I think Windflower will be a great doll, she has the same interesting sculpt, and anyway she can be gorgeous)

 

I really hope that Spiritdoll do a cool Xmas event, like a free head or something. I want to get a Gardenia and a Windflower.. Really bad for my wallet, but they're just too gorgeous.

 

Windflower is darling, Kthulhu42. I know I would love to see some owner pictures of her, but I'm not sure if I could keep from getting her if I did.

Has anyone else had any issues contacting Spiritdoll? I've emailed them four times over the past month and a half, and they haven't responded. I used their contact us form on the website too, heard nothing there either.

I really like their dolls but I'm just a bit wary of buying if the communication is bad.

 

I thought I share my boy as well. I'm still working on his outfit so excuse the shirtless pic.
He arrived last year on November. He has default faceup if anyone is interested.

Hi guys. Does anyone have an Olea? I was looking at her on Spiritdolls site and I really love the company pictures, but the pictures of the blank head almost look like a different doll -- the face seem rounder and she looks like she's got an open mouth in the doll photos but not the head shots....I was just wondering if there were owner pictures out there.

Also, anyone know if the Proud boy heads are much bigger than the girl heads? I was wondering how they might work as girls...

Olea just came out close to Christmas so no one has her yet.

As for her "open" mouth, Spiritdoll's faceup artists use black or dark paint to make shadows on the mouth, so that might be what you are seeing rather than an actual carved open mouth. You can really see the dark paint on Alice version 2's faceup. However, they appear to have goofed by posting Ulmus's blank head in Spruce's listing, so there is the possibility that they did post a different doll. She looks similar enough that it probably isn't the case, though.

 

Yeah, I figured out she was new last night while I was signing up for the site. Thanks for the heads up on their faceups. I almost ordered her last night - I'm glad I waited. I really like the pictures of the faceuped head, but blank she's less interesting to me. I really like open mouths, I'd have been disappointed to get her and find it closed.

 

Hi all, I am new to this thread

I was wondering if the normal skin resin is more on the yellow side or the pinker side. I am thinking of picking up one of the lovely elegance boy bodies, but the head I have in mind for it has yellowed (Volks 2007) Thanks!!

 

AmoraSeth - it's more on the yellow side. I use Spiritdoll for the yellow-tone hybrids, Luts for the pink.

Just found this wonderful thread! I love Spiritdoll - their quality is fantastic and their bodies versatile with other heads, and I am in love, love with my Celtis. May we post hybrids here to show how nicely the bodies go with other heads? I find their NS resin matches very well with quite a few other brands.

Hi Nancy! Lorenzo is a Celtis head (with default face up) that I bought here on MP, and I stole his Spirit Proud 2 body from my LLT Roderich so Lorenzo is completely Spiritdoll with his appropriate body. I have a Granado Mads head and a Dollclans Phython head both on the Proud 2 bodies, both taken from two Abies. I prefer the Abies on larger bodies, currently they are both on Mecha Angel Bodies. Proud 2 is a really fine body and works well with many different heads. I want to get a Herculean for a minimee but might have to sand down the neck. Can't wait to get that body!

I'm looking to get lotus and was hoping for some body reviews. I also would like to know what people thought of the tan skin. Is it orangy? Or more brown?

I like their tan, AnchixDPx. I have a tan Celtis. It's kind of a nice milk and coffee color.

 

My tan Echium just got some new hands! He's from the special tan order from WAY back in the day (from before Echium was discontinued, obviously), and I recently got him a pair of Fifth Motif hands in Dollshe's Honey Skin Mango Oriental resin. I have some of their other resin colors here, so I kind of guessed (based on what I have) which resin might work, I got lucky. It's not a perfect match, since the honey skin resin is translucent and the Spiritdoll resin is opaque, but the Mango Oriental color is very close to his older Spiritdoll tan. I'm quite happy.

 

Oh he's just lovely... I was thinking of adding this sculpt to my plans but not until I saw him in tan. Thanks for the pic because you just sold me on him! (Also his clothes and faceup are great omw)

Has anyone got a Girl Marchen Waltz head and a Elegance Spirit doll body in normal skin? can you let me know if this combo works for both head fit on the neck and resin match?

 

I am sorry if this is on the wrong discussion board - I have been trying to find a comparisson of the 1/2 sized SPirit doll to regular, taller BJDs in the 70 cm range. I am trying to figure out how silly she would look next to those, as her over all height shouldn't be a problem but her thickness might. Thanks for your help in advance, and again sorry if this is in the wrong section. I am in the hospital recovering from back surgery so of course I am shopping for dolls and catching up on reading of dolls :P

 

I think the main thing that may set them apart is the 80cm dolls are meant to look more childish in their body composition.

as for thickness the 70cm boys have a thicker chest than the 80cm dolls, the waist on the 80cms are thicker by 5.5 cm,

in general the Dolce's are thicker and longer, again to be more child-like.

Maybe you could convince someone who owns one to upload their dolls on the BJD comparison site since there's already the 70cm on there, also try asking the "photo comparison" thread

 

I missed your post earlier. I think you haven't found a comparison because they don't really "go together." But it does give me an idea! I will see what I can do.

 

So, after stalling for the better part of a year... and then having my plans (and dolly funds-) waylaid by Soom and a certain pair of SHeliot twins... I *finally* got to order my Ulmus and Olea this afternoon.

Now that the countdown to actually having Adanna and the Captain here has started, I find myself with a question. What fits a guy of Herculean proportions? Can he share with my Iple EIDs? Will he fit in Soom MG outfits? Or is he one of those troublesome souls who's going to demand that I make everything just for him?

