@Alewife The Granado Lads looks good. It's a less muscly body than their others, which would suit his character better. (Plus, easier to find clothes.) I was hoping I could find a European dealer who does layaway for the body, though. Considering it takes a while to get both manufactured, I wanted to order at about the same time, but I can only afford to pay the head in full right now. I just noticed that Granado only sells their bodies on the 1st-3rd every month, so that also makes things a bit more complicated. But in general, are Granado good and stable posers?

 

@toveb they don't seem to have a European dealer, just Chinese and Malaysian (Dolk, Legend Doll, Macaron Doll). However, they do take a 3-payment layaway on their own site. I believe Legend Doll does layaway too.

I don't have the Lads body yet, but my other Granado guys are very good posers!

On a side note, I still haven't ordered Zion. You know how it is: life happens. But he was my lock screen for so long.
I'm wondering, should one avoid ordering resin during the summer due to the higher humidity?

 

I have ordered several Supia dolls in the summer with faceups and never had a problem.

I can't believe I only recently found Supia boys to be a thing >.<;; I've always had a weak spot for the Supia girl sculpts but (for some completely irrational reason lol) never paid any attention to the guys xD But now I fell head over heels for Jacob ♡

Supia boys don't seem to be that incredibly popular though...? It's not neccessarily easy to come by a picture spam of them... I'm loving everybody's contributions though even more! @KimC Your boy is ridiculously cute and good-looking! *-*

 

Awe, Zenka and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts Sasha of the Crows. When I saw the Jacob sculpt I fell head over heels for this boy. I knew he was going to be Maia's (Muse sculpt) soul mate and best friend. It turned out as I hoped and they are forever in each others

 

Well, I finally took the plunge and ordered my Zion head. Now to decided on that body...

It's funny, because everyone I show him to also says that! He seems to radiate something special.
I also decided to get a Telesthesia 68cm body for him, hoping that will work out. Always so scary when ordering from separate companies like that.

 

@toveb What don't you like about the Supia body? What kind of body do you want?

 

I have nothing against the boy body from Supia per se, but I understood it didn't hold poses well and was recommended to get a different one instead. I even ordered jointed hands to go with this one.

 

You might watch Art-Bimong. He's working on an updated male body and the classic normal skin matches Supia's normal skin well

 

That would be a dream, but sooo expensive for this size.

 

I need to get my Supia boy out and see how he poses.

 

I've done some posing with my Zenka (Jacob) for photos but haven't really posed him in any sitting or active positions yet. What I have found is he needed a good sueding before I could get him to pose properly. I think it has to do with the weight of his limbs or maybe his stringing was too loose. Hopefully your boy will pose great but in case he doesn't the sueding has worked for me

 

LOL, maybe I was wrong about the original bodies! I would love to hear more, once you get time to pose him.
I do like how they are sculpted, so if it wasn't for the reviews I had read, I would definitely have bought a complete doll instead.

Does anyone have pictures of supiadoll jacob (or supiadoll boys in general) in different size eyes to compare?

Hey ya'll, I have a question about Jacob. Does he have a separate teeth part? Are his teeth adjustable? Or is it all sculpted? Wondering if you could mod him to sharky teeth.

mosaicwolf, yes. I just examined Jacob's teeth and they are sculpted. Sounds like an interesting idea doing shark teeth. If you decide to do it please post pictures, I'd love to see how he turns out.

Hello! For a long time I've been in love with Supia Zion, but I think I'd prefer him on a smaller body so he could fit better with some of my other SD dolls.
So, I have a question for Zion owners: is his head big? Do you think he would look okay on a ~62cm body?

 

I don't have Zion but I have both Hayil and Jacob and imho the 65cm supia body is the absolute shortest they can handle and 70cm might actually be better. Unless Zion is significantly smaller, I'm going to go with "no". Also the neck size is 11cm which is pretty hard to find on a body that size, even if you were ok with extreme bobblehead. Sorry for the bad news.

