Sugarble Limiteds discussion part 1

I think they just have a bunch of overstocked items and just grab some.

 

More than likely. It just seems so weirdly random to get something that has zero possibility of being used for the doll they send out.

I was on the Sugarable site the other day and I'm oddly relieved that the only naga bodies they had left wouldn't work for anything I've got in the works. I'd straight up love it if they decided to do an MSD or SD naga. I'm always impressed all over again with the engineering when I take Nassano out and play with him. One of my local doll friends is heavily in lust with him and totally steals him away when I bring him to meets. I'd told her about the final sale (she didn't know) but she's in the process of trying to buy her grail and had to make the horrible choice of grail or last chance at a discontinued doll from the company.

 

@Kittzel -- adorable! Pretty funny with the pink sneaker! Ah, well... I guess you can't be too picky about free gifts, but that was just too amusing!

I don't know for sure, but Sugarble's default blushing was usually metallic paint--it looks like it's brushed on so it goes between the scales, and is wiped off the tops of the scales... Not sure what paint they use. Probably a metallic acrylic?

 

@Epicari She's the No.4R sculpt (Aiko, Mori, Darlene), but I did the faceup myself.

@Iron_Dog Thanks, they're 12mm Oscar Doll eyes (don't know the color name, but they're pure red crystal).

I picked up my order from customs and I also got sent shoes as a freebie so it seems they want to clear everything out! My upper body came with a random face plate, I was wondering if anyone knew which number it is? (Doesn't have the back piece with the number on ^^)

 

I got my gray Adrian and emerald naga tail plus some wigs and a pair of pants. I guess that was a large order for the sale because I got a bunch of gifts! Two pairs of sneakers, some clothes and best of all, a 1S head with three tongue/teeth options! Also a torso, a set of hands, a right arm, a left lower leg and a right foot! I'm already thinking about how to make a right arm! The lower leg and foot will be good for testing colors of paint!

 

@Epicari I would wager that's a 6R faceplate?

Hello!! I am joining here, I've Just received my naga girl and I get a pair of boots and a pair of torsos and a pair of right hands, well no sure what to do with them!

 

Sounds like Sugarble is just randomly gifting buyers with spare parts. They used to give out gifts even before they were cleaning out their place of old parts!

They are freebies, so you can do whatever you wish with them. Give them to someone, mod them, sell them, practice painting on them, keep them and do nothing... Whatever you feel like!

 

I can't believe there was a second-chance sale on the naga tails and I missed it because I haven't followed things very closely! XD Bad luck for me. But congrats for those who were able to snag what they wanted!

Chucking my oar in here to keep updated. I really hope the nagas return some day!

 

I having a bit of problem with the arms on my naga. Whenever I try to pose them, the elbows go out of joint and twist round like this-

I've tried restringing but that hasn't helped. I've also tried putting a bit of aluminum wire in the arms but that's not done a lot (I think I need to use a bit of thicker wire ^^). So i'm wondering if this happens with anyone else's doll and if anyone has found a way to prevent this issue?

 

Could they have swapped the upper arm parts when they strung her? I have had companies do that and it results in very strange posing!

 

My naga-boy's elbow joints will pop out at certain angles. They aren't the most sophisticated joints. I think that's one reason why they are re-designing everything???

 

My girl's elbows also pop out and twist all the time. I think it's just another quirk of the weird body engineering. On the plus side, it allows for decent posing as long as you don't mind the look of it or dress them in long sleeves.

Hey guys, does any one have any owner pictures of the Eileen sculpt?

 

Sugarble just announced they're going to be releasing a new line of tinies that are "30cm with chubby features". Alice looks like a cutie and still has that same charm as their old heads so I'm pretty excited. Especially since they're going to be discounted the first little bit too.

I was always hesitant with their old line because of their unique build, and kind of regretted never committing and buying a Helena.

A while after getting my naga girl I realized having a naga wasn't quite how I had imagined. They look real cool but they wasn't my cup of tea after all. So she got rehomed It was also a little bit too much for me to deal with her tail because of my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome diagnosis. I don't have a whole lot of energy to deal with dolls that are either complicated or have too many parts.

