    1. Hey guys - question for y'all :cool:

      I've looked high ad low for info on a company I discovered on IG named Space Studio BJD (spacestudio_bjd on IG), including here on DoA, but can't find much on them. They're IG states that they'e an official agent for bjd artists, but they don't provide much info on their website - nothing on shipping (or from where, but I suspect China).

      Their website/store - Space Studio BJD - is hosted by Shopify under the account name space-studio-bjd.myshopify.com. Their e-commerce website was registered on June 1, 2021. I don't know if that means they just started operating on that day or if they were in operation on some other platform. Again, not much on their site.

      Since I can't find much info on them (next to none except for the above) I'm guessing they just started. Maybe not. Anyway, has anyone ordered through them before? If so, how was your experience?

    2. Hi, I ordered my Elementdoll Pitt H head from them, paid in 2 installments: first through Instagram/PayPal before they opened shop, second through shop when head was ready to ship. Everything went perfectly but yeah, shop is new so not many reviews yet .

    3. They are active and respond on instagram quickly. I have purchased from them in the past without trouble and was happy with their communication and process.

      Ordering was through email, you filled out a form and sent it to them. After getting a reply with the totals and paypal email, you respond with the paypal transaction ID. They dont do that anymore, and instead accept orders via website instead.

      However, I no longer purchase from them because they do not accept paypal. They have in the past, but they no longer accept it as payment, and even on their website, paypal isnt an option you can choose. If paying in other ways is okay with you, I find them trustworthy, but I personally do not feel comfortable paying with anything but paypal to anyone.

    5. I have been purchasing from Space Studio since 2017 and have made multiple orders from them because they used to be one of the few dealers who had an artist that made clothing in 5th Motif size.

      As GreenTeaSlug said above, they used to do orders via email with Paypal payments. They would make notices on their Instagram page. Now that they have their own website, they do credit card payments. You can still get info on their current products through their Instagram.

      I have ordered from them both via email and the new website and have had no issues paying by Paypal previously, or now by credit card on their new site. They have always been very responsive and great to work with in my experience! :thumbup

    8. Does space studio ever restock their dolls? I just learned of them yesterday. I really like the zee's studio erato head. I feel nervous because I can't find much info. This threads been helpful, but i would still like more info on space studio bjd.
       
    9. I know they restock Element Doll and the more babyish ones (don't remember the name) quite often (once or twice a year), I don't know about zee's studio because I didn't pay attention as it is not my kind of doll, sorry ! Best is maybe to ask them directly ?

    11. Space Studio is more like the dealer of some small Chinese companies. I bought 4 Elementdoll with them and everything went smooth, they reply emails and Instagram pretty fast too. I would ask them :) Sometimes they can have some extra in stock (maybe some cancellations?) or at least know about restocking. Since the companies they sell are rather small (at least Elementdoll) I think it's pretty possible that they restock! I'm waiting still 2 of my Elementdoll heads and 2 Akagidoll bodies with them, but my first order went quite well!

      On the other hand, I found Erato in Newclover-singing. I never ordered there but looks like other people ordered Element doll there and it went well!

    12. This is good to hear. I've had an Element Doll Pitt A and a body on order w/them for about 6 months now and they're communication hasn't been stellar. They do respond when I email them but first they were still waiting for the body and the last time I emailed them they said the head was not ready yet as I'd opted for a face-up.
       
    13. Is it possible that it is due to the face up? I ordered my Pitt A on November 18th and got it last month! Maybe there is a long queue for face up... Not sure.

      In my case I didn't have any communication problem (yet...) but I'm still waiting 2 heads more and 2 bodies. In my case they are all blank though.
       
    14. Yep. the face-up seems to be the reason for the hold-up. I contacted them again and they said he was finally ready. :sigh

    17. Hello, I just ordered a Muhan’s Doll Shark from Space Studio. The doll is supposed to be in stock but I haven’t heard anything since I paid, though I did get a receipt for my order.

      Roughly how long does it take for Space Studio to ship out?
       
    18. Updating this: I emailed them and they replied very quickly. Shipping is held up due to the Covid situation in China.

      Just checking to see if anyone else is waiting? I know they’re a small company and things must be very difficult.
       
    19. I haven’t ordered from Space Studio but I know when there are covid outbreaks in certain areas they completely lockdown so no one can go to work including the postal service.

    21. I see this a little late but, I have been waiting for 2 Akagidoll bodies and 1 extra Pitt face and they shipped them yesterday! Covid is making a lot of stuggles in China it seems

    22. Yes, my Muhan's Doll Shark arrived safely on Monday. The shipper was a bit squashed but the doll in her box was fine and really lovely.

    24. I ordered Erato head when they announced that a pair of heads (open eye & closed eye) were returned and in-stock (ready to ship). I ordered open eye earlier this month. I haven't received shipping info yet and getting a little anxious. It's relieving to find this thread with positive feed back! :D

    28. I had a good experience with space studio last time, They were a little slow in terms of, well, everything but I was very happy in the end.
      I have another package on the way from them and it was prepared for shipping on the 11, got a tracking on 20, but the package hasn't actually been handed off yet it seems. Not sure what is the hold up but it seems like or another something is going on.

    29. I received news that my pending order will ship soon :) we're still within the waiting period stated on the site so all is well. I'll update as things progress.

      By any chance, has anyone commissioned a faceup? I've got in mind to buy a head through them and have it faceupped by one of the artists on catalog (simply for convenience, so I don't have to ship it back and forth across the world once I receive it). Any experience would be great to hear about.
       