 

I was going to put my Zion head on a Telesthesia 68 cm body, but first of all the s-hook was too large and then the elastic too thick to get through the very narrow slit in the Supiadoll head.



I have now ordered a Supiadoll body. Sigh.

 

But I'm kind of happy with his face-up. I think his name is Emil.

 

@toveb A cheaper option would be to enlarge the opening with a dremel tool. I've done that before with one my heads that also had a rather small slot for the S hook.

Besides, I have an idea for another character that could use the Telesthesia body. I just need to find a good resin match and neck size for that.

Hi!

I'm struggling a bit finding shoes for my Jacob. I found a pair of boots that I like that say the sizing for the uncle size should be for feet smaller than 8.5x3.5 which is EXACTLY my supia boy's size. The large uncle is meant to fit under10.4 cm. If I order the larger size, is it likely to look like clown shoes?

I keep reading that supia boy's have giant legs and feet. Do I order the large uncle size to be safe?

 

Hello everyone! Im thinking of getting a Jacob head and hybriding him so I can make him taller. Anyone know his neck circumference? I can't find any measurements on his listing.

 

I have a jacob. If you show me exactly what you want to be measured, I will do my best!

 

That was so fast! Thank you! Here is what I need. I'm not sure how exactly the neck circumference is usually measured, but this should at least give me a good idea.

 

It might be easier to measure the neck of the Supia body. How tall were you thinking of? I have a spare Jacob head that I could try on another body.

 

Somewhere between 70 to 75 cm. Probably 70 to 72. I think any bigger and his proportions might look a little odd.

@lividdarkangel, Oops! I'm a day late! Here's Jacob on a Doll Family H 68cm body.


I was going to put him on my 70cm Ringdoll body but the ring is too large to fit through his neck hole and I don't have time to restring the body. I held it up and it looked too small with the body. If you want a taller body, I would recommend one that is thinner,

 

@nancy_schroeder_ca Oh no worries! I'm just really grateful for the pic and the thoughts on the bigger body. Sadly after this I just don't think Jacob is gonna work for my character. I need him to be bigger and absolutely shredded. Hopefully I can find a face I like just as much as Jacob. Thank you so much for the info! I really appreciate it.

 

How shredded is shredded? The Supia male body is pretty muscular and has really nice leg and ab development. If you're looking for Hulk or Superman vibes, definitely not it, but regular male swimmer or athlete? Totally.

I had watched a lot of unboxing videos to check out what different bodies looked like, and I thought the detailing on these was just phenomenal. I wish mine posed better, but I'm going to suede it and hope that fixes the issue.

 

I guess I'm just not fond of the slender look for male bodies. I prefer muscular to athletic. The Supia body is more athletic, and also too small for what I'm looking for. I did find a sculpt I think will work for him though.

 

Hello! I hope someone is around to help me out.
I need to restring my Supiadoll boy's body, but I am unsure how the stringing goes.
Do I use only one string from the arms and legs respectively? Or should I bring up both loops from the legs?

Back story: the body was incredibly tightly strung when I got it and there was a slight mishap when trying to put the head on, so I lost grip of the elastic and it all went back down into the body. I do remember it being a very tight fit through the neckhole, which is why I'm unsure of how much elastic I should try to pull through.

 

As far as I remember stringing my boy, it is the usual set up: one shorter loop of elastic connects the arms through the torso/ shoulder joint holes, and one long elastic is folded up into two equally long loops. Then each loop hooks onto one foot and is pulled up through one leg, then through the body and the head hole to be secured with the S-hook. So two loops end up on the S-hook in the head. (Of course, if you work from the head down, take the reverse route.) Sorry I have no links handy, but the Customization & Maintenance forum in the workshop section has tutorials available, and you can find tuts galore on You Tube as well.

 

Thank you! That confirms how I thought it was done. The problem I had when attaching the head was that the s-hook and the elastic was too big to fit through the hole in the head, and somehow my hold slipped...yikes!
