St. Louis BJD Con November 17, 2012

Aug 2, 2012

    1. We have launched a Kickstarter to help fund our awesome upcoming event: A St. Louis BJD Convention in the very heart of the United States!

      www.kickstarter.com/projects/jenrpa/st-louis-bjd-convention

      Our Kickstarter is officially LIVE!!

If you are interested in supporting a midwestern BJD convention, click the link and pledge a donation now! If you donate, we have awesome gifts to offer our supporters.

If you are interested in attending our convention on November 17th, here's your opportunity to pre-register! Here's a note: The Kickstarter Campaign is how we're planning to handle pre-registration and it is possible that there won't be regular memberships available after the end of the Kickstarter if we make our goal. So if you want to register, now is the time!

Please feel free to share our website and kickstarter link with everyone!

    2. For those that are interested in the convention, the Kickstarter itself will only run through August - it's an all or nothing donation project (to "kick start" the funding, as it were), so if you're interested in coming, please donate in August!

The cool thing about Kickstarter is that even if you can't make it to the convention, you can get awesome rewards for helping us out! These include things such as t-shirts, dolly sleeping bags, handmade jewelry, artwork... we even have a couple of tiiiiny steampunk dollies up as a reward!

If we don't make the funding for the project through Kickstarter, nothing is ever charged - but if the Kickstarter does go through, you'll get an email announcing successful funding and how to pay through Amazon (this would happen on September 1st). So if you get paid at the end of the month, it works out really well :)

If you have any questions about the Kickstarter process, feel free to ask! And if you're interested in having a midwest BJD convention, please spread the word! By sharing you could help us make our goal! :D

    3. Hi everyone!

The Kickstarter ends on the 31st, so this is the last weekend to pre-register through the Kickstarter - come help us make our goal! :D The Kickstarter also has some really great doll related rewards, so even if you can't make it this year you can get some nifty stuff for helping us out, and help make the convention bigger and better for future years!

As a reminder, if we don't make the goal on Kickstarter, we will be sad, but the convention is still definitely a go! We will contact backers with how to make their payment after the Kickstarter ends :)

We hope to see you there!

    4. Here's a new message from the committee - reminder, only two days left before the Kickstarter ends!

      Play with us all weekend!

The St. Louis BJD Convention is a three-day EVENT!

Click here to pre-register for the convention!

On Friday, November 16th, get settled into our official hotel and then come out for our official Meet-n-Greet Happy Hour! Bring your dolls and meet our guests and socialize with the rest of the members. This event is exclusive to members!

On Saturday, November 17th, take the shuttle from our official hotel to our Programming Site! Saturday is devoted to programming that includes hands-on workshops, contests, lecture/demos, discussion panels, book signings, the dealer's room, and catered meals including our awards banquet. After the banquet, take the free shuttle back to your room at our official hotel.

      But wait, there's more!
Sunday morning it's time to pack up your hotel room, but be sure to meet us for the exclusive Brunch event! We will be hosting a special Dolly Brunch event showcasing one of St. Louis's finest locations.
The Friday and Sunday events are exclusively available to the members of the convention. You must be a member to attend these events with our guests!

      Membership Information:
Memberships are available at the pre-registration rate of $75 exclusively though our fundraiser on Kickstarter. After the Kickstarter closes, memberships will be available for a higher rate. [(a rate of $100 through September 30th, and $150 thereafter, I think.)]

      Exclusive Convention Doll Update:

Sarah Seiter is doing a limited run of 90 dolls for our event. If you want to order Spark the Wyvern, you must also purchase a convention membership. We also must have our pre-orders for the conventions dolls in advance.

      What if it doesn't go?
Our convention will go forward whether the Kickstarter reaches its goal or not, but everyone who participates by pledging in the Kickstarter is guaranteed the pre-registration rate on all of the convention items. If you pre-register through Kickstarter at the $75 rate, your membership rate *will not go up* in September. Anyone who waits until after the Kickstarter to register for the convention will be charged the higher rate.

We will have a "Meet and Great" at the official hotel, The Airport Hilton on Friday, Nov. 16 (rooms at the hotel are only $69 a night if you mention the convention).
