Clothing Steampunk/Neo-Victorian

I don't know if Syril counts, but for what it's worth, his right eye is pretty steampunk-ish.



Can't really tell, but it's a gear.

For a project for class I made a 1/3 scale steampunk airship set and props. So of course, I had to make some costumes for my dolls as well. Of course, turns out everyone else just photoshopped their futuristic sets -__-







And the set, which was really fun to make. I might have to do another one sometime.

I really love the whole Steampunk thing - how there's this mix of old, Victorian partnered with futuristic sci-fi. Any dolls dressed in that theme of clothing? I really love the mix of old and new!

Oh, I got something steampunk-y for Derek awhile ago. It's not really Victorian, but it's kinda steampunk. Ish.

i have to order her a pocket watch .. but mostly i was trying to avoid the sterotypical version of steampunk

I wanted Ryuichi to have at least one steampunk outfit, so I started working on this one for him. It still has a long way to go, but he'll have something cool to wear by the time Tohma comes home! Tohma will be steampunk when he's not dressing like a rock star.





And hai, those lanterns really DO light up!

The Tonner boy clothes pretty much fit Volk Msd and Sdc bodies. The things that don't fit it are shoes and socks .

Took my Soony, Eilonwy, to the Steampunk World's Faire the other week. I put her in as close to a Steampunk outfit as I could get and added a few little items I bought at the faire.

Hi doll enthusiasts!

I was wondering if anybody wants to share pictures of their favorite steampunk themed BJDs. I'm getting one of those adorable tiny delf centaurs from Luts, and I'm thinking I want her to be a steampunk themed centaur.

Also, if you are a Steampunk enthusiast and make items for your doll: Where do you get your supplies?

I searched for other steampunk themed threads and there was one half a month ago. I thought that perhaps people would have new outfits or dolls to post in that time period, so I thought I'd start this thread. If I was wrong in doing so, I sincerely apologize.

 

Hey there RenitaNeko, looks like we're stirring up the Steampunk thread once again...always a good thing if you ask me!
In fact, I was just downloading new photos I took after redressing my steampunk clan. I got a blouse & a boy's outfit from MyBayer on ebay & mixed things around to finish new looks for two of my girls & I really like the results. Costume wise, my clan wears a combination of things I've made & pieces & parts from several Dollheart outfits. For nifty odds & ends to accessorize, I keep an eye out at the craft stores.

Here are the girls in their new blouses, Sayomi & Charity...


Sayomi is wearing the vest from the pant suit & a different new blouse with Dollheart Karina's skirts & a hat I made.
The blouse that came with the pantsuit is just what Charity needed to pull her outfit together. She's wearing a vest that I made & an Apple Avenue leather coat plus a corset & skirt made by other folks. Her big waist pouch was once a pocket watch case I'd kept.
Sayomi's pocket watch came from Ebay, her big "leather" duffle bag arrived with another doll this summer & her leather belt & metal box were craft store finds.

Aodfin Machonna is the newest member of the Wolff clan. He just arrived a couple weeks ago.


He's wearing parts of a Dollheart outfit & a pair of goggles I made after looking at a tutorial here on DOA. Being the newest member, his outfit still needs some work. But now that I've gotten the ladies settled I'll be on the lookout for things to finish his look next.

Long time, no see SteamPunk fans!!
Well, the Wolff clan did some more growing this year. Which meant time for NEW pictures!!
First, Ianthe Thomas joined the family. And it took all year for her character to percolate thru my head...

Good thing she fits into some of the first clothes I made for my first BJD! ;0
While looking for a body for her head, I ended up with a second Elfdoll Soah...now how did that happen?!? Anyway, now it seems Ezra Larkin has twin Soah sisters, Michiko & Naomi Serena who are best of friends with Ianthe...




Some might think that was enough for one year...but then LLT announced Blue Magpie, their new head sculpt & I fell head over heels for her. She joined the clan by way of becoming Ailionora Edana, the daughter of Aodhfin Machonna & Charity Mayumi, on a DT elf body. Here they are together at the Halloween meetup in KS..

Finally, here's the group photo for this winter!


Once again one might think that were enough. Except I just found a boy, & a head in the winter events so there will be two new boys joining the Wolff clan this spring!

I guess I need to add Llywellyn to this thread. This is one sad Steampunk sky-pirate because his feet are on the ground. He is ready to fly!

Tohma and I were recently in the Sewing Project: Steampunk round, and this vest is what I made him. It was a bit difficult since I had no idea of what I wanted and no pattern, but I'm pretty proud of how it came out!







Since he's Steampunk when he's not being a rock star and music company president, he'll be making more appearances on this thread as his Steampunk wardrobe grows.

I was checking my oldest watched threads today. In this one, along with broken photo links there's still info & photos to enjoy.
It was fun to reread the bits about my new arrivals joining my steampunk clan.
It's been 8 years now since my Wolff clan started & it's still fun adding new touches, more Victorian, less gear oriented embellishments to my fantasy/victoriana alternate timeline dolls.