Now I regret not ordering from them many years ago when it were still long until they discontinued all their sculpts. I regret not getting Meyo. So I'm really hoping they will continue to do fantasy sculpts. I really loved them!

I'm so glad to see Sugarble finally back! Alice is a cutie, and I'm really curious about her outfit; it looks like my kind of colors from that little sneak peek). Personally, I'm hoping they do bring back the same slim "mature tiny" style... I love the aesthetic of my Sumire (Aiko on the old renewed Sugarsleek body), but the engineering of her legs is just SO strange. If they have the same aesthetic with joints that don't spontaneously dislocate and spin around like an exorcism scene in a horror movie, I might consider getting her a friend... or maybe just a new body.

 

Did anybody order Alice? Admittedly I didn't care for the look once the full doll was revealed. I'm only into mature tinies. Plus it doesn't sound promising for bringing back the nagas! Oh how I wish I'd had the cash during the sugarsleek goodbye sale! :'D

 

Yeah, not my tastes either... but they've got several more empty sections on their site, so hopefully more lines will surface in the future.

 

The body is cute but I am not sure about this head. Interesting but not enough to push to the top of the wish list.

 

I'm still trying to get my emerald naga boy together (yeah... it takes me a LONG time)... So no new Sugarbles for me (maybe never, actually---I have 2 already, and that's a lot considering the rest of my doll hoard). I'm happy when I see dolls that don't make me throw money at them.

 

Ah hah! I always keep an eye out for tiny bodies with nice slim aesthetics like the Sugarsleeks because Sumire's legs frustrate me so much... And I just noticed the Dollzone B27-004 body. Too bad I can't afford any doll purchases right now, because it looks like it would fit really nicely (neck is listed as 4.8cm compared to the Sugarsleek's 4.7cm). Has anyone tried hybridizing a Sugarble head onto another body?

 

I have what I just discovered after a couple of years of owning her is a Christine, I always thought she was a Juniper, but just now looking through their old site I came across Christine and for sure that is her because mine even has the same outfit and shoes!

I actually find my girl is a pretty good poser, but she's not on the sugarsleek legs, she has hooves. I have her proper legs and feet so maybe I'll try them sometime and see what you mean.
I love the sugarsleek bodies though, it's so beautiful I really hope someday they will bring them back because they are just so sweet. I also hope one day I can find a fullset Juniper so I can have her and Christine together.

Sometimes Sugarble gives several names to the same sculpt (I think according to the faceup?)... The basic heads have numbers. At least that's what they have done for all the original heads. Not sure if they will change that for their re-booted series of dolls.

For instance, on my Naga, I have a Patrick (faceup and sculpt), but the head is a No. 2-R, and he shares that with Rudy and Chloe (different faceups).

I hope Sugarble don't continue to do that with their latest dolls--it's very confusing!

 

@april I think they are doing it with their latest sculpts! Both Yeriel and Elisha are labelled as NO.2 so I think they're continuing to reuse sculpts for new face-ups and outfits.

 

What I can see of her arms and fingers look a little bit chunkier than my Sumire... maybe you have the first run sugarsleek body and that's why her posing is better? I know the renewal body had a bigger range in the elbows and knees but maybe the first body was more stable.

 

You may be right, she could very well be on the older body.

 

It may be futile, but I’ve emailed practically begging for an opportunity to buy the naga parts again. They’re probably tired of hearing about it, but I’m just gutted that the sugarsleek goodbye sale happened at a bad time for me! The demand for nagas is so high, and supply so low, I doubt I’ll find one on the marketplace before it’s snapped up.
If only anybody else did a naga tail so well!

 

The nagas are very well engineered and if you have a little patience, you can get them to "stand" on their tails unsupported. I'm always a little puzzled when a company stops making a popular doll when the demand for them is still going strong.

 

Yeah, I’m puzzled about that too. It looks like the demand is there to me, I see WTB posts for sugarble nagas a lot. I don’t think they’d have a shortage of orders if they opened up an ordering period for them.

The design is what draws me especially; there’s a few other nagas out there, but their tails are much too short! I love that the Sugarble one is a good size. It’s still on the short side for what I’d consider “realistic” (ha), but it’s long enough to still look right.

