I love Celtis too! He really intrigues me, and I love his photo set.

 

Since I first knew about this company I fell in love with their bodies ♥ but not so much with the heads.
I love where they are going with these new sculpts, especially the elegance boy and girl!

 

I posted and asked if they are planning to sell the head separately for Atropa. She is really lovely. I'll be buying her head if she's available separately. I've already got a spiritdoll gal so don't want the full body. I really like Celtis as well, but I've got the original Abies head and I love it so tough to get another head to put on that body.

 

I think there are separate threads for the herculean/elegance/etc. lines so not all these new dolls would be in one discussion thread.

Anyway I'm totally in love with Morus. Like HobbySue said, if they sell the heads separately he has to come home

 

New dolls have a very great impression on me. Morus and Jasmine are very beautiful~~~

 

So in love with Celtis..~ I wouldn't have thought that Spirit will surprise so nicely~

 

Gosh the Morus/Jasmine sculpt is amazing looking! I may just have to edit my doll wishlist! I'm really pleased with Spiritdoll's new sculpts altogether, but Morus is by far my favorite. I do wanna see blank pictures of him before I switch around my wishlist, however!

I feel that Spiritdoll has come a long way in their sculpting as well. I remember when Spiritdoll first came around, and I feel an odd sense of pride with their sculpting improvement. xD I mean their bodies were always lovely, but their heads have improved so much.

EDIT: Just checked now and they have blank pictures released of all the new dolls!

 

I love the new dolls too!! And I agree, Celtis is hawt
I have put my eyes on the Herculean body ever since Cedar was released as well.

 

I quite like these new dolls particularly Morus and Celtis. Celtis' photo sets are interesting too.

 

I am definitely adding Celtis to my wishlist and he will probably be 2013 doll

 

Spiritdoll has a 75cm Alice up!

 

Alice is delightful! Another new girl big enough to be a companion for Lusion Dahlia.

 

She already up since November though!
The face looks strange to me but I do like her body, I hope Spiritdoll will release some basic versions of the 1/2 doll soon.

 

I think it's the faceup. The blank doll looks cute.

I have book marked their site and am interested in the 1/2 doll Alice to be a companion for my Dahlia's. They do a layaway but only up to 3 months which is tough for such an expensive doll as Alice. I also did some research to find a USA dealer. Can't find one. Perhaps I will ask if they will do an extended layaway on Alice.

 

I had read on their board this comment, "Hello, thank you very much for your interest in our 1/2 girl doll. ^^ It will become a doll line later this year, and the body will be released separately. ^^"

Waiting for my buyers to receive their dolls before I take that Alice plunge. But I'm pretty sure I will get her since she's all I can think of. I will get her blank. Alice currently comes with that option of getting her with a factory face up or blank. She also comes with her default wig, eyes and outstanding ensemble. The Alice sculpt will be sold as another doll later this year. Don't know if SpiritDoll will still call her Alice or not. But they have mentioned that there will be a price difference. Lower, perhaps? Would very much like to see Alice compared to Lusion.

 

How long does SpiritDoll usually take to ship a blank doll?

 

I had written to them on the 19th about shipping Nancy. Here is their response.

"Hello, it depends on if you are going to order the face-up and body blushing service, if you don't order any of the two service, it will takes about 2 months for the doll can be shipped after the full payment; if you would like to order either of the two service or both of them, it will take at least 3 months for the doll can be shipped after the full payment"

Hey there... empty discussion room! I really hope someone can help me out. I'm in the market for a Celtis, and I wanted to know a few things:

How accurate are the company faceup pictures to his real life faceup?
How well do these bodies pose, and are they easy to find clothing for?
What other skintone matches Spiritdoll's white skin?

