Hi! This is Sharonion. I’m planning to open for Faceup Commissions for November and December 2023. If you are interested in my work, please email your Commission Form to [email protected] during Oct 28, 2023 00:00 AM to Oct 31, 2023 00:00 AM, EST, if you’re interested in commissioning me.

At this time, I will accept international commissions. For this general commission period Nov, 2023, I only do artist choice. Please see newest the examples below about what's within and what is without scope. Please make sure you scroll all the way down to the most recent examples. I've marked up many 2021 pictures as "ARCHIVE" because they're old.

I'll be in a trip during 11/23/23 to 12/01/23. During this time I'll be slow on responding emails. After that I'll be catching up. I strongly recommend you to leave me email if you have questions. as I don't frequently check my DOA account and DMs.

I also strongly recommend you to go over my Instagram posts, including pictures and REEL, to have a better feeling how the faceup actually look like. All my previous work are posted. Note that the ways I performed faceups on my dolls (e.g. line work, color palette) are a little jumpy as I explored around. The style that I perform on commissions this time will be closed to the examples I marked as "2023 Nov Commission Examples", but may have slight difference.

COMMISSION FORM
Each Commission Form applies to one head. If you have multiple heads, please do it separately.
please only use text descriptions (except for #4), make it simple and clear.
All * questions must be answered.

1. Confirm that you have read Scope, Important Notes, Price and Process, and you’re legit doll collector (put “ I confirm” if you have read them, and you’re a legit doll player)*
2. Your name as shown on the package if your doll is selected, country and zip code*
3. Doll company, official name, size, skin color, year (e.g. SOOM, Ender, ID75, Normal, 2023)*
4. Picture(s) of the doll you want to commission (at least 1 photo to show current condition. Ok if with faceup)*
5. Simply describe condition (e.g. good, minor yellowing). Any modification /uneven yellowing / uneven stain at faceup area? Please describe if these conditions apply*
6. Gender of faceup (male or female. N.A. if not specific), Characters, or expression (e.g. gentle, angry, please make it simple and straight forward), List 2 items you don’t want (e.g. black eyebrows, long lower eye lashes)*
7. Need faceup removal?*
8. Need eye lashes? (please read Material #2)*
9. Facial textures? Light, mid or strong?*
10. Accessories? Please describe and how many (e.g. teeth, 3 total)*
11. Social media link or feedback link.

SCOPE
​

1. Nov 2023 open commission is artist choice only. With your definition of gender, characteristics, 2 items you don’t want. Please look at the example picture to see my recent style. Please refer to Out of Scope example pictures to see style I won't perform.

2. Only 1/4 (MSD) and larger.

3. Only Resin BJDs.

4. I don’t work on dolls with epoxy modifications, stains or uneven yellowing at faceup area.

5. I do not accept eyelashes from customers. Since the way I attach lashes will break them.

6. I do not remove faceup with acrylic mediums sealing (e.g. Liquilex Matte, Golden 3520). Please clean up the faceup by yourself.

7. I do not perform faceup outside of my style, for Nov 2023 commission period specifically, not outside of the examples I provided in the post. Customized faceup does not count into this commission period, but you can check with me regarding my availability through email.

8. Default faceup does not include facial textures.

IMPORTANT NOTES & STATEMENTS
​

1. NO RECAST DOLL. Legit dolls only. Please do not commission me if you’re recast doll collector or mixture of legit and recast collector.

2. As you can see the way I perform faceups is changing from one to another. The samples I showed in the pictures will be similar to what I’m going to perform, with possible slight changes, and you don’t get unexpected face tattoos, scars and sparkling.

3. If you want to do customized faceups, it won’t be available during this opening commission period. Please email me the details and I’ll check the availability.

4. If you need to attach eyelashes, please see Material #2.

5. Commission period: Nov. 2023 and Dec. 2023. All works will be done before 2024.

6. U.S. customers, please ship within 7 days after your doll is selected. International customers, please make sure your package will arrive before Thanksgiving (11/23/2023). If your head is selected and have difficulties making package arriving by 11/23/2023, please let me know.