 

When I stretch Nassano out, he's roughly 40cm long from the top of his head to tail tip. I love that they numbered the tail sections so should you unstring them, putting them back together is not the nightmare it could be.

I have a friend who missed out on the final sale (darn that RL responsibility stuff) and she really regrets not being able to have purchased one. She always asks my to bring my boy to meets and when I do, I don't see him for the whole meet because she has him *laughs*.

I think if they opened an order period even just once a year for the nagas, they'd get a ton of orders. Even if they only offered the basic/standard colours of WS/NY/NP, I'm sure they'd have their hands full.

 

For sure, I know I’d be ordering. I feel like they’re more likely to do it if plenty of people email, but it’s coming up to two years since their discontinuation so I’m not sure how often they get asked about it any more.

 

I figure they discontinued the tails because they stopped making the body it was designed to fit... Hopefully in the future they can modify the waist part to fit the new body? Or maybe it would take too much overhaul to make the tail engineering work without that weird hip configuration the sugarsleeks had.

 

I'm not a sculptor but I would think it wouldn't be too tough to modify that body/tail connector piece to work with the re-designed body. But I'm probably talking out of my hat here.

 

Nah, I agree! It wouldn’t be too hard to make work, and I would be happy to put in the time to mod stuff. They have sold the tails individually before, so I don’t think they’re too worried about them not also having torsos with them.

An unsurprising response, but disappointing all the same.

 

Aww, Sugarble has put out the sad news that they're closing the business. That's also quite disappointing for those of us who were hoping that they might bring back the naga tails ):

 

I wonder what it means for anybody who ordered the shortlived new dolls. Hopefully those orders are fulfilled with no troubles.

 

I was wondering that as well, i'm assuming they still intend to fulfil remaining orders?

 

Aww, man. That really sucks. I'd brought my naga boy to a doll meet this Sunday past and I basically barely saw him for the entire meet because he was being passed around so much (I'm the only one in my local group who owns one) and one of my doll friends adores him so she cuddled him for a good portion of the meet.

Yet another of my dolls ends up on the company closed/vanished list *sigh*. I swear, 3/4's of my collection is made up of limited/discontinued sculpts or defunct companies.

 

It was at least nice that they announced the closing. So many companies just disappear..

That is sad... I'd always hoped they'd bring some version of the nagas back, too. I would have loved to buy a little emerald-tailed girl for my god-daughter, since she likes my black and white pair so much.

 

I must admit that I wonder if they’d still be closing had they brought the tails back. There’s so much interest in them.

But the announcement is appreciated. At least they’ve closed sales ahead of time too, which will probably help their workload.

Just keep your eyes out for people selling naga tails... they DO come up now and then. And maybe someone else will buy the molds and make dolls?

 

Wow, I'm really surprised to hear they're closing so soon after starting a new line (and I had the impression there were plans for more sizes and sculpts). Must be some kind of emergency for it to be so short-notice.

Hello, I hope there are still some of you out there with Surgarble knowledge to share. A friend of mine gave me a Sugarble Sugarsleek glamour body. I did some research today and found body measurements and I hot glued the body today to help with the legs being so kicky but my next task is to get this girl a head and some clothes. I thiiiink the resin is Normal pink but the body seems to have yellowed but if it has it yellowed evenly. Any advice on companies that have good resin matches and places where I can find clothes that will be compatible? Any advice would be most appreciated

 

Sorry, i havent had time to take newer photos of my girl.
Personally found that some pullip dresses fit, and some Azone dress fit. Sadly pants will not fit due to having big butt.

but Moxie Girl clothes do work also. I have a pair of pjs that fit like a dream for my girl.

 

It is so long since I posted on this thread. I took my little Naga boys out of the cabinet today and took some photos. I can't believe I got them over 5 years ago.

 

They're beautiful! I'm sad this company closed before I found them. It looms like they did amazing work.

I never take any photos but I have one of the Sugarble heads on a Doll Chateau body. Shes like a hobbit baby

 

I waited too long to buy the purple naga tail but I did get a green one when they were selling the last parts. I also got grey upper body parts! I really need to get her assembled!
