Sueding with moleskin

Jan 18, 2005

    1. I have been meaning to post about this for a while, to see if someone has done it.

      But I was bored over break, and had some random sticky back moleskin lying around, and I figured what the heck and "sueded" Salim's joints.

      The result was fantastic. I did her shoulders, hips, knees and ankles, and I now have an old body MSD who can sit on her own on any surface, hold legs extended while sitting on an edge and hold her arms up fairly decently (I think I need to tighten her arm string....)

      If anyone is interested I can take pictures. I felt like sharing because I've heard many members are a bit worried about super gluing leather in their dolls joints. The moleskin has a peel and stick back, so removal requires minimal picking and a bath. :grin: It's also holding her wig on too. I love this stuff!

    2. I'd love to see some pictures :D

    8. Yes, please post pictures. Tinuviel has a bit of a case of crazy legs, and I'd like to try something les drastic that restringing to fix it.

    10. After having Kuro suaded with this method for about a month, I'm noticing that the... gripping action of the moleskin has totally gone, now it seems to act to lubricate the joints instead of hold them in position. I'm going to be removing it and cleaning the joints (yay for Mr. Clean sponges!) as soon as I have a spare moment, because it's become really annying to pose him. ^^;
