I noticed a similar problem with my Rosy and considering I do tons of head swaps, I had to remedy that, lol. I used some thinner elastic meant for arms or 1/4ths to create a small loop, then tied it and looped that around the end where the s hook was and then onto the actual hook, lol. If you do this, just be mindful it will add some length to the overall elastic, which will loosen your doll. It might not be enough to make a difference, but longer added loops definitely will!
In the end I just pulled up the one string from the leg part of the stringing, because the arm stringing was so tight I literally couldn't pull it up through the neck hole. I am really not sure if I'm friends with this body. The neck seems too long for the head, doesn't it? At least I am happy with his face-up.
@toveb As I told you in my post, only the two leg loops go into the head anyway (I don't even know if there is a body out there where the arm loop is pulled up into the head?) Your boy looks very handsome, and very comfy in his stylish cardigan. Thanks for sharing!
Oh, duh me. You're right! I forgot. But I found it difficult to pull up both elastics from the leg also. Do you think it will cause issues later down the line?
Yep, seems like they did not really take into account the width of the head hole when they chose these elastic strings^^ All I can say, I had my boy for 8 years now, I did tighten his strings a bit not long ago, and I did not notice any damage caused by the strings. I always felt that because of their thickness the strings helped him pose a bit better, although that's always a bit difficult with Supia dolls in general (I sueded mine, too) Your boy looks lovely!
This may be a silly question but does anyone have a picture of the 60cm supia doll girl body or ballerina body next to the 65cm boy body? I want to make sure I like the height difference
Does anyone have a comparison of the new cream skin to the prior normal skin? I am tempted by the new 75cm body!
Thank you! Update! Supia News on Instagram says the 15% discount will drop to 10% when the makeup pictures for the free head are posted!
Got my Gideon. Love his body! Kathy P on Instagram: "Complete surprise today. Supia Gideon arrived with ballerino feet. What a beautiful body! Absolutely no incentive to dress him. I thought in the heat I should wait to do is faceup on the weekend but I couldn’t wait to see him! Mostly good. Some manipulations to stand but then solid (hips are wiggly and torso is top heavy like a Soom but better). He looks extremely natural and always handsome in poses. I only have one doll whose hips lock great for standing (dfh 68 girl) and I want them all to have this now. After my Loongsouls all dolls are wiggly to me. It’s not too bad but he likes to find his own postures rather than be told…
No incentive to dress him? I don't blame you. I almost bought that body during the release. (Wanted it for a floating head I had. I ended up deciding not to hybrid him.) And, why did they have to make the new releases (Caleb, Ethan, and Chloe) so temping? I guess I'll wait for at least 2 years and hope that nothing else tempts me, until then.
Wait a minute....did Supia CLONE that doll I bought?? I need an in person side by side of the two together, now. For science reasons.... Is this...gas lighting?? Edit: Opps, forgot that Caleb was already released. I just can't believe that I didn't know that he kind of looked like one of my other dolls until looking at him now. Hahaha.
Does anyone know what the neck circumference on a supia 65cm boy is. Supia has no measurements for him online!!
Did anyone get the 75 body? How is it? I'm also wondering how heavy is it, especially compared to other bjds. (I only have one 75, from another manufacturer. The experience has left me unsure if I would buy another sculpt that big in the future. And, I thought I read that some 75 dolls are WAY heavier than others.)
@Mahgiep a few posts back comments on the body, but doesn't mention the weight. I also like lighter weight bodies!
My Gideon is a bit over 7 pounds. My Ringdoll Zhao Yun is a bit over 6 pounds and will stand on his own on the scale. My latest big guy is Ringdoll Sun Ce at 6.75 pounds.
I really like Caleb too! He's so pretty. But I can't really find measurements for the different bodies or tell if the heads are the same for the 65 and the 75 bodies ><
I think the neck hole is wider but the heads look the same. I'll have to get the head and ask supia to have it be 12.5cm anyways bc I'd prefer to hybrid him.
As a side note, I asked Supia if you buy a doll or a head if you could choose any eyes and have them be the right size even if they're only listed as a bigger size. I.e. buying Caleb's head that takes 12/6mm eyes and adding on Peacock Brown eyes that are only listed as 14/7mm eyes. They said that I can, so do with that as you will :3
My Theo 75 arrived. The faceup is beautiful. I am definitely going to get another supia doll in the future.
It's been awhile since my Theo arrived, and I am posting again to show that he now has clothes and a wig. Though the wig didn't turn out quite how I envisioned.
Thanks Alewife. The style of the wig turned out how I imagined, I am just not happy with the front of it. I am planning on remaking it one day.
Oh, he's beautiful! And that outfit looks amazing as well. Dipping my toes in here as I have a lovely Raon on the 65 body and learned recently that the reason his one knee is a bit wonky is because he has two left thighs. (shoutout to my friend who figured that out for me) With a bit of sanding I think I can make it work but it keeps making me giggle. I love him anyway though. ♥ I do wonder if that means some other boy out there has two right thighs...
I have no doubt they would, as they were wonderful to order from, but with US tariffs I'm a bit hesitant to get anything sent from overseas again. I think I got very lucky that my boy squeaked in just before the cutoff. I think I will view it as an interesting quirk. He still poses wonderfully, and the only issue is that once his knee bends, it wont straighten again without pulling it way out of the socket. I'm honestly very impressed with his body's engineering. He can hold any pose I put him in and his balance is incredible. And of course he is beautiful, head to toe. I think I might have to blush his torso... link
Supia needs to stop making such cute boys. Sculpts like @Akai Okami has and the last two releases keep telling me to stop resisting. Hahaha. (seriously, I need to resist. Trying for a 75cm when I'm not ready is a terrible idea.)
@Akai Okami Most companies are paying the tariffs when they ship the package. I have only paid a couple. But it is good policy to check with the company before placing your order.
It might be worth asking Supia directly if they are doing anything different for US shipments. My boy arrived on August 4th with no tariff charge, but I might have just gotten lucky. Or there was no need to worry in the first place. Who knows. But Supia boys are indeed beautiful. I'm so happy to finally have my own!
Man I really like Elian, I could really see him in the smoky b makeup and with supia's blue eyes... their peach is also a perfect match for switch normal so perfect for body sharing :3 I'd throw him on a 68cm body though, I'm thinking dika doll's newer 68cm body would be perfect
Does anyone know the measurements for the 65cm boy body? Sorry if it’s been asked, I couldn’t find it, except for the neck.
I'm quite in love with Elian, but I probably won't be able to buy the whole doll this year, so I've been thinking if I could just get the head now, temporarily put it on something I already have at home and later get the body when I'll have more funds for that. So, my question is - would it be possible to put a Supia boy head on a smaller body (closer to 60cm) without it looking terrible?
I think it would depend on the shoulder width of the shorter body, as Supia boys have wide shoulders. But I think it could work, especially with a wig and clothes that can hide things if it otherwise looks a bit off. Just check neck and shoulder measurements and see if the body you have is close.
