SQ-Labs Ko School Girl (KSG) Discussion

OMG! I didn't know these existed! And now I'm sorry! Moe is too cute! Little chibi snaggle tooth kitty!!

 

Ah! They're so cute!! I love chibi Tsubaki But the preorder closes so soon... ;-; I hope they have another one!

 

Not too expensive for the body alone. I really like the natural look the body has. Can't wait to see your pics when your doll arrives, Aree. Especially a side to side comparison and maybe a head/body swap?
The KSG body looks a bit more mature than most yosd bodies.

 

Same, but I'm rather fond of the idea of a chibi Moe myself. If only I knew of this sooner.

 

On the website there's a picture of an in progress 31cm body. It's pretty neat that there will be two body options. I wonder if the option hands will work with the new body? And I also wonder if any more heads will be chibitized?

 

I also ordered some of the KSGs from SQ Labs, and I am horribly excited about the 31cm body. ^^ I figured my DD girls could use some little ones running around and having a variety of heights is just awesome.

 

I was told that my order from SQ Lab should be shipping within the next week or so. Hopefully it will, I have been very excited to see the KSG body in person.

 

Oh my, I just found these! The KSG-L body looks so nice! I need a chibi Tsubaki to keep my big one in line!

 

I'm still trying to figure out if these KSG are using smaller heads than the SQ Lab normal heads or not. Originally the page said that normal SQ heads would be compatible with the body, and now it says chibi heads are compatible.

When asked about if DD heads would fit on Figure.fm, Ranka ( the owner of SQ Lab) said the head on the KSG body was only slightly smaller than a DD head, and the normal SQ Lab heads are slightly smaller than DD heads in size as well.

I just received my shipping notice last night, and will spam with the KSG gals for sure since I ordered one of each.

According to SQ Lab's blog, Chibi Ren heads should become available rather soon. I'm hoping that they'll be sold separately instead of only being available with the body.

It's really exciting to see pictures of these girls and hear about the shipping notices. I *really* want that 31cm body and know I'm going to have a tough time choosing between Chibi!Ren and Chibi!Moe, although the more pics of Tsubaki I see, the more I like her... Too many lovelies, really.

 

Squee I just ordered moe and Ranka told me that she in stock and will be shipped on Monday! I am so excited!

 

Congratulations on your Moe! She's such a cute sculpt. My favorite sculpt is Ren, which Ranka showed as the new chibi head on the blog, so now I know I'll have to get her too. :P These girls are going to drain my wallet!

 

Neat! She's really cute! I like her face-up a lot too! I am terrified to paint one of those girls.

 

Lordnoir: oh man I love Ren too, I was thinking earlier that if Ren was a Chibi she'd be my first choice. And now he makes one.. I think my wallet is going to be drained too.

Hello, everyone! I just noticed that SQ Lab put up pictures of a Chibi Ren on their new 31cm body on their blog, and it's so cute! I was wondering if there's been notice of when the new body and head might be released? I'm really excited, but an idea of a release date and price would help me rearrange my doll plans.

Your Tsubaki is so adorable and haughty, AreeElf! I'm glad that the new heads have a hook and magnet system. The interior looks so much more finished than some photos I've seen of the larger heads.

I really look forward to seeing everyone else's dolls, too!

Congratulations on your new arrival, LordNoir! I love all the bodies in your first picture. Did you order the SG and the KSG at the same time?

Has anyone looked at the SQ Lab blog? One of the posts has pictures of a Yo-SD Megu head on the new 31cm body, and I think it adds a bit of elegance to the sculpt, whereas on the Volks Yo body it looks very baby cute.

 

The SG body in the picture is actually from one of my personal dolls, and the KSG is from the large initial stock order I made with SQ Lab. Being a dealer sucks sometimes, because you see all these cute dolls and you want to keep them all. :/

edit: And I just noticed Slendy made his way into the background of one of the pictures. lol.

 

Oh yay! Congrats Lordnoir! And thanks for mentioning that Alice Collection clothes fit! I had been looking around for clothes yesterday and I couldn't find any that I like. So from the day they shipped her how many days did you wait for her?

 

From the day I ordered, I had to wait about 8 weeks. However, I don't consider this a normal wait time since I've actually only received half of my order as of today. I imagine other orders will likely receive their dolls much quicker.

Aw! Shirahime is so cute! ^^ I see she has a little Spark the dragon to keep her company too.

Also, here's another photo. I couldn't stop myself from giving a quick face-up last night. These KSG girls are just too cute and charming for their own good!


I'll have some more pics a little later, resin comparisons and such.

