How many are going to order the boys during the Winter Event?

If I'm not mistaken, Spiritdoll is Volks NS, which has a yellow undertone. Supia NS is more of a pale pink. >.>

I love that the heads and bodies are already available separately. Even though a whole Supia doll still costs less than an MSD these days, I think I'd rather satisfy my curiosity by just getting a Joshua head for starters.

 

I think Joshua in that floofy wig looks a bit like Benedict Cumberbatch, but I am so enamoured with the sculpt I took a leaf out of St. James book and ordered his head. I do like the body, but I think it's a bit small for the head, even if I do think it would convert nicely into a lean muscular girl. Plus one would save $75 by ordering the full doll instead of the body and head separately.

I think their bodies are sculpted so beautifully. I mean... it's Supia so I'm not surprised. I can't wait till tax return time, maybe I'll have the lovely Joshua join my family. He seems like a good dood. XD

 

I told myself no more big boys..... but Joshua is so beautiful...!!! Maybe when all my other dolls are 'finished'...

 

The heads are available separately-- I don't know if that's good or bad. The bodies are quite nice, but I figured I could avoid temptation because I have no more room for big full dolls. But the Zion head is so lovely, I might be able to find room for it. >.<

I honestly think it's a camera distance thing... Unless I'm missing what you're seeing (could be... haven't gone to bed yet.) So excited for everyone getting them.

 

kaiohon : None of my resin kids has exactly the same pair of eyes. ^^ One is always smaller/bigger/wider/higher/lower than the other... ^^ So I don't think it would be a problem. I always take photos from an angle where the discrepancy won't look so bad. :3

 

Someone did point out his two eyes seem to be at a different height, but really, I just think that makes him look more "real". You hardly notice them in the faceupped pictures at all really, and most people don't take pictures dead-on unless to show a faceup too. So I don't think it is going to be really noticeable.

 

That lopsided face kinda disturbs me, but I can't get over how lovely shape his eyes and nose are~ In Joshua I like how it's more masculine and older looking. I'm having some hard time choosing between these two gentlemen. I'd like to have them both, but two guys with the same body type doesn't really work for me. :< (This makes me think about hybridizing tho')

 

Real people don't have perfectly symmetrical eyes, and it's quite common for hand sculpted dolls to exhibit the same variance. That's not a casting issue. His jawline is asymmetrical too.

I dont mind the differance in placement. To me it just makes for a more real loooking doll. I think Joshua will be coming home to me in April.

I ordered Zion in normal skin last night. I waited until almost the last minute for the free shipping! So now the wait begins!

 

I can't wait to see your Zion's! lol I want one so much but since I don't have the money right now and you can't have the layaway option with the free shipping event, I'm gonna have to wait a long time to order him. Good thing that he's not limited though.

(I thought the same thing about Joshua when I saw him for the first time Honooko, they totally look alike!)

 

I can't wait to see owner photos of these boys. I'm dreaming of getting one at some point, but I'm not sure which one of the faces I like better! Sometimes it's Zion's wonderful crooked smile in the lead, and sometimes it's Joshua's chiseled features.

I've heard the rumors that Supia's doing tan skin again in a few months, and I really really hope they do a tan option for the boys...

does anyone think that a Supia Boy head would work on say...a fantasydoll body or...AoD body...or even like a resinsoul Gang body? Size wise? I really want Joshua but I can't afford the full doll so I was thinking of going for a cheaper solution body.

 

I won't really have a good idea until he comes in. I don't visualize raw dimensions very well.

 

Joshua's head is big and his neckhole is wide, so I'm not sure what other lower priced bodies he would suit? I'm planning on putting mine on the old Dollshe female body, and he will be a girl at that.

I am definitely smitten with Joshua after seeing him without a face-up. I may need to look into other male bodies that might work for him too, since the Supia body is not in the budget right now.

 

Supia boys and girls have larger neck holes than most SD dolls I know. Well, maybe Volks or anything Volks compatible would work? ^^ Volks have large neck holes, too. Maybe Raurencio Studio?

 

Hmmmm, don't know that I would save much money with either of those brands unless the deal of the century comes up in the marketplace. I may have to eventually just go with the Supia body and sell a doll or two. I really love my girl's body and overall quality. I am looking forward to seeing some owner shots of the Supia male body.

 

Did anyone get a shipping notice from Supia this week? Supia informed me that they will ship out my Zion early this week but haven't got any shipping notice from them to date T^T