    30. I got a doll + face up services commission thru them (and by the way, the stuff from my last order mentioned above arrived just fine and everything perfect plus another order I made came through as well)

      they waited until my doll arrived to them before asking some addtional question to clarify about my face up order via email.
      I got updates as the artist provided them, so that might vary on how responsive the artist you chose is. and they asked for my approval or input on the updates along the way :kitty2
      my doll packed very safely to come home I was very happy with everything. I would recommend their services and have ordered from them with faceup services again.
      Oh right and they do ask you where you prefer to be contact so if email is not a good contact for you I think you can choose whatever you want.

      one thing that I've noticed myself from re:above order and other people chatting about their orders is that they print a shipping label in your country, but the shipping label does not appear to move for a while, sometimes a week or two weeks. I think they get sent to different third party sorting centers and then the tracking not moving is waiting for the package to arrive from china, sorted, get the new label and mailed again. because my packages from them have had return address from different states. It's just my best guess. In the end the packages have come home with no problems.

    32. I hope you don't mind me asking, but when you say they were a little slow in terms of things, does that include things taking longer than the listed lead time for things? I placed an order mid-April with a listed lead time of 2 months that hasn't changed from the confirmed status, and I'm trying to decide if/ when I should ask for updates. I emailed them a few weeks ago to update my shipping address, and they said then that they'd arrange the shipping ASAP :/
       
    33. The lead time for items to arrive to them was pretty accurate 2/3 times I ordered, one (a wig) was longer by ummm months, I didn't ask after it I'm too patent for my own good sometimes :sweat

      I think it's fine to ask. They were a bit slow to reply messages than I'm used to and of course the shipping updating thing, which started to make sense to me after receiving one package from NJ and other from CA. Their shipping method takes kind of long (weeks)

      I would also consider that the lead time is likely estimated by the artist and if listed in days probably means business days.
      If they taking long to reply you can try to find the artist page or other buyers and see if they're receiving anything yet.:)

    34. Thanks that's helpful! The lead time isn't listed in days, just as 2 months. I've been counting it in terms of business days, which would put the shipping time as last week, which is why I've been debating if i should even ask for any updates xD I'm not generally too impatient, and I don't mind that the shipping itself will take a while to get here, but their reply when i updated my address about shipping it ASAP got my hopes up xD
       
    35. I got a tracking number for my order this morning! Although it's not active yet. I had contacted them a couple weeks ago for an update and they replied that the items were complete and they were waiting on the shipment from the maker. This is more or less on schedule, according to production times, so all is well.

    36. I also just got a tracking number! Though it's also a USPS number and the city is where the closest customs office is for me, so I'm assuming it'll be a while before I can actually track it. Still excited though!

    37. Heyyyyy someone just ringed the doorbell and I got a package. I couldn't make the tracking work through 17track or my local posts, but I got it fast and safe so all is good. Very sturdy packaging. And I did not have to pay any customs (bless!!!!)

      Shoutout to Cloud Doll - the quality of the things they make is straight up incredible, and I normally don't care but the packaging is splendid too. These boots are to die for :love

    38. Well my package abruptly updated to out for delivery on Monday morning (August 11) after no updates at all. And it was delivered! To the wrong address >< Despite saying they'd update my address back when I asked in June, there must've been a communication breakdown somewhere, because it got shipped to the initial address I put in when placing the order and wasn't sure if I'd be moving this summer. It's not the end of the world, but it is a little frustrating that I'm now going to need to make specific plans to go get it when I wasn't expecting to.

      I have purchased from SpaceStudio BJD (SSB) since last year with more than 10 transactions, as well as subscribed on their Instagram channel. So far I had relatively positive feedbacks with them despite delay of shipping etc. until TODAY;

      • Last middle of December, I agreed to purchase one of two 1/4 painted heads announced on their Instagram channel and we communicated on Instagram Messages and SSB sent me photos of the doll head and an invoice via PayPal, which I settled straight after and SSB wanted to send me two parcels including my other items.
      • About two weeks later I received a dispatch notification without the painted head and SSB told me that my painted head had been already sent out from the artist but SSB got no tracking number yet.
      • Subsequently, I purchased another painted head from SSB, which was announced in SSB Instagram channel and via IG message, I again reminded SSB regarding my 1/4 painted head and SSB responded it would be picked up later.
      • After several conversations, still no information for my 1/4 painted head, I contacted SSB via their contact form on their website.
      In SSB's last reply that my 1/4 head has been in production and not finished yet...there are multiple inconsistencies and delays as well as communication is not fluid.
      After I sent a reply regarding the doll head, I could not access their announcement of the painted doll head on their channel, which seems to be just deleted.

      Therefore formally raised a complaint and requested an immediate and clear statement regarding the 1/4 painted doll head.

      Their IG channel got 1.1k subscribers and the doll on the right with long hair should be my order.
      This post was deleted today.

    40. @Clementia - have you heard any more from them? This is worrying to read, I always thought they were one of the more reliable Chinese agents. Hope you get this resolved soon

      Thank you for your attention to my issues.

      Just here some updates; SpaceStudio replied to my email with a fulfilled response.
      They just acquired a new staff member who is taking care of customer inquiries via emails.
      The person didn't realise the situation and they found the tracking number and shipment afterwards.
      They told me that they didn't erased the post of their Channel on Instagram and in meanwhile I could access the posts again.

      Today I have finally received the doll head and I'm happy with the faceup, too.

      And yes, I have more items purchased and not completed including in stock items.
      Also they offered me store credits and I hope they are going to improve their stock/dispatch/notification system as well as customer communication/supports.
