Squishy Plush Enthusiasts?

I have managed to only collect 3, not including 2 pairs of avocado toast slippers. These guys are so dangerous. They're soft, have perfect squish, and are egg shaped. Very dangerous.

The first one I got was the unicorn. He was in a blind bag I was given for Christmas after showing too much interest at Fred Meyer. I'm not a huge fan of him, but it makes me happier to pretend he's the little happy face in the nose and the eyes are his wings. I'm not a big unicorn gal, sorry...
My second was Easter Pooh who became 50% off the day after Easter and I lost all self control.
Third is Pikachu! I wanted him but not enough to go out and buy one. Then I found this one at the thrift store for $2. Yes, please!!

 

My daughter collects them, she likes cats and food/drink ones the most. I borrowed three of them for this picture, I love to see bjd with stuffed animals or plushies. I think if I was not into bjd I would definitely have a collection of squishmallows.

 

I don't have any (yet!) but I've been eyeing these for a while! I'd love to have a few for my dolls to cuddle Especially chubby birbs!

This is my plushie room. I have a wide array of different kinds of plushies; maybe half are squishmallows.


I have quite a few squishmallows in my actual bed (which I share with my partner lol), but this floor mattress and a lot of these plushies used to be my main bed in my old apartments before I moved in with my partner. I love coming up here and snuggling everything. I know that kills the resell value, but honestly, I don't see these as a collection or investment. They are my snuggle buddies when I need a moment of very soft calm.

Now I do have several very small squishmallows that I love for bjd pictures! My current profile pic has Vivian and her unicorn. And then I just took this photo yesterday with Joanna (I was showing off the outfit I made for her):

I plan to buy some more of the really small squishmallows for these kinds of pictures. I love them so much!

 

@QuaintMysteryDolls What's the point of owning soft and fluffy things if you can't sit around and hug them all day?? I love your pile! It looks very fun to roll around in!

@AlisonVonderland Pikachu does work!! I like Togepi more but I saw one in person and immediately changed my mind. They did not get that one to work

 

@AlisonVonderland oh yes, I have several pompompurins and many cinnamarolls (or however you spell it lol). I used to play those online crane games, so I have some Japanese plushies that were prizes. I don't recommend going down that wormhole though. It was quite expsenive and you can find most of the plushes I won on Mercari for cheaper than trying to play the games but they are very cozy to cuddle

The giant elephant plush sounds comfy! I have a huge walrus squishmallow who gets kicked on and off the bed that I use to cuddle when my partner is gone. The squish is so big that we can't both be comfortable in bed with him up there too lol. And thanks! Her outfit is one of my favorites I've made so far.

And both of you are correct; might as well enjoy the soft things to their fullest extent! I've never understood the desire to set them on a shelf and not ever give into squishing them as the name suggests

Awe what a cute little group! There's no wrong way to collect and enjoy plushies, so don't worry about messing anything up. For me, the general vibe is less about aesthetics and more about snuggles/comfort/etc. for sure. The accidental "I did not come here for a plushie, but I bought one anyways because it was literally too cute to pass up" are usually some of my favorites (like the little Drew dragon squishmallow that lives on the couch; I found him at a dollar store a few weeks ago while buying copious amounts of snacks and couldn't pass him up). It's one of the best ways to treat yourself, too. Come to the dark side, we have entire rooms dedicated to plushies mwahaha

I love them because they are so soft, and cute, and excellent for quiet time.

 

I only have the Gengar Squishmallow. It feels delightful, but I feel they're very expensive in Germany. Edit : Although I checked now and the prices are better, about as much as they were on the Pokemon Center site. Guess who just added Snorlax and Togepi to the collection...
But the quality is great! When I first got it I spent ages just squeezing parts of it. It lives on my bed now.