 

The Chibi Moe pictured in the previous posts is normal resin. The normal resin also doesn't match Volks DD normal(as the site claims.) SQ Normal has a bit of a rosey-purple undertone to it, and looks pink in comparison. However, in my pictures, for some reason the SQ normal looks yellow and the DD normal looks more pink.


Here's a comparison as promised. The doll in the center is an SQ Lab Chibi Moe in White resin. Others are as follows:
1. Obitsu White Vinyl
2. Doll Chateau White
3. Volks Dollfie Dream Normal
4. SQ Lab Normal

I'll do another comparison when I can get my hands on some more pieces to compare.

 

I really love how well this body poses. Does the larger SQ Lab body also pose well, Lord Noir? It's still cool that you get to see all these dolls in person.

Yep! SQ Lab's SG and KSG bodies are very well engineered and make swapping optional parts quite easy ( there's slots in the wrists to rest the small s-hooks so you can change out the hands more easily.) They're in the same league as my Dollfie Dreams when it comes to posability, pose holding, standing and part swapping. I'll be very eager to check out the 31cm body for myself.

 

It's great to hear that the hands are easy to swap out, since sometimes it's easier to take off the hands when dressing dolls. I hope the 31cm body poses as well as the other two SQ Lab bodies; also, cute option hands would be great!

 

SQ Lab already has 10 different Yo-SD sized option hands available, with the pictures of the SG sized ones released even though the hands themselves aren't yet available to order. According to the site, the Yo-SD hands can be used with the KSG body even though they were originally made for Volks Yo-SD. I ordered a few pairs, so once those come in I'll try them and see how well they fit.

 

My Moe is stuck on JFK. >_< so near yet so far... So anyways, I am trying to look around for clothes and I can't find measurements on sq-lab's site. Is the volks YOSD body the same measurements as the KSG body?

 

I'm loving the look of the 31cm body! Now if they'd just make a chibi Hime head they'd have my money in a heartbeat! >W< ~

 

Oh, wow, I didn't realize, LordNoir, but I see them on the site now. It would be great to see them when your order arrives. In one of the blog posts, it seems like he's working on a pair of new hands? They seem to be pretty slender.

I hope you get your Moe soon, Rio99! I have a doll body that's been stuck in ISC New York for a week now .

 

Thanks for the updates and info, AreeElf. I didn't think to check the head parts portion of the site; it's nice to see them unpainted, even though I know they're just smaller versions of the big ones. All three are so adorable!

I'm really excited for when they put up the new 31cm body on the first page for pre-order; on the other hand, I'd also like it to be near the beginning of 2013 as opposed to the end of 2012.

 

The 31cm body is too perfect for words. I'm not into anime-style heads myself, but the body is perfect for a hybrid I want to make. I just wish they'd announce when the new body will be released! I hope it's sooner rather than later.

 

OMG! I got my last box and you'll never guess what I found set on top of one of the bodies I ordered - it was a 31cm body in white with a Chibi Ren head! 0A0!

Here she is~! She's so cute! I just threw in a quick pair of eyes I had laying around.


She poses quite nicely, just like the regular KSG body, though the torso joint does allow her to twist and bend slightly, not much though.It's not a huge height difference from the KSG, but still so cute, like a slightly older sister. Also, I tried 1/6 sized shoes and clothes on her, they fit great.

Now for a height comparison. In this picture, the girl I have been painting and styling as my boyfriend's Christmas present is assisting. She's an SQ Ryoko on the SG body.

Lordnoir: so you mean to say they gave it to you? Or did you order it? But then again they're not on pre-order yet right? Anyways congrats! She is adorable!

I agree with you about the body, Boussole and Daily. I have realistic sculpts, but it'd be nice to have an Anime-styled head, too, especially with such cute expressions like Moe's and Ren's.

That's pretty amazing, LordNoir! A Chibi-Ren is exactly what I'm planning to order when they're available.

Lord Noir- Could I ask you for a favor? I'd love to see an SD SQLab head on the 26cm body and the 31cm body. I'd love to see if I could make a chibi style 'big headed' doll.

OMG! OMG!!!! The SD head on the 31 cm body is PERFECT!!!! I might be doomed!!!! Arg!!!

I can see neck hole will need some epoxy putty to fix the gapping but it looks so good! So does the SD head on the 26 cm body! I can't believe how awesome and versatile these heads are!

 

question are the KSG-L 31cm body still available? I don't see them listed on the site. i Just discovered these cuties today and I want one. And how do you order them? are there still any available? I am such a newb at this lol

 

The 31cm body actually hasn't been released yet. No set date has been announced for the release, I have only been told that they will be available "soon."