I hope someone can help me out, I think Celtis is a wonderful sculpt, but I'd like more information before I lay the money down

 

AnchixDPx: Great posers, they wear Luts SSDF and Dollmore Glamour Model clothing, as well as Dollheart 70cm (usually). . they are just a tad thicker in the bottom half and pants may be a bit snug. Spiritdoll has a creamy white with a hint of yellow to it. Impldoll WS is the only one I have that I know matches. Souldoll, Fairyland, and Soom are whiter but probably could be blushed to go with the body; Luts is whiter and pinker, might be harder to work with. The qualification here is that my WS body is old and has mellowed/yellowed a bit. My new WS head wound up a lot pinker by the time I got through with it. The NS works with a lot of other NS sculpts.

Haven't gotten a company faceup, so don't know on that one.

 

Hi, I have yet to see good facial photos of Celtis-Spirit Doll. Do any of you have close ups of Celtis face and have any of you had a new face up done for Celtis? He looks interesting on the website. If you have a Spirit Doll how are they at posing and are they floppy like a rag doll?
I rarely post here. I have not mastered this site it is complicated. I post most often on Zone Of Zen.
Is he worth his price?

I actually came here for another question. I want to ask about the Proud body!!! Couldn't help but notice that this body comes with uuuhmmm...optional parts. And I see that the website offers a "permanent" or "fixed" version of the body for folks who don't want the 3 "optional parts" lol. I'll just say that I don't really have anything that I can do with these optional parts--I'm NOT interested in risque photography or anything, but still think it's cool. I want to ask people who have the proud body: are there any drawbacks to having a removable "part?" Does it stay in place firmly? Does it ever threaten to say... fall out of the pant leg or anything awkward like that???

I do think it's cool, but I am a person who prefers functionality to coolness. I'm totally torn between which decision to make, so if anyone can give me feedback I would be eternally grateful!

Also, I want to say that I am waiting for July 10th to buy my Spirit doll so I can get in on the summer event free head! Can someone please reassure me that their website is updated and the event is for THIS year and not last year???!!!

 

I think the Summer event was probably for last summer.

Thank you AnitaS for that pic of Celtis! A "long thin face" sounds really good to me! Thanks also for his profile pic on flickr! The nose is very important to me when it comes to dolls LOL! It's always important to see the profile--sadly some websites don't show the profile lol. I love that the Spirit doll website also shows their heads unpainted and includes a profile! Just look in the "heads" parts section if anyone hasn't seen it.

EEEEK! The summer event was last year? Perhaps I should just go ahead and place an order.....

 

AnitaS - would it be possible to get a straight on shot of his face, looking right at the camera? I am so torn - I thought I loved him, but also seemed like he had a wider jaw, and now I just don't know. I still think he's beautiful but am less sure if he's what I thought he was if that makes sense lol. Thanks for your help in advance if you can give it.

Wah~ I can't believe we have so little discussion for Spiritdoll : D But I have one darling from there already, Spiritdoll Freesia and she is so gorgeous *__* I have been thinking for a while to get Herculean body for my Iplehouse head and I think I finally decided it couple of weeks ago when I got to see Herculean body in real life :3 I just hope that the resin firts for Iple..

Has others noticed the Herculean sized jointed hands! They added them atlast to the section and they look nice. And I got them added to my order. ^__^ I'll take some piccies when I get them and the body.

 

Anyone noticed the event? Dark has been re-released in normal and white skin. Very tempting to get him in white skin.

 

Phew. This thread definitely needs some more attention. I just placed my order for a Celtis. I couldn't resist their free jointed hands event! ^u^

As for the other questions I've seen sifting through the thread, I've handled a proud V2 body before, and it poses extremely well. One of the better posers in the 70 cm range for sure, especially compared to idealians, old dollshe bodies [the hound hip!], and iplehouses. It may have to do with the relatively streamlined, less bulky design, but it holds pretty well :>

About the option parts, if you are afraid of it falling off, you can always remove it entirely and just stash it away. I like the option of a removable part because especially tight clothings just as leather pants, etc... don't always have a lot of room to fit properly.

