on a Supia body. The resin match is pretty much perfect
I did try to put a Lydia head on this body but it looked a bit too big. Hazy works since her head is smaller than most Elfdoll heads.

First off Supia is girls only and if you mean Limwha which is Mano it would look odd as Hue is a boyish face and the 15 year body works well enough and resin matches. You can't even put him on a dollshe body. Only body that will work are B&G bodies. You would need to go Freshskin I think as their NS is more pink. But best check as it's been awhile since I had B&G doll and DT head.

If your meaning a Hue as a girl then I would still go for a B&G body not Supia.

 

Dollstown heads are also really big (9+) and Supia Girls (if that's what you meant) are really tiny. I have seen people put the Supia heads on the Dollstown Elf body, which is their in between 50cm size, so you definitely couldn't put the large DT heads on the Supia body.

I tried this combination about a year ago, and now I'm sorry that I didn't take any pictures! The resin match wasn't very good; the Elfdoll NS was quite a bit darker than the Thaasa NS. But that almost didn't matter, because I thought the Soah head looked much too heavy for the slender Thaasa neck. For me, the Thaasa body just wasn't in the right proportions for the Soah head, even though I really wanted it to work.

Of course, other people's opinions about what looks good may be totally different!

The Supia normal beige is a tad pinker than the Dollstown Oriental skin....Dollstown has a bit more yellow to it.....It doesn't worry me too much about the match being perfect...I'm just happy the head fits and has a great range of motion.......

Hello!! I´m planing to buy a Lisa Rubik modeldoll head, but i´m having lots of problems to find a body for her.

I´m looking for a girl body no taller than 58cm (or 60 as much,but i prefer smaller) realistic ( if it has strong muscled arms,much better) and if posible, thin but well proportioned. After hour of searching and searching the ones i like more are the limwha body, the dollstown 15 and 13 body (these one have the arms i´m talking about) and the supia body.

I´ve been told that limwha won´t fit with a dollmore head anyway. Then dollstown 15 body is too big and the 13 version have the chest to small.
The only one that would have a chance it´s the Supia body. In theory the resin colour should be similar. Futher more, the supias have a very small head an dollmore dolls have small heads too, so they should fit. But model doll have a bigger head, so i don´t know if it should fit

Do anyone have a photo of a model doll head on a supia body? It should help me a lot!
Or if you have any other hybrid of model doll head + another body or know what should i use, any help should be welcome, buecause i really don´t know what to do

Probably not going to get much of a response on this one, but I was wondering if anyone knew Supia's resin is anywhere near a match for I-Doll's, in either normal or white urethane? I'm looking to put a Rosy head on an I-Doll body.

If some one who has either of these doll could tell what they are a match to, that would also be appreciated.

 

I have put my ws lana onto a shinydoll Thaasa 2 ns body. Resin match is very close but not perfect. The head fits perfectly though.

I wonder if anyone can share a picture of Supia BW with.. any paper white doll? (or even just a white paper is fine)
I am thinking of the new Domuya body.. but Domuya looks like paper white color..

 

This is unfortunately a rather over exposed photo, but here's a BW urethane Roda with cream white Soom. He's pretty paper white in person, whereas she has a distinct yellow undertone.

 

What about a Dollmore Eve body. The problem with the bodies you have suggested is that they are all very thick in the neck area, which means you need to modify the neck or head opening to get a good fit. IF you don't want to mod, you need to look up Lisa Rubik's default neck size and then look for other bodies with a similar neck size.

Yes, NS is darker than WS.. but not much of difference in my opinion...

Kaye shes gorgeous - I have a few questions....did you ever try another dollstown colour on her? Is your Lana NS or WS? and could you post any nekkid pics to show proportion? I want to get an elf body for my lana but am picky about resin colour and am not sure which one to get. My lana is white skin. It seems slightly warmer than soom ws and lighter than shinydoll ns, but I also want her to be younger.

Yes I see not much at all, My Supia head is closest in color to my Dollstown freshskin than any other doll I have, also matches a minimee head I have.

 

I've talked to the Dollfamily rep here on DOA.
She said they've change the NS-P to a darker one which will probably match DZ NS-P. I guess now the color could be closer to Supia NS?
I've already got their body for my BW Rosy. We will see...........

Supia's normal beige resin is not too far from Glorydoll healthy skin resin (which has a hint more pink and is also apparently close to Dollstown Fresh skin). The current batch of Souldoll NS is about a shade darker than Supia's NS resin.

I have an SSDF. To compare with my Supia BW Rosy. Luts Real skin is "creamy yellow" whereas my Supia is "Pinkish creamy light yellow"
The match is bad in my opinion. I can show you a picture if you'd like.

I didn't find anything like it, so I've decided to create this thread I'm planning to purchase a Supia body for my Msdoll Maly head and any picture showing how she matches other heads (I'm worried that her neck would be too thick) would be helpful. Thanks!

 

MSDoll heads fit on Volks bodies and other bodies with reasonably thick necks, so I don't think you'll have to worry about the body's neck being too thick.

 

If I can add one more request to the Supia line, I've entered into a split for Soom Galena wings, and I'm hoping that they will fit into a Supia Girls arm socket with little difficulty. If someone would humor me please? If you have a Rosy, it would be a plus! Thank you!

Hi, I hope someone can help me out with this. Would a Rosy head work on a Volks Dollfie Dream II body? Perhaps both in their beauty white resin? ;_; I adore the Rosy head but want to find another body for her.

 

I think I post this somewhere else.. but here's my BW Rosy on DF pink body.
The DF pink is more pinky than Rosy. I know it's not that noticeable in the photo, but in real life, it is much more obvious.

 

Just wondering if it could be possible to hybrid an SD sized Supia head (Rosy, Roda, Lana or Lina) in urethane normal skintone, on another body such as Narae 60 or Aria doll?

Please share pics if you have tried an hybridation, tips and advices are very welcome too!

It was a few years ago and the doll is long since sold, but I had a french pinkywhite NaraeMature head on a french resin pinky Supia body and it was a great combo. Not sure about the newer resins since I don't think Narin and Supia are cast at the same location, but it seems plausible that the ws colours would at least be similar, perhaps even the NS. I'm sorry I can't shine a more tangible light on your question...