7. If you decide to cancel the commission after 80-90% progress pictures are provided. Only 50% will be refunded. The faceups will be removed and the doll will be returned to customer with customer covers shipping.

8. I can only confirm the environment I do faceup is clean, dry, and the coating is strong enough that you can not wipe out the faceup within normal usage, and the faceup is in perfect condition before shipping back to you. Please understand that resin material, temperature change, moisture change, and the frequency that you touch your doll will cause faceup damage such as peeling off and cracking. The chance is small and it usually won’t happen in short, but any afterward damage happened, I won’t be able to repair.

9. Please understand that hidden defects can be found after faceup is removed (e.g. stains, cracking). I will inform you if I find something. If the defect would affect faceup, head will be returned and customer is responsible for shipping.

10. It is your choice to insure your own package. Please take care of your own baby. I’m not responsible for package loss.

 

PRICES
​

1. Nov 2023 general artist choice faceup - $85

2. Accessories: first one free, starting from 2nd, $10 each. Note: I do not do horns.

3. Adding textures: $10

4. Faceup removal: $20 for basic oil based and water based faceups (e.g. MSC B514).

5. Partial faceup removal: varies, up to $20.

6. Eye lashes: $8

7. Face mask: $1

8. If you wish to do specific faceup with customized details, or completely free style, it won’t be available for this faceup commission period. Please check with me by email with your detailed descriptions.

 

PROCESS​

1. Read Important Notes & Statements, Scope, Price, Process. Email me the commission form. You can simply type in without downloading my PDF/picture of commission form. Provide all info required in form. Subject of email : You name (same as the name on you mail package if you’re selected) + doll company + doll official name (example: Sara Volks Williams). One doll, one email.

2. If I decide to take your commission I will respond by Nov 2nd. Otherwise I may not be able to respond every form that I decide to drop.

3. Please pack carefully and ship your complete head (both facial part and cap part). Make sure head is clean. If the head is brand new, please make sure it is completely clean with no remaining powder from manufacturer. Please include face mask if you need eyelashes, or you can purchase from me.

4. Ship within 7 days if you ship from the U.S. Make sure package arrive before 11/23/2023 if you ship from outside U.S.

5. I will let you know once the doll arrives.

6. Please make 50% or full payment, provide your full address. If there’s a chance you will change your address, I would recommend you do 50% payment and pay the remaining 50% when your doll is ready to go home.

7. Faceup starts. I will provide you pictures and details at around 80%-90% completion. At this point you can decide if you want to deepen the colors or add other small things within artist choice faceup scope (moles and sparkling is ok).

8. If there’s remaining payment, please pay the rest. If you have additional request, such as change your mind about attaching eyelashes, please let me know.

9. I will pack your doll and take pictures for you. I would prefer you to create your own label and email me. But I can also create the label for you at Pirate Ship.

MATERIAL​

1. MSC UV cut B-523; PanPastel, Sennelier & Rembrandt pastels; Vallejo acrylic colors; Kuretake water colors; Tamiya Color X-22 CLEAR acrylic paint. Mr Color thinner (for all skin colors faceup removal); Winsor Newton Brush Cleaner & Restorer (only for white and normal skin color faceup removal).

2. Glue that I use for attaching eyelashes will be Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue. This glue is strong but will melt if soak in water for long time. Please do not leave water at glued area. If you accidentally leave water at glue and the glue can turn to white color, please gently remove the water, set the head undisturbed. As it gets dried the glue will be firm again and white color will vanish.


Faceup Caring

About cleaning
Please try not to use magic sponge or alcohol to clean the surface. Gently wipe the surface with damp napkin.

Regarding cracking due to temperature and moisture changes
If you see cracking on the clear spray, please remove the faceup as soon as possible. I believe this does not happen quite often while your dolls are most of time indoors. However, cracking might happen due to temperature and humidity changes. There will be chances cracking extend into the resin material and cause damage.