 

Yeah, I agree, this thread needs more attention. :3 And oh, congrats for ordering, I hope you get him soon! The herculean body is wonderful to pose, I got to hold it in one meetup and it's gorgeous. It sits very nicely and you can put his feet in many different posions because of the joints. You won't be disappointed.

 

Thanks Kihaku! I really can't wait until he arrives ;u; two months will seem like a very long time. I hope that he turns out just as I hoped, and arrives safely! I'm a little bit nervous, since sometimes communications across the internet [and indeed, between languages] can be confusing at times.

 

Hullo! Just discovered Celtis and I think I'm a bit in love. :3 Love "the resident poet", he really has the look of a clever daydreamer. ^^ And I'd love to see more Celtis photos, too! I'd love to see more detailed closeups of the company face-up... I have seen some half-sharp photos of it but I'd love to see clearer ones.

XD LaCamilla, he's wonderful, isn't he? I just fell in love with the quiet cleverness that I too saw in him XD. I didn't get a company face up, as I'll be doing my own, but I will definitely be taking some clear photos and give spiritdoll a bit more exposure. I'm guessing their fans are a bit quiet around the forums haha ^^

 

Oh yes he is, indeed :3 Hard not to fall for him, I think! Ohh, it would be great if you could post a few photos when you get him! What kind of face-up are you thinking of giving him?

Haven't seen many Spiritdolls around actually... are they newer than many other companies or simply not as popular/well-known? (I for one had not heard of them until recently... ^^')

 

A little dark and clever, I think. XD Here's a picture of Alder, his character >u<...I'm really excited because it's taken me so very long to find a sculpt that could possibly work for him on the whole. It's been about 4 years that my poor other dolly has had to wait for his friend XD....

Spiritdolls are known, I think. They have been around for a few years now. Their V2 body design is quite popular for hybriding. However, the company themselves is not regularly active. They seem to release things in spells and then go quiet for a bit. There was a period of time, when they were gaining a lot of popularity, that the company just disappeared and stopped all communication with their customers. Naturally, this has damaged their reputation a little bit and made people very uneasy about ordering with them. They dropped off the map after that.

It is a bit more recently that they issued a formal apology on their website for the lack of communication and vowed to renew their company to be better. They also released new items at that time.

I've been emailing back and forth with spiritdoll, for that reason. Sometimes I've had to prod twice, between about 3-5 days, so they must think I'm a stickler XD... Usually they answer within 72 hours. It's a bit slow for a company, but I wish to believe that they're really trying hard to improve their service after they returned.

... that's right, now that I think of it I have seen Spiritdoll bodies but no heads xD
Hm, that doesn't sound like okay customer communication... O.o Glad they seem to be back on track though, because those gorgeous sculpts deserve to be out there in the world! Who knows, maybe something happened that made them unable to communicate for a while. We're all human, I mean.

I wonder how Celtis looks in tan...? I love the paleness in the company photos, but I have a ex-pirate lighthouse keeper/bookworm character whose expression fits almost perfectly with Celtis, and I've been thinking about him as tanned, but... pale Celtis is beautiful... but... maybe tan Celtis with dark blond hair is even more beautiful...? O.o Oh, the unanswered questions...!

 

^^ yes, as far as I know, after they returned there has been no uproar of problems and people have been receiving their orders regularly. It would probably be helpful to check out their company review thread, even if it's quite dated. Their waiting rooms should have evidence of their more recent service, if people have been updating that instead.

Oh that's good... I read a bit in the threads, and it seems at least everyone received their orders even though the company didn't notify them that their doll was shipped xD At least that's reassuring -- everyone gets their stuff

Yeees. It's difficult. ;o; Tan or no tan? Ugh. Anyone have any info on how Spiritdoll's tan resin behaves? Is it a dark tan or a light tan? Can't tell by photos, in one it looked just slightly tanned, almost normal but just a bit darker, and in another one it was pretty dark. (I guess an ex-pirate should be tanned. But on the other hand, itf he's been a lighthouse keeper for several years then maybe there's no tan left...? ;D)

 