 

So excited, Brightfires! If I didn't have other SpiritDolls in line first, I would have ordered Ulmus. As far as a Herculean goes, I know he doesn't fit DollHeart except for shoes. Others have said that he can fit Iplehouse clothes. Beyond that, I've had to make him clothes. :/

 

I did a body review for the Spiritdoll Proud girl body a while ago. It's here, if you are interested .

 

If he can fit in the same things my EID guys wear, we're set. I suspected just looking at the measurements that their outfits might work for him, too, but it's hard to tell for sure until someone tries it. XD

 

I had put some EID items on my various wish lists on account of someone else saying that they fit Herculeans. I just can't remember where or I'd direct you to it. You're probably in luck, especially if you already have clothes to try on them.

 

Hi everyone! I just ordered a Daffodil and was wondering if anyone else has any Proud line girls? They look to be on the tall side, so I'm curious about fitting them into clothes.

 

I have a Spiritdoll Atropa and I'm not gonna lie, dressing them is interesting because of the wide shoulders and small breasts. She seems to fit into SD16 clothes all right for the most part and most shoes that I've tried on her. I made a comparison chart here for an easy look-see while windowshopping.

Ahh thank you so much, I can see it! This is exactly what I was going to end up doing myself, you have saved me so much time. :'D I also just looked up the Dollmore Model line measurements and I think they're pretty similar, at least in terms of torso.

 

It'll be interesting to see of my Olea can wear SID or EID girl outfits... The SIDs are closer proportionally, but a few cm shorter. The EID girls are the right height, but bigger over-all.

 

Well, my Ulmus and Olea have arrived at long last... and on the clothes front I can now definitely say that IpleHouse's SID stuff will fit on a medium-bust Proud girl reasonably well.

As for a Herculean guy and Iple's EID outfits... It's a little dicey from what I've tried so far. Islyn is currently wearing the Demon Hunter set, and he looks great in it, but I wouldn't call the fit ideal. The top and vest fit pretty much perfectly. The boots worked great, too. Getting the #$%^*& pants on him? That was like stuffing a water buffalo into a wetsuit. I did (eventually) manage to get them on and fastened through some careful tugging and pulling, but he can't sit in them. Even bending a knee isn't easy.

Once I work up to prying those trousers back off of his enormous butt, I'll try a few of my other EID outfits on him... but so far? It's looking like tops are a safer bet.

 

Congratulations on the arrival of your dolls! lol I've been noticing lately how many of the 70cm+ boys have huge butts. Good to know that the EID pants are so snug.

I have finally decided on getting a Hibiscus and Olea, but I'm not quite sure which body to get for Olea. I love the version 1 legs way more than version 2, but u like the version 2 torso better (it looks slightly wider). Suggestions?

 

Hello! Is this the right thread for the Elegance line? I did some looking, and realized I wasn't seeing any Elegance guys and gals. Sorry if it isn't!

 

With it being the general thread (vs just-Elegance or just-Proud), I'd say you're in the right place.

 

Ahh, okay!! I was actually wondering about sizing on the male Elegance body. I have no experience shopping for a 1/3 scale doll, so it had me wondering if there was a slim SD size for clothes like there is a slim MSD size. (If that makes any sense.) Would he be able to fit in most SD clothes? Or is shopping for an Elegance boy more difficult?

 

@dizii , have you tried comparing measurements to other more common dolls (eg,Volks SD13)? That may be a good place to start.

@hannaliten , I have the v2 body and I like the legs ... though I feel one heel leg is shorter than the other, but that might just be mine. The chest/shoulders feel pretty wide too, but she's fit into most 70cm girl shirts just fine so far.

 

Does anyone know if migidoll NS and Spiritdoll NS are a match? I was debating a hybrid with the elegance body, but I've only ever seen pictures with WS.

 

I recently made a pretty big order from Spirit Doll. WS Proud boy body, NS elegance boy body, and NS smart girl body. I can't wait to get them! They're all so gorgeous, so exciting!

 

@Meggethann, here you go! if all else fails, spiritdoll has a colourmatching service and the migi heads look and fit great on them. here's another i found just combing through google results.

They are terrific posers. I mean, they pose very well. Another long-ago thread on DoA compared Herculeans to Idealians, which I was also considering at the time. The Herculeans so outclassed them in the posing department that I got my first SpiritDoll, and that's taking the Herculean's ridiculous size and weight into account, so I can only guess that they are better in smaller sizes.

 

Congrats! That'll be a large package! I'm also waiting for a large one, a Dolce girl and an Elegance girl.

 

I don't have an Idealian over here to compare with my big guy, but I can definitely say the Herculeans are much, much more cooperative posers than Iple's EIDs.

 

I have an EID on order. I should do a photoshoot comparing their posing abilities once he gets here.

 

EIDs are beautiful... absolutely classical in their sculpting... but holy heck are they ever a pain in the rear to pose. o_0 Even with the mobility joints it can be a fight to get them to behave. I've never had half as hard a time getting Islyn into position.

 

@dizii did you figure out what size clothing works best for the elegant body? I don't own a BJD yet, but I am considering this body, and from what I gathered from the measurements, I think it is SD13 sized? I may be utterly wrong, of course.

I would love to read more about any clothing you bought for your boy that fit well

 

I'm in love with a Spiritdoll from 2011. His sculpt is Stayne The Spade Knight. I really want one, but haven't found one for sale. Are there any owners of him out ther that can tell me how he poses or give me any information about him?
