Hello! I am new to this forum and I was just wondering if there were any recommendations? I currently just purchased my first BJD and I want to start saving for my next.

You might have better luck looking at general doll discussions. Are you thinking about getting a Supia? Tthese Supia girls are very realistic, and my favorite posers so far, maybe even moreso than Fairyland. Limhwa and Iplehouse are also very realistic. There's more of course. But you can also get faceups to help less realistic dolls look more realistic. Faceups can make a world of difference.

 

I love the makeup of my Emma, I asked her with Smokey Makeup and fits perfectly with her skin tone

I bought my girl in an event that occurred on July, I don´t know if there will be an event before. :/

 

Supia has been doing 2 events a year. One for summer, one for winter. We don't know for sure when or if there will be another one, but we can hope. Keep your eye on the website.

I was having the same concerns with Hannah. I ended up going natural, but I'm sure these girls look amazing either way. Smokey may add to a more mature look?

I personally feel that the mature you can see a doll with smokey makeup depends on the color of the skin you choose, and of the mold. I feel that not all makeups are equal. Hanna looks very mature here (https://www.flickr.com/photos/27919243@N06/14547641171/), I don´t feel my Emma looks like her :/

Does anyone know if Supia tan resin is consistent? Specifically if resins from the years 2013 and 2015 will match?

I have went back and read that some of the girls heads run small? So what would be your guys wig suggestions be? more so for a Lina?

 

a stretch 7/8, especially for the elf girls or else their ears will pop off.

 

I'm wondering if I could use a silcone cap on the doll's head to keep the wigs from slipping off. Has anyone ordered these and do they help? Otherwise I've used moleskin on the head. That works ok too.

 

I have a silicone cap on all my dolls, but even the silicone cap is 7-8" size and any bigger would also pop the ears off.

 

Where did you order the caps from? I need a few.

From different companies, can't remember anymore since I've ordered so much stuff from different places... Probably dollmore, luts and crobi. But you can find them from most companies and ebay.

 

Hi everyone! It's been a long long time since I've posted in this thread and I am happy that I am able to once more! I have had a Supia Lina for a little over a year now, and I sent her off to a faceup artist soon after she arrived home to me early spring last year. The faceup was gorgeous, but a month into having her home with me the faceup started peeling and bubbling.. and that's when she got put in her box and sat in my closet for a year. I thought about selling her multiple times, but couldn't bring myself to do it as she was my first doll after a 4 year-hiatus. With that in the past, I have built up the courage to send her out to another faceup artist and she has happily arrived home to me! I am so glad that I did not sell this girl, but here she is, this is June! ^___^~

So i have another question, What is the normal wait time for a doll from supia? during an event how much longer is the wait time?

Question! Hi, guys, I am new to the thread, though I have been lurking for quite some time >.> This summer, I plan to buy Ariel in normal skin. I was wondering...if I got the smoky makeup, would the eyebrows be black like on the tan version? Or is that just for the tan? I love Supia's makeup, but I need my girl to have black eyebrows, and I do love the eyebrows they put on the tan example.

 

I just went thru that when I ordered my Muse. I requested dark brown brows...not the reddish brown shown. They were fine with that. You can attach a photo to show them what you want.

I'm unsure which one to choose myself.
