(Link to the list of Wiishu's other DoA stories.) Poor Wiishu had a terrible day. We'd been to a convention, got home late, and the following morning newly anointed Garden Elf got a rude wakeup.
I should have named Wiishu "Earnest". Pook loves his wigs. (Could care less about clothes) He got a bright red curly one on the way to MisCon (Wiishu got his Naruto wig). I've got bunches of fur samples that are the perfect size for Pooki-wigs, so he'll have all sorts of crazy things. This one so overwhelmed him, I trimmed the sides and he ended up with this great mohawk! Thanks, everyone! Glad you're enjoying!
How great you got these transferred! Poor Wiishu. I just love the alternate face plate with the worried expression. Maybe he'll start studying botany now?
Total serendipity! He slid down as I took the pick. I love the way the Pookster is hugging him. When I was going through the photos, it was so obvious that he wasn't wanting his "pitchur tookted. " What did we do before he came along? I can't imagine how we managed! I love love love seeing the garden in a whole new way. I'm actually trying to dry the seed pods for a little crown for him. the wonders of photoshop (or in my case, Paint Shop Pro!) When I got to that photo, of which I'd only taken one, I was a bit dismayed to realize that his rarely-seen-in-photos little smile was right there, front and center: A little warp brush was quicker than retaking with different lighting. It is cute, isn't it? I wonder if there's a Shiwoo SP looking for a home... It would be fun to try and reproduce it. I'm never going to need another doll...just keep making variants for Wiishu! I think he was on the internet all day, making sure I didn't lie to him.
By golly, he's just too danged cute! Been loving the pics of him on the realistic thread too! Wiishu is just SUCH a dollface! (Pun intended..?) Hope the con went well!
Thanks, darlin'! I do not know what it is about his face, whether it's the Shiwoo sculpt or the faceup...or a combo of both. Maybe all dolls are the same, but I don't feel any of my others "shifting" the same way. Maybe it's because I do use flash a lot, which give sharper shadows, but it's true in the outside shots as well. The light catches his face slightly differently and the expression changes. I usually take lots of pics from slightly different angles, with different exposures, any of which could be useable, but when I'm going through the shoot to put together the story, certain ones just "talk" and suggest the next frame. It's totally fascinating to me. I think it's because he's got that tiny smile that only shows at certain angles, and the little up-at-the-center eyebrows. The expression is just ambiguous to go any direction depending on light and associated body language. Pook, OTOH, has very little expression in his face and his actions are just roly-poly goofy. Much of what makes him funny is Wiishu's reactions in a frame. He misses Sunny! We've got to get them together again, when we're both home at the same time! Let them do a whole story together.
I don't remember seeing this story before! (Then again, I'm sleep-deprived a lot of the time this semester...) Poor Wiishu! He was actually ASKING for sticky! You know he's desperate when he wants sticky!
