Hi guys, I've got a question for those who have worked with SS Firm before. As you probably know, SS is quite brittle and prone to cracks and other damage. Here's the thing: I have to widen the shafts of my 45cm prototype's arms and legs and I'm not quite sure how to do this. Using a drill will cause significant damage, but using a dremel is impossible, because you can't reach that far. Does any of you know how to deal with this, without damaging anything?
When I've had to do this in the past, I rolled a strip of sandpaper around something the correct size (a pen, a paintbrush, a skewer, etc), and sanded by rotating the sandpaper-stick around inside the shafts. I'm working on tiny dolls (and with DAS clay) though, so this might not work for you, or might take an unreasonable length of time. But it would be an easy thing to test, and unlikely to do any lasting damage if it doesn't work. Just be careful to apply pressure as evenly as possible so you don't unbalance the shafts.
