Jointing Special hand/foot joints

    1. I'm trying my best to figure out how jointed hands and feet work! Not talking about individually jointed fingers and toes, but for example like Chimera Doll's feet that bend at the ball of the foot or more specifically FairyLand's Griffin with lion paws. I have never seen how the pieces work in any images before.

      Here's part of my anthro doll's sketch. This is what I came up with so far for the hands. There's a very short elastic (in green) that connects the rod in the wrist with a rod in the fingers??

      Would anyone be willing to take a picture of their dolls who have this type of joint so I can better understand (pulling on it to see the string inside)? Or explain to me in words or sketch?

    2. I'm not sure how the Chimeradoll feet work (I think they are amazing though!) but you might check out Twigling's Instagram because her dolls have that foot joint as well and I've seen more close-ups of them. I think they use a small spring that is then attached to the elastic (not sure, but I'm curious too)!

    4. You're welcome! I love these joints and would definitely like to add them to my own sculpt (if I ever get around to making it lol).

      And here's another variant that I stumbled on by accident today. This one seems to work with elastic thread that ties the toe piece, which has a metal bar through it, to the ankle area. The elastic thread is knotted above the bar in the ankle and then the foot will probably be strung on a s-hook like normal. Pretty neat!