LaCamilla, I don't think I ever left a review for my Spiritdoll purchase, but I can tell you I don't plan on purchasing from them again until their communication improves. That was the only problem I had with them. I bought a Freesia head. They took my money but never gave me a receipt, so I was really worried. I asked for a receipt and threatened a paypal claim if I didn't get one - but got absolutely no response. I didn't take out a claim, and I got my Freesia head. She arrived after a fairly reasonable wait (though I wasn't expecting her, because I never got a shipment notification). It's not like she was shoddily made, or that I had to wait forever for her. It's just that their communication was the worst I've ever had. I never, ever got a receipt from them for my money. They didn't reply to my emails, even when I threatened to take my money back through paypal. It was just appalling.

On the bright side, the Freesia head stuck around. I vacillated about what to do with her. I had initially wanted to make her a boy, but that didn't pan out. I kept thinking about selling her. Then I decided to make her my MC Joren's mom, Princess. I don't have any wigs in dark brown (Princess's color) but just on a whim, I stuck in some dark brown eyes (Joren's color, and her mom's as well) and put on one of Grown Joren's unused blonde wigs. Right at that moment, my plans changed, and Grown Joren herself jumped molds from the Asleep Eidolon Kina to the Freesia head.

Little Joren is a Fairyland LittleFee Dark Elf Soo - sharp, pointy features -and actually bears a much stronger resemblence to a Freesia than to a Kina (which has much softer features). The Freesia head has stolen the Asleep Eidolon body, and she's probably keeping it for good. I plan to get a different body for the Kina....

 

Red, D: oh gosh that sounds terrible, and not at all like the experience I've had. When did you place your order? Were you posting on their Q/A forum or were you emailing them? I have been emailing them without much issue, and they have tended to every one of my needs every time they've replied!

I received an automated receipt when I placed my order D: , so I have no idea what's going on there?

Redfaery, It may not be their fault. Some email providers seem to swallow emails from some companies or some foreign email providers. I had to get another email account to get emails from Customhouse a few years ago. I never got any of their emails on my regular email. I still don't get occasional emails, but I'm sure the companies send them.

 

nancy_schroeder_ca: I'm glad to hear that. It makes me feel better about possibly ordering from them in the future, even though I have no desire to at the moment; Joren is quite happy on the Asleep Eidolon body.

Laelen: I received a receipt from paypal, but nothing from Spiritdoll themselves. Looking it up, I placed the order almost exactly 2 years ago: June 18th, 2011.

 

Oh mi gosh, my body + hands are shipped already. :3 I ordered them at 28th of may and they sent them on 28th of june, so I had to wait only 1 month. I hope others get them fast too if you have ordered something.

 

Hm, Red, I think it was just bad luck of timing maybe then! >n< Let's hope it was a one time thing! I received an automated receipt with my order and an email confirmation of my payment, but I have been in contact with Spiritdoll regularly. Ying has been very attentive to me as a customer, so far I haven't a reason to speak ill of spirit.

Kihaku, yay! Do post pics when they get home! That's wonderful news about the fast shipment times too. I'm curious, did you receive a shipping notice? That seems to be the thing which most people are missing when I look through the waiting rooms and feedback threads.

La Camilla, here's a thread with body comparisons. I know there's a few floating pics of their tan in there somewhere. It's a lovely shade, on the lighter side I believe. I think the only catch with tan is that maintenance or modding will be more difficult; like all tans, sanding will often reveal a different shade, as the inside of the resin is not the same. MSC UV cut will appear to lighten a tan, because it has uv protect factors (it causes no damage to the doll, the original shade is preserved beneath the msc). You can choose different sealants however, so it just takes a bit more work for a tan doll in general.

 

Yeah, they sent me an email about it with tracking code. I think last time when I bought a extra bust part, I didn't get any tracking number. It shows on the spiritdoll site that they are paid, nothing else.

 

My 2 year old order on the Spiritdoll site still just says "paid." I never got a tracking number.
