Hello all ^^ Since I got my Souldoll Zenith (new double) girl body I got so many issues with her posing. I got her in 2018 via Angelesque, but I recently found out that my Zenith body maybe was wrongly assembled by Souldoll and that's why the posing is horrible. Now I need your help to compare your Zenith girl out there with mine. According to the awesome comparsion here: Souldoll Zenith female new double vs old double +Review – Blogged Dimensions my body looks like a mix & match between the old and the new torso and bottom body part. Maybe somebody can held me a little. I just wrote the issue to Souldoll and I'm currently waiting for an answer. I hope I can get a spare part to re-assemble everything nicely Of course I already tried re-stringing and hot-glue sueding her - but nothing really helps She can't sit or stand and always falls back, because her chest ist very heavy and she has a huge hollow back. There are no gripping spikes in the pelvis-joints and no spikes or teeth in the torso joint. Unfortunately, I think both pieces of the torso are from the new body. However, it looks like the top of the bottom piece has been changed. It's possible that Souldoll saw the review on Dimension Dolls and agreed with her criticism on the gaping hole that's exposed when moving the chest around. I suspect it was too expensive for them to redesign the torso entirely, so they made a new piece that they glue in there to smooth it out and cover the hole. The reason her chest part cannot be posed is because the opening between the two torso pieces is too small, and there is nowhere for the elastic to move. Here I've pointed out the piece that I believe they added. If it really is an extra part that's glued on, you could possibly remove it. And then you would at least have the same posability as the one on Dimension Dolls. This would be similar to what some people used to do to Luts Delf girl bodies so they could slouch. At the top of the bottom torso piece, Luts had a piece glued in that hindered the movement of the chest piece. Removing it allowed the chest to move better. I can't find photos anymore, but it's mentioned in this post from 2009. Good luck!
As Overlordu stated above, you have a fully new body. They added extra resin to the lower torso soon after my review because I wasn't the only one complaining about it (added a notice to the end of my comparison about that to avoid future confusion). That extra piece with the seam seems excessive though and I would agree with Overlordu and recommend trying to remove it to gain a bit of a mobility back. After my review the lower torso was modified and it already has more resin than my version, so that glued extra piece seems excessive and more hindering than useful. But yes, unfortunately that body is just horrible at posing. If it can't sit up at all, that should still be a stringing issue, though. Did you change the strings when you re-strung her? The key for Zeniths is to find the right thickness and tension for them to do anything. I tend to go for at least a 4mm string for the head->ankles part of the body to make things more stable and make sure that she's not too tight or too loose. Depends a bit on the string but I usually make sure the string reaches from the neck to the knee or at shortest mid-thigh _before_ it's stretched. That usually gives me the best tension for stable standing and sitting. Adding some sueding to the torso is almost a must for Zeniths, too. But I definitely feel your pain. I've had to mod her elbows and in the end I changed her to a completely old-type torso because I just could not stand the new torso at all. And they've repeated that body with every size they have (vito, soulkid), I don't get it. ^^; Edit: This girl from the time has the images of the change in the joint: *Special ball jointed doll for you, SOULDOLL*
Wooow, thank you both for your answers! They are super useful for me! @overlordu Basically it's a good move from Souldoll to listen to customer reviews and to optimize their dolls. Thumbs up for this service and their good will Right this is the one part that's bugging me...this strange stick-on ring. Hmmm, maybe removing it, drilling the hole bigger oder ripping teeth inside would be a solution. I'm not sure how to safely remove the part...I bet it's some kind of epoxy glue @Yenna You are behind the comparison!? Thank you for this documentation! It helped me a lot and I don't know how often I visited this page. I'm sure you are helping the community a lot with it, too Unfortunately I didn't read the update at the end of your documentation *awkward I used new strings, the strings that were included in her box, but I can't say how thick they were. The sames wich she had in her from Souldoll But I pulled her super duper tight. Maybe it was too tight? I will try to loose it a little and maybe I will carve an angle in her tight/pelvis joint, so I can snag the string in when I want her to sit. Guys, you are so incredible helpful
